      This is the best ive version out there, thx for picking it Janet, a lot of people do Oakland which annoys the hell out of me, half is a bunch of chicks clapping, I want to watch Skynyrd put on a show, a shame because heard that was a great show.
      Knebworth is kick ass & love to watch these huys in action.

    Knebworth Music Festival UK ..... 350,000 ended up being the official count (ref Debra Jo (Billingsly) White) ... " “We all wondered how anyone could follow them.” An hour later, we all began to wonder if anyone would even try."- Freddy Bannister the promoter --- the anyone he was referring to was The WHO & Rolling Stones www.loudersound.com/features/knebworth-76-stones-late-show ... Stones manager told Ronnie (Skynyrd singer) in no uncertain terms, the special stage that jutted out into the crowd was for the Stones use only, which is why Ronnie made it a point to herd the band out onto said stage as soon as practicable ^^

      The Who were not a band scheduled to play at Knebworth 76. The line up was.
      The Rolling Stones, 10cc, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Todd Rundgren's Utopia , Hot Tuna , Don Harrison Band.

      I bet it is was but the video sucks. Knebworth so much better, it is focused 90% band 10% audience , Oakland was like 60% audience, 40% band. As someone who never got to see them live U tube is all I have. I did get the DVD live at Knebworth, totally worth it, 1 continuous concert

    They were told DO NOT go on catwalk! Reserved for Mick Jagger only. Ronnie says yeah ok. Hold my beer and pushed his guitarists out on Catwalk 😂😂😂

    Free Bird is Epic. Yeah, Billy Powell ( piano ) was not shown. No, this was in Hertfordshire, England. They were opening for The Rolling Stones.

    No that was in California they opened up for the Rolling Stones that’s why you seen some people wearing those caps with tongues. They were asked not to walk out on that stage but Ronnie Van Zandt did it anyway.

      My disappointment in myself is immeasurable and no words can adequately express my remorse regarding my inexcusable faux pas. I am mortified that I got to make such a Schoolboy error and I only try to crave your forgiveness for my brief moment of total complete and utter insanity in making this mistake. I have no excuses and I can only apologize, profusely, for my stupidity, once again. You are a good man for pointing this out to me. I'm inconsolable at the moment.....:(

    Nope. It was in England at Knobworth festival. Woodstock in 1969.

  • @kathyrais574
    @kathyrais574 Před 2 lety

    It was an all day festival like people said in Knebworth England so there were abt 6 or 7 bands, the Rolling Stones was supposed to be main attraction but these guys blew them up, there was a band after that that was lame, the 2 hr wait fot the stones, no one ever wants to follow this song, 2 hrs gave audience a chance to unwind because Stones just couldn't match the energy.
    Some people get bored in beginning which seems insane to me, the whole sing is a journey almost like 2 songs in 1, you start you with beautiful ballad of a guy leavin cause he just can't-t stay with a killer slide guitar & piano then it segways to the frenzied 3 guitar attack that reminded me of the bird is finally soaring in the clouds.
    Most requested rovck song of all time & arguably best guitar solo, it usually comes in at 1 or 2.

      I was in the Mediterranean that summer of 69. When I came back to the U.S. in the late fall it was like we had made a left turn into a parallel universe, the country changed and had turned hippy! Good times, good times!

      @@BabyDyce32 It appeared you were trying to stay awake for the song. Your low key response, head going down several times, and your eyes almost closing (and closed at times) gave me the impression you were bored or exhausted. Didn't mean to hurt you ("ouch..."). Anyhow, good luck to you and your channel, and best wishes for your successes. Woodstock took place in the 60's.
