    AI garbage!
Their own page for the Leveler feature says to only use it for informational texts since it loses the author's craft, yet their example for input is from Shakespeare! This own video shows that people will horribly misuse this technology to make bland texts and curricula

@OutCraft, It doesn't say to "only use it for informational text." At 3:56, it says "works best for informational texts." "Works best for" is not equivalent to "only use it for."
Perhaps Khanmigo itself can help! Here's a re-leveling of the paragraph in question to 7th grade:
"This method is great for texts that give information, like science or history books. However, for stories or poems, it might not work as well because changing the words could mean losing some of the special ways the author has written it."
In other words, it works fine for any type of text, but it can't preserve the artistry of literary texts, because it is literally not the original, literary text. No different from if I summarized a Shakespearean play for you. You'd understand the play, the plot, the characters, etc; but you would not get the sensation of hearing Shakespeare's actual words and rhythm -- that aspect of the art would be lost. Even though this should be obvious, it's thoughtful for Khan Academy to include such a note.
