The 12/29/17 game could be very interesting, given how close the last meeting at Rupp was (last time Calipari lost a home game against Pitino was 2/27/05 - 53-44 loss at Memphis before the 75-74 loss in the C-USA championship, which was also in Memphis).
There were negative rumors about his work ethic while he was in Lexington so it’s not too surprising he didn’t last long in the nba. On top of that, he was a shooting guard that had a weak handle, was a bad passer and played little to no defense. He had a solid motor though, a pretty outside shot, and a knack for willing his way to tough baskets with his size. Couldn’t abuse his size as much in the league.
I felt UofL had the better team this year and Cal somehow still went 2-0 against them. This was actually a really good UL team. They finished #1 in kenpom and annihilated the eventual national champion x3.
Devon Jones eh...I saw plenty of bad calls on Louisville so I get it. But they let Louisville plus way more physical inside on defense and on the glass. It was a poorly called game but it looked pretty even to me.
Won't have to worry about Jim Nantz covering the game on December 27th, since it will be on ESPN2 (although Vitale alongside Shulman could very well be covering the game).
I am gonna say this....I accept we lost ...twice but Calipari should have a title every fuckin year with the players he gets....you guys had a great tournament run though.....
