Thank you so much for this!!!! i used this software many moons ago, you made it easy to explained and had a really friendly vibe to it simple and right to the point thank you so much.
Thanks for posting this. Ive used PCDMIS and Polyworks throughout my career. I've started a new job with this old school CMM and have struggled to figure it out, using the old school manuals. I wish you had probe change angles and probe calibration.
I’m planning on doing a probe calibration soon. Just keep in mind that I’m no CMM expert but rather a machinist that has used this style a lot. I just got tired of re-explaining to new people.
excellent videos, I would like to learn to program in mcosmos but at work the cmm apex is always busy to learn, do you know any program similar to mcosmos? or where can i get it
Is there a possibilty to remeasure things? Like I have measured a circle and continue the program and it ends up red. Can i like click somewhere like go to that line and remeasure?
In my experience I will just click to measure another circle and then measure the same one again. I’m not an expert at all the software can do. When you click circle and the box pops up where you name it, there may be something in there where it allows a remeasure. I’m no QC expert but rather a machinist that’s used CMM’s a lot.
Hey, I have some decent experience with Geopak. No, you can't just click and remeasure a feature like you would on Zeiss. If you're in repeat mode and have a newer version of the software, there's a button (may be hidden) called something like "go to line" which enables you to jump to a line in the program, but you still need to run it till the end.
I know this is old but for future curious viewers… If your running the program and notice it red (it’s probably legit but..) you can click the pause button at the top, and then the back button ( |< ) to step back through the program operations to the start of the measurement. Then click play or forward ( >| ) and it will do that element again. You can also go forward step by step. Just be careful when stepping back through alignments or coordinate systems. Sometime it overwrites data but hasn’t reloaded/retaken it from a previous operation.
@@machinisttodd yes we have two different machines and something that would be helpful and save time with parts that are the same but 1 dimensions is different and to be able to get a program from one to the other

Hi dear friend. How can I define the position of the rack to change the probe?
Ours doesn’t have a rack on it.
So I’m not sure.
I’ll try to dig up some instructions on it.
You’ll have to do the CMM Configuration again and add the type of rack you have. Generally in Part Manager -> Tools -> CMM System Manager.
How do I copy and paste a program
Let me work on getting a video together for that. Thanks for asking!
