Looking at these soldiers and the aircraft they fly sure makes me proud to be an American. During 'Nam we were drafted and these folks are here for a career. Professionalism shows!

I live right net to this base and see the Raptors flying on a daily basis. I also know pilots and support staff from the 1st Fighter Wing from church and the neighborhood. Nothing but respect for these men and women. Its also really cool when they land right over the top of my car as I drive past the end of the runway.
A moment of silence to all my comrades who never returned home.

I drive by the Armistead Ave. end of the runway on a daily basis and love when the Raptors are landing right over the top of my car. This year I had the fortune to meet one of the three female Raptor pilots. It is awe inspiring to watch these incredible crews and aircraft in action so often.

This is awesome. I was with the 1st TFW/27th TFS at Langley in the mid 70s. I was a Crew Chief on F-15s.
Martin Kent where do they keep their gear when coming home? Is there a storage on the jet?
@@andrewghostronin38 ; Do you mean the flight gear? Because that is stored in the locker rooms. There are traveling pods for other jets though if pilots transfer from one base to another. From what I gather there are travel pods from the bays on the F-22, normal 4th gen jets use pods on the wing stations.

Man, I love the FF with the yellow tail, the 27TFS. I was with them in the mid 70s and was a Crew Chief on F15s. Loved that jet. I still have my patch.

So nice to see their fathers/husbands/brothers are home safely. reminds me so much when my 3 sons would wait for their daddy to get home off his ship. all those wonderful growing up years Beautiful to see. Precious memories.

Very curious about the logistics for getting these jets from Japan all the way to Virginia. Is it a non-stop flight with multiple refuelings, or do they do it in stages? And, by all means, thanks for your service!

Do they fly the jets the whole way home from Japan on the detachable fuselages or do they come back on a carrier
They don't come back on a carrier, not the F-22s. By detachable fuselages you mean drop tanks? I'm pretty sure they don't hold enough fuel to transit from Japan to Langley so they must rendez-vous with a tanker and do a couple of air to air refueling on their way.

F-35 is nice aircraft but i am not sure that they are stealth.S-400,S-500 could destroy F-35.The real stealth F-35 are in Israeli Air Force because there are better avionics.
