In this video, we give our opinion on what would happen if Mufasa (Simbas father) had lived, instead of being killed by his brother Scar. Scar was an evil lion that forcefully stole the throne (from Mufasa) and became a false king.

I think Mufasa would have killed Scar. As someone else said, look at how he reacted when the hyenas tried to kill Simba in the elephant graveyard. Not only that but when Mufasa said "don't turn your back on me Scar" and Scar said "No Mufasa perhaps you shouldn't turn your back on me", Mufasa bared his teeth, roared and jumped in front of him ready to do battle saying "is that a challenge". That showed that Mufasa would take Scar up on a challenge if Scar ever dared to challenge him. I think Mufasa would've seen the attempt on his life & on Simba's life as a challenge.

My problem with this scenario is: Mufasa was like the perfect father figure. The perfect lion. He knew what was right and wrong. I do not think he would be "consumed with anger and hatred," for Scar, even after what he did. He would almost certainly exile him though.

My theory on if Mufasa survived is:
Everything up to him beig thrown off happens, but instead of him dying, he is heavily injured and has been knocked unconcious by the fall. Simba is still convinced by Scar it's his fault his father "died" and is sent away in exile by Scar, with the hyenas sent after him to kill him. Scar proceeds to inform the pride of Mufasa's and Simba's supposed deaths while unbeknownst to them, they are both still alive, and Scar takes the throne as King.
In the meantime, Mufasa's unconcious state left him in a coma and he doesn't regain conciousness until about 3 weeks later, and knowing he's not 100%, Mufasa would seek out shelter to recuperate and heal, and once he is by another, I'll give it 3 weeks or so, he''ll go back home to Pride Rock and surprise the pride, especially Scar, who would run at the sight of Mufasa, instead of fight him when he's challenged for Mufasa's rightful place as King. Scar would be the coward he is, and always has been and would try to wriggle out of the confrontation with manipulation and lies and excuses, but it won't work with Mufasa, especially when Mufasa has been giving him a death glare the whole time. All it would take is Mufasa backing him into a corner to make him step down as King and admit to his henious crime of trying to kill him and Simba who should be dead since the hyenas were sent to kill him, and he would lie saying it was the hyena's plan and he tried to stop them- the reason the hyenas turn on him and side with Mufasa and the pride, but would not allow Scar to run, and instead of exiling Scar, Mufasa would kill him because as long as Scar is alive, no one is safe and it would be likely Scar would plot and plan to kill Mufasa again, as well as Simba, who Mufasa goes to find while leaving Sarabi and Sarafina in charge of the pride even though he wasn't going far. All this time, Simba was living with Timon and Pumbaa in their Hakuna Matata lifestyle, and Mufasa wouldn't know that because he didn't know Simba was exiled, so he would think he is dead and would search near by in the pridelands for a cub's body but to no avail and would think the hyenas ate him during the drought/dry season to get rid of the evidence/his body. This would cause Mufasa to declare Simba officially dead, and that his daughter (who is in my headcannon as Simba's younger sister and is the oldest of the litter of 4 that Sarabi had become pregnant with shortly before Mufasa's and Simba's supposed deaths), who he was surprised to have from a litter of 4 would be future Queen when Sarabi told him as soon as he finished dealing with Scar.
Also due to the drought/dry season, years later, Nala would volunteer to hunt away from the pridelands since the herds would have moved on, and in the process of hunting, she finds Simba in the jungle of all places after tracking Pumbaa who was going to be a meal for her and the pride until Simba fought her off and recognized her by her famous pin he's known since they were cubs, and he introduced her to Timon and Pumbaa. Simba and Nala have their "Can you Feel the love Tonight?" moment, then Nala tries to convince Simba to come home and at first he refuses, due to his guilt from the past, having an argument and Nala blurts that his father is still alive and has taken his place as King and has killed Scar for his crimes, and that sparks total shock in Simba just as he was about to walk away in anger. Nala explains to him his father had only been badly injured and knocked unconcious into a coma but has healed with no trace of injury, and that he has been looking for him, but believes him to be dead because of Scar telling him the lie of him running away on his own and the hyenas taking it upon themselves to try to kill him and that Scar tried to stop them, which made the hyenas turn on him.
Simba immediately runs home, while Nala informs Timon and Pumbaa and they catch up to Simba once they all reach the pridelands borders to see the wasteland it's become due to the drought/dry season that's come, and not because of Scar, it was because of nature's course as the drought/dry season was natural and always happened once a year. Simba smiles seeing Nala, Timon and Pumbaa at his side and then runs towards priderock, excited to see his father again for the first time after all those years, with Nala, Timon and Pumbaa right behind him. Rafiki sees Simba from his tree and shouts happily, knowing Simba is alive and well and also makes his way to Pride Rock. There, at Pride Rock, Mufasa at first mistakes Simba for a rogue and reprimands Nala who was behind Simba, but she quickly explains it's Simba, not a strange rogue and that she found him in the jungle while she was out hunting. Mufasa, Sarabi & the entire pride is so surprised by this and Sarabi faints from the shock. Simba's 4 siblings learn in that moment, he is their big brother Simba who they heard a lot about from Sarabi and Nala, and also from Mufasa after he returned. The oldest of the 4, who was to be future Queen said she cannot accept the throne as it is rightfully Simba's once Mufasa steps down or should something happen to him and steps down as future queen.
Mufasa, to everyone's surprise, goes ahead and steps down as king, while Sarabi steps down as queen since they won't be able to rule for much longer, and allows Simba and his bethrothed- Nala, to become the new rulers in their place. Simba and Nala step forward to the peak of Pride Rock and they both roar as an announcement they have just become King and Queen, and Mufasa, Sarabi and the rest of the pride roar in recognition and acceptance of the new king and queen. Mufasa and Sarabi were able to see the birth of their grandchildren Kiara- the future queen, and Kion- future leader of The Lion Guard, and shortly after, Mufasa and Sarabi both passed on.

What if, Mufasa nearly died in the stampede, but he lived, and simba though his father died, so simba ran away, then Nala convinced Simba to go back to the Pridelands, and Simba recognised Mufasa as his father, then he ran to him and started crying tears of joy and Mufasa recognised Simba, then it turned into a family reunion?

All the things that happened up to the hyena war happening. But what if during the war, Simba got lost in the jungle and then met Timon and Pumbaa, and then he grew up with them like in the movie. And also, Nala never dies, but Sarafina does. And in this version Sarafina and Sarabi are pivotal roles.

Mufasa had to die. Simba would’ve grew up cocky and reckless.
I have a different take. What if... Scar's plan backfires in a completely different way? Here's how it goes:
Simba is too fed up with waiting for the 'surprise', he decides to go find Mufasa to see what the surprise is. As it turns out, Mufasa DOES have a surprise for him. The two are going on a trip to another pride for the day. (For the sake of brevity, it's going to be Malka's pride). The duo head out, oblivious to Scar's intentions.
Scar signals to start the stampede. However, by the time he does that, he doesn't see Simba in the gorge. Determined the plan doesn't fail, Scar scans the gorge for Simba. Unfortunately, he trips and lands in the gorge himself. The wildebeest trample Scar to death. Frustrated that the plan failed, the hyenas then take Scar to the Elephant Graveyard and eat him.
By the time Mufasa and Simba return, it's almost evening and rain had washed away the animals' scents in the gorge. Mufasa does hear from the wildebeest that the hyenas were in the Pridelands, but they're gone now. Seeing as Mufasa can't chase off hyenas that were already outside the Pridelands, he decides to leave it be.
Suddenly, the pride realise Scar's not with them. Mufasa asks if anyone else saw Scar that day. Simba explains about the surprise and being left in the gorge, but taking off early. Mufasa realises that Scar had set everything up, and rushes to the Elephant Graveyard to confront Scar. He's shocked to see Scar's remains there, and that the hyenas ate him. The hyenas, terrified, explain the entire thing to the king, before Mufasa lets out a roar and they run away. Mufasa heads back to Pride Rock and delivers the news. At the very least, the hyenas ended up doing a favour accidentally, so he ends up leaving them in the elephant graveyard. Without Scar to organise plans, the hyenas merely try and fail to get into the Pridelands for several years. Some hyenas are slaughtered as a result of overstepping the boundary.
Simba lives a relatively good life after that in the Pridelands. He still falls in love with Nala (the two even have a childhood crush developing after a while). Also, the drought still happens, but Mufasa manages it much better. In fact, as the drought happens as Simba and Nala are adults, they are sent out on a quest to try and find some water. That leads them to the oasis (It was a waterfall away from the Pridelands). They tell the animals about it and they go to get some water. While there, Simba and Nala end up going on their romantic romp through the jungle. The two still have their cubs. If Zira did end up showing up or was in the pride at the time, she probably may have still had Nuka, Vitani and Kovu (depending on if you think Scar was their father or not. It's confirmed Kovu wasn't Scar's cub, but Nuka and Vitani is debatable.). Maybe Zira goes out to find a rogue to breed with, in order to have cubs that could take over the thorn. She feeds lies into them that Scar selected Kovu to become king, and Vitani to be the next Lion Guard leader. LK2 is relatively the same... without Timon and Pumbaa; and the Lion Guard gets a massive change: Bunga is either adopted by someone else at best, or without any family at worst. Maybe he becomes more on the serious side because of it? Who knows?

Exit scene, transition to night; Pumba washing up to shore dragging Timon behind him before Simba and Mufasa arrive back home.
Get the reference? Just because Mufasa lives, doesn’t mean Timon and Pumba don’t arrive at their Dreamhome unbeknownst to them yet and have that little talk.
@@adammartinez8061 That may be so, but in this timeline, I don't think Simba would have become friends with them. He's now living a good life in the Pridelands. And by the time Simba gets to the jungle with Nala to look for water, they're adults. I doubt Timon and Pumbaa would have tried to talk with them then.
I think, once Mufasa had recovered from his injuries, he would have gone after Scar and killed him, and then killed the hyenas. He was so fiercly protective of Simba, that he would have torn Scar apart, literally. Scar would have bern a walking dead man.

Mufasa would have had Scar hunted down and exiled. He wouldn't have just gotten away with it just like that; colluding with the hyenas to try and kill the king? War wouldn't be enough, it would have been "hunt down Scar, charge him with treason, then either exiled or beheaded".
Scar might be the smartest character in the first Lion King movie. I think it would require a lot to get him.

I'm almost positive Mufasa died because his fall wasn't broken by the stampede since there could have been an empty gap he fell straight down to.

Another way to prevent Nala from losing her life and a drought being brought on the Pride Lands from the aftermath of war can be through let’s say that instead of being consumed by revenge and being warned by Rafiki about the consequences of war, Mufasa talks with Rafiki that instead of declaring war on Scar and the Hyenas, the time has come for the Lion Guard to return to existence to which Rafiki agrees so that in case if Scar and his Hyena henchmen do still try to bring war on the Pride Lands, Mufasa and his Pride will have the Lion Guard (Fiercest, Bravest, Fastest, Strongest, and Keenest of Sight) led by Simba’s brother or sister (as the Fiercest member of the Lion Guard) ready to respond to the Hyenas’ attacks orchestrated by Scar by the time the war begins.
And then Rafiki would get Timon and Pumbaa to come back to the Pride Lands to help Mufasa and his Pride and get Timon’s Meerkat colony out of the Pride Lands and into the Hakuna Matata Jungle where they will be safe from Hyenas. And the Lion Guard would even look for anyone from among the Animals of the Pride Lands who are willing to help and fight which would lead to the Lion Guard and the fighting Animals of the Pride Lands along with Circle of Life respective Hyenas (including ones led by Jasiri’s parents) and Timon and Pumbaa getting stronger with every battle. That would strike more fear into Scar’s Hyena henchmen and they would desert Scar after making it clear to him that with so many battles having cost a lot of their numbers and the Lion Guard along with the fighting Pride Lands Animals and Circle of Life respective Hyenas having gotten stronger with every battle, Scar’s promises for food and resources are nothing but empty promises.
This would cause Scar to snap and go up to Pride Rock himself and challenge Mufasa for the throne. But Mufasa, Simba, Nala, Sarabi, Sarifina, and their Pride along with Rafiki, Timon, Pumbaa, the fighting Pride Lands Animals, and the Circle of Life respective Hyenas would anticipate this and leave Scar’s punishment up to the Lion Guard. So, Simba’s sibling who leads the Lion Guard would execute Scar by simply softly blowing in the air to call upon the Great Lions of the Past to pass judgment on Scar by sending down a twister 🌪 that swirls around Scar and consumes him to the point where only his bones are left.
After that, with things settled down and the battle between the Pride Lands and Scar along with his Hyena henchmen over, Rafiki would commend the Lion Guard for their bravery and courage in standing up to the evil that tried to consume the Pride Lands and throw the Circle of Life off balance. Rafiki would also do the same with Timon, Pumbaa, the fighting Animals of the Pride Lands and the Circle of Life respective Hyenas for standing by the Pride and the Lion Guard’s side in the Pride Lands’ time of need. Rafiki would also encourage Mufasa that he made the right decision in choosing to bring the Lion Guard back into existence rather declare war on Scar and his Hyena henchmen head on and face the consequences of war.
After that, Mufasa and Sarabi step down as King and Queen of the Pride Lands and let Simba and Nala take over as King and Queen of the Pride Lands. But then Zira who is Scar’s most loyal follower would protest against this by saying to Simba that he cannot rule the Pride Lands as Scar chose her son Kovu to be King. But Simba and his sibling would respond by saying that Scar was never the real King, that Scar never got to be King, did nothing but bring disaster and make empty promises, and that Kovu (who is at this point between his infant and juvenile years and revealing to never being tolerant of Zira’s mistreatment, lies, and cheating towards him) is not even of age yet where he can then take on the responsibilities of being King, while Timon would comment, “That’s not a King. That’s a fuzzy maraca.” The Outsiders including Vitani except Nuka who too have seen the consequences of war would turn on Zira and Nuka and agree that Kovu is not of age yet and would rather have a better life in the Pride Lands than face possible extinction from the consequences of war.
This would cause Zira to snap and try to attack Simba. So in response, Simba has Zira slaughtered on the spot for her treachery and supporting a tyrant, and Simba would even agree at Kovu and Vitani’s request to have Nuka slaughtered as well after when Kovu and Vitani explain how Nuka has been resentful towards Kovu, that Nuka cannot be trusted due to that they know that Nuka will follow in Scar and Zira’s path because of him (Nuka) being the most dedicated to Scar’s cause after Zira, and that Nuka has been bullying Kovu so much that he (Nuka) cannot be kept alive anymore.
Sometime after that, Mufasa and Sarabi are still around to meet their grandchildren Kopa (the future King), Kiara (the future Queen after Kopa due to him being the first heir), and Kion (the future Leader of the Lion Guard). Simba, Nala, Mufasa, and Sarabi take on the responsibility of training Kopa and Kiara on their respective future roles as King and Queen. Simba’s sibling along with the rest of Simba’s sibling’s Lion Guard takes on the responsibilities of training Kion and his Lion Guard friends in the ways of the Lion Guard. Vitani develops a strong loving bond with Kopa while Kovu does the same with Kiara.
Kion even develops a strong loving bond when he does it with Rani sometime in the future in Season 3 of “The Lion Guard” when he (Kion) and his Lion Guard friends along with Makini go to the Tree of Life and make that place their new home as their hearts desire, but not before Kion ahead of time before he and the Lion Guard and Makini depart for the Tree of Life also gives Vitani the Mark of the Guard along with the Roar of the Elders (even though Kion still has the Roar of the Elders as well) and lets Kopa and Vitani along with Shabaha, Tazama, Kasi, and Imara take over as the new Lion Guard. Then starting from the beginning of “Journey to the Pride Lands”, unlike originally, Kion, the Lion Guard, and Makini from that day forward officially make the Tree of Life their new home as their hearts desire and they officially become part of the Night Pride as they protect and rule the Tree of Life side by side with Rani and the other members of the Night Pride.

Mufasa would ban scar right after scar tied to kill him forever as long as scar lives and everyone who works for scar would be ban too but then they would turn on scar and eat him or so they would think simba would run to find nala because she ran away (she ran away to feel more free) they would run into toomon and pomba they become Friends and sing the song together and then go back to pride lands and look for his dad simba would see rifici helping the king mufasa because he broke his leg 20 years later simba is now old enough to rain as king simba and nala would be crowned king and queen and mufasa is very Happy for his son and for nala Scar would sneak in the wedding to see simba and see's mufasa happy for simba and full of regret he would go over to mufasa mufasa shocked and wonders of why scar came back now after 20 years have past mufasa about to attack scar says (mufasa please brother i need help im starving and near death please help me) mufasa would see simba looking at him and scar and mufasa would say (i am not king anymore you will need to talk to simba)
