@@CarlosBeo black or white hot are view modes for thermal cameras. White hot means that lighter colors represent higher heat. Black hot is the opposite.
Now I wonder if A-10 pilots really do fly around casually listening to Jazz and Country music while blowing up stuff.

@@wolfecanada6726 stable as rock in gun/rocket runs - but like the other guy said takeoffs can be tricky if you don’t have the yaw automatic correction autopilot on

Imagine DCS with playable ground units that function and feel just as good as the planes and helis. Now imagine that with some form of persistent warfare like in Foxhole. Not sure how it would work, but that would be an absolute *dream* to play.
Hell, I would love to be on the M1A2SEPv2 Abrams. Best Job Ever had hands down. let me maneuver on the enemy and shoot dismounts with canister rounds.
They do have ground unit control and operations
try IL-2 tank crew. super well done tanks combined with highly detailed maps and super well done planes. It is lower fidelity, but you get more stuff for the price, and there are a bunch of sales. Also, many servers have a sort of persistent warfare with targets to destroy or capture to take land and resources to be transported around to supply forward bases
if you have 256gb ram and 1tb memory to spare this would be amazing

Just in general interest, the term "shack" originated/was used in the vietnam war and is no longer official brevity in NATO countries. It has been superceeded by the term "splash", applying to "1. * [A/A] [S/A] Target destroyed. 2. [A/S] Weapons impact." per MCRP 3-30B.1, May 2020.
That being said, it's a game in the end and I take any coms over none. Thanks for another great video, I'll go back to rivet counting now :)

I bought the A-10c immediately when it released standalone. I had been playing KA-50 (bought retail on DVD) and knew the quality. I LOVE the A-10, and it is my go-to in most of my online playing. I like to play Sinatra when I'm on casual hunts, and Manowar when I'm going in hard, hot, and deep.
For some fun with the sim, pop the canopy when flying and listen to the wondrous sounds of the gun and missiles without the canopy as a buffer. Awesome.
It is the easiest aircraft to fly in DCS, but the systems integration is very memory-intensive and requires a good HOTAS. It all makes a lot of sense when you get it down though and is fast to engage in the right hands.
It's also fun to see what you can limp back to base with after getting shot up. You can get mad props from the discord folks by making an unlikely return to base or an epic soft landing in a field.

I sat in an A-10 cockpit during an airshow at Hanscom AFB circa 1997. I was a third grader. The aircraft was probably with the MA ANG out of Barnes ANGB at the time. They let you do cool stuff like that back then

DCS is surely the best simulator we have, but in terms of ground targets? I honestly think Arma is way more satisfying. Hitting enemies that are pinning down your ground team with a solid brrrt is the deal
they sure missed a trick in DCS having playable ground inf :) Maybe in DCS 2 - coming soon 2050 TM
That first shot is literally me and my friend when we fly together. I won’t leave the airfield until I’m rocking the Jaws skin for the a10 or the Jolly Rogers skin for the f18 and f14 but my friend on the other hand couldn’t care any less about whether he’s using the chrome skin or the Arabia Afghan 42069 airbase skin.

@09:09, that is a SA-9, or 9K31 Strela. SAM system mounted on BRDM-2 chassis.
We should be so lucky to have an expert friend to teach us to fly this bird. I bought it years ago and wound up in the fetal position after 45 minutes with the manual lol.

I love these types of missions with the A-10. As long as I can rely on friendly CAP to keep me safe from interceptors while I make rain death upon the bad guys, it feels so good when you wipe out an entire SAM site. =)

Recently bought this module in the sale and already filled up 2 whiteboards of notes a wall of paper notes after watching Ralfi’s tutorial series. Only now discovering what a beauty of a bird she is.
Well, I’ve played a lot of DCS and my first module was, you guessed it, the A 10 c ||. I only knew about this plane and game because of this video, thanks drewski.
Met a crop duster pilot that was a retired a 10 pilot. Dude wasn’t even phased with the power lines or anything cause he was do rudder over hammerhead turns and ~200ft. The a10 gives you a new definition of low flying.
The vehicle with you named scoutcar with stingers was a SA-9 Gaskin as far as I could see. Thought you wanted to know.
I used to play A10 Sim in a mac like 22 years ago. I am shocked how much it has improved since!

What does SOI actually stand for in this context?
@@michaelparker2229 "The Sensor of Interest (SOI) is used to refer to the display that is accepting inputs from the pilot, or that is controlling the currently selected weapon system." In the A-10CII it's either one of the two screens, the HUD or the helmet display.

This new overlay in the A10 looks fucking sick.
its the Head Mounted Cueing System (HMCS) part of the A-10CII. It's pretty dope, and what drewski dosn't use or show is that you can overlay your TGT pod screen onto it as well so you don't haft to keep looking at your MFD to see what its showing. My favorite feature is the ability to see the area that the TGT pod is at, and you can point the pod where you're looking (center crosshair) from the HMCS. Makes target acquisition so much easier.

I live under a MOA (Military Overflight Area) where the Fort Wayne ANG A-10's come to play and eject flares a few times a week. They fly low enough sometimes that you can see their heads in the cockpit. One flew by the other morning and woke me up that might have knocked some roofing shingles off of my house! :-) This game looks very cool, but I'm still trying to wrap my head around "Microsoft 2020 Fight", I did land a 747-800 last night with minimal debris left on the runway...
Looks beautiful. My only nitpick is the close-in tree foliage pop-in is pretty severe.
