@@Fourwedgenot fixed per se. But there's definite favoritism. There was a Stat that came out last year that the chiefs had more plays extended by DPI or defensive holding than any other team by something like a factor of 2 or 3. They just got more drive extending calls than anyone else on passing plays and it wasn't remotely close.
Same stuff that Brady used to get back in the day. Just for some reason, certain QBs get more calls by a margin that can't be explained by anomaly

Steve Tasker gave his opinion of officiating on one of his shows last season. He said its essentially the same quality as its always been - not worse currently. The reason its such a focus these days is the 'success' of the NFL's parity goals. The games are much closer than ever and often can turn on one play, or one call by the refs. That's a great take, IMHO

The weirdest reffing moment in my life to date occurred in the 2019 Wild Card game against the Texans. After a kickoff ball was not downed and the Bills claimed it in the end zone and it was called a TD originally, but then some guy on the sideline took over the scene for a second, which led to the TD being overturned.

Florio, it's NOT a huge problem for the NFL. "IF" there is a concern about a game official near the end of his officiating career being perceived as "angling" to be hired as an officiating consultant by a particular team for which he has recently made several key favorable calls, there is an EASY FIX: the NFL simplay has to institute a "cooling off" period of time wherein teams can NOT hire a retired/former official unless/until he has ceased being a game official for at least a season or two. It's just like DoD contracting officers and defense system project managers (military and civilian) being lawfully PROHIBITED from employment at a lucrative defense firm for a year ... and also after leaving government service not being able to work for at least 2 years on the same or related project(s) for the contractor that they had worked on while in government service. That eliminates any concern over conflicts of interest. Easy fix.

This isn’t the problem with Bills as much as game management and penalties extending drives against the defense. I can think of a whole seasons worth of games the Bills should have won over the years (13 seconds, missed kicks, special team errors like too many men on field, multiple kick return tds, phantom cb holding and offensive holding, pizza delivery guys catching hailmary’s with time running out). You have to be prepared to have your heart ripped out by this team even with a top QB. It will all be worth it if they win one finally though.

In that broadcast they even kept showing replays of non calls against the Eagles.
Im not an “NFL is scripted” conspiracy theorist, but even a rational Eagles fan could see something ain’t right about the lopsidedness of the penalties stacked against the Eagles’s opponents

Allen points at a defender as he goes in for a TD, as he has done on at least three other occasions with no flags, but gets a drive killing taunting penalty. Grounding is called on him in the same game while he is being roughed, refs don’t care how obvious it is.
