The audiences who asked questions are staff members of the show, mostly writers.
If you haven’t already, watch the new format of Monologue segment during 2020, 2021 lockdown/social distancing- only staffs members are in the studio and so they literally become audiences. The atmosphere and their interactions are the next level. There are scripted parts but now with much more improvised jokes and natural conversation between James and all the crews whom we know all their names by now.
I think this is the most fantastic transformation of post-covid19 late night shows segments right now.
The joy and laughs from watching them have really helped me going through these tough two years.
(And sure enough I’m now binge watching clips from the past for more laughs 🤣)
