- Therapist analyzes the lyrics of Slipknot's song "Negative One" to discuss how we all have pain living inside of us and the song calls us back to the choice of whether we are going to live our lives through that pain or if we are going to chose to live in alignment with our true, best selves. It's easy to point our fingers at others for causing our pain, but regardless of where the pain came from it is our responsibility to deal with its impact on us, and this song calls us to make the right choice.

Remember when this came out and we were all trying to figure out who the new drummer was. Now he’s gone too. Crazy!
Seriously bro 💔
Sucks at first I didn't understand why...but overall I think it was because Jay was getting ready to go through the medical issues with his hip and leg..sucks dude was badass
@@levigriffin2984 pretty much did the same thing to Joey, RIP 🕊️
@@levigriffin2984 thing is, jay is 1000% better now.
@@planetviision9702unfortunately true
"No accountability, devisibility, I point the finger but it's always looking back at me". Such a good line.
Analysis: flawless
Interpretation: doubtless
Stinkface when Corey steps in: priceless 😂
Hope everyone has a great weekend 😀
Stay (sic) 🤘🏼
If rain is what you want is an amazing song. Love the channel and your explanations.
Second this
THIRD THIS
This was an epic comeback for Slipknot. I believe this was the first single and I was blown away. I remember exactly where I was when I first heard it.
My laptop died listening to this lol.
you should SO react to their older stuff, especially IOWA. That album is nothing but pure anger and emotion. But that is also the album where corey was the most messed up.
(Highly recommend Metabolic, Everything ends, The Heretic Anthem and The shape.)
Amazing reaction!!
I knew you will love this song haha, thank you so much for react to it 🤘🏼
Listening to you breakdown these songs is making me realize the person who introduced me to slipknot didn't pay any attention to it what so ever.
YESS!!!! Another freaking awesome reaction ❤
I must say I love your videos and the way you deeply explain the lyrics. Slipknot is by far just favorite band and to hear you explain their lyrics it makes sense.
You are on point, doing amazing things ❤
You will love "corey taylor - Snuff (acoustic version)"
I love watching your reactions to these Slipknot videos, they are the best 😂😂🥰 I also find it amazing how quickly you analyze the songs and offer advice ❤
Seen Slipknot a few times. They toured this album twice... On the second round they opened the show with this - was soooo good. An incredibly powerful track. Great reaction, thank you.
Loving these videos. Also sending love to Corey and respect for cancelling the North American tours to prioritise his Mental Health and family which would have been such a hard decision. Stay safe everyone and wishing everyone power and love. Happy weekend!
Thank you.. it's a good reminder
I hope you react to Slipknot's Not Long For This World, not only an underrated song but the feelings it conveys of someone who is very depressed and suicidal is very strong and emotional.
I remember after my brother passed, this song popped up on a Playlist and it hit me like a brick fucking wall. I'm sure I had heard it before but the lyrics screamed at me this time, like he played it for me, and i stopped what i was doing and just listened. We both loved metal and slipknot.
@heartsupport I'm loving these lyrics breakdowns. You are able to explain aspects of the meanings behind lyrics i couldn't have comprehended on my own. Thanks!
You should check out Corey's acoustic show from London. The entire show is amazing. Most of the show is just him and his acoustic guitar, there are a few songs with an extra guitarist. I think you would really enjoy that show.
My favorite Slipknot song! Thank you for this one. I identify so hard with this one because it’s something I’ve struggled with for years.
I could watch you listen to Slipknot all day long. I love how much you genuinely understand and enjoy their music, and that stankface is the best! ❤
Agreed.
Her facial expressions and how much she's feeling those lyrics are awesome
First thing I noticed was the stank face, awesome 😂
I've never been lucky enough to see Slipknot, but they're music has helped me through hell
You should react to Killpop from slipknot
Yes my ex left me and yes she manipulated and lied and yes she shares a responsibility in destroying our family, but thats where it ends. How I handled it, how I sunk into depression and became something unrecognizable to myself was all on me. Makes me sad but now that I know...well...here we go!
She is so awesome interpreting this song love her!!!! 🙌🏻🫶 Shout out to Corey too & hope he is getting better!!
Thank you for what you do!
You should react to diluted, Corey doesn’t want to sing that song live cuz it’s too emotional for him
I second that, or metabolic
They will play on the 25th anniversary shows.
That song has gotten me through a lot of shit!!! And I mean a looooooooot!!!!
Anything off Iowa or self-titled is insanely powerful. Those albums literally changed my life.
one of my absolute favs!! also love virus of life because its just too much!
You need to go down a NIN rabbit hole next. Trent is very familiar with pain and suffering
I went down that rabbit hole a long time ago.
I'd love to see a full review of the self titled album or Iowa! They are both fascinating to look at from a psychological stand point. Corey offers such raw emotion in those albums along with very real struggles within the lyrics. The albums came out when I had just become a teen and I connected most with Everything Ends and Diluted.
I'd love to see reactions to some Mudvayne songs as well!
Seeing a professional therapist react to slipknot was not in my plate today, but im glad i ended up in this channel. Keep it up!! 👍 ❤
My absolute favorite song on this album
Awesome analyssis as usual! Slipknot overdose... MORE MORE MORE!!!
I swear, I Need this reminder every damn day
Another great reaction, you should check out Suicidal Tendencies, How will I laugh tomorrow or Nobody Hears. Great band and never see anyone react. Look forward to more videos!
This entire Album .5 The Grey Chapter is all of the Emotions that the band had after the death of Bassist Paul Grey, Hence “The Grey Chapter”
Best reaction to songs in YT, hands down
She totally digs it 😍
absolutely love your videos, if you haven't done it already I would love for you to react to scissors from self titled, its one of my favourites :)
“Diluted” - by SLIPKNOT next ❤❤❤❤ please!!
I would love to see you react to Surfacing, Eyeless or Prelude 3.0
Love the reactions and analysis. Would love to see you check out Lorna shore- the pain remains trilogy
I always new this song was referring to Satan, and is some kind of warning..
Thank you for breaking this down, as far as being the negative one in me, or being the genuine me... love this song sooo much more now.
You have a special gift ma'am, please don't give up on this, you're probably helping more than you think, i know one person already.
Please do more, especially with Slipknot.
Love your reaction videos. Especially to SlipknoT. Check out ‘Solway Firth’.
Keep them coming! 🤘🏽
This song is an absolute heavy banger. When you are ready to move beyond Slipknot, you should really check out "Hi Ren" by Ren.
This has become my favorite Slipknot song 💯 Cardio Challenge 10,000+ 😂
Hurt by Johnny Cash will make you cry. Klonopin by Adam Calhoun or Save Me by Jelly Roll
I've been a huge Slipknot fan for a very long time honestly honestly I probably would have killed myself without their music the breakdown on this song is hitting me really hard in a really good way. I recently experienced a death in my family as well as learning that my step grandmother has held it in her mindset set my childhood molestation and Trauma has been a cry for attention my whole entire life. I've had to learn how to live with cptsd and this knowledge has ripped open so much scar tissue . Listening to this has helped me feel a little bit more empowered than I have in weeks. Thank you so much❤
From tromboness: @sashaschoenneman3074 I'm so glad that you've been able to find the strength to go on from this music.
Your experiences of trauma are not easy. It can be despairing to have to go though what you've gone through, but you are strong for making it through this far.
I hope that you continue to find the strength you need to survive and thrive, and if the feeling get to be too much, don't hesitate to reach out.
Hold Fast.
You'd be a riot to dance with at a metal show 😂🤟🤟
Like someone else said, if rain is what you want, also the burden are great songs from this album
@heartsuppprt can you please give your insight to 'hesitate- stone sour'. Its corey's other band
You’re the best reactor 🤘
Listen to Sorry Me from his new solo album CMFT2, it talks about mental health and the way he lets himself down all the time.
I love love love what you say around 3:30 onward, so good. They say hell is the separation from God, the light. Depression, Anxiety, self-hate is basically The Negative One, Satan, Lucifer who wants to keep us away from becoming our true and good self.
We,re all waiting anxiously for Killpop....that track is a fukn monster
The Contortionist’s album Clairvoyant is an emotional masterpiece. Not this heavy, at least musically, but well worth a listen (all of their stuff is, but Clairvoyant is special)
Should do a video on Solway Firth
Feel ,it truly everyone has a negative side,
The Poet and the Pendulum (Official Live) by Nightwish. Powerful song. Powerful performance. Much to analyze in that song. Enjoy.
I loved this reaction. I think she was the only one or one of the few who really interpreted something from the song. Other people were like, "they're satanic" or "that's a dig at Joey." Waiting for Killpop and Skeptic's reaction
Love the goat scream sample at 4:15
My Life is breathing in Sulphur. My entire existence is this
Would be cool to see you listen to Leech by Angelmaker. Might be a bit heavy for you but it's pretty interesting
Slipknot!
Save my life!
this is my favourit slipknot song of all 🤷♂️
This is my favorite Album, my personal favorite is “The Devil In I”
You should look into flaw. Specifically the songs whole, and best I am. That album was great
😮 do Custer next
Fore me it's great.... salute 👹👹👹🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸☠️☠️☠️🙋🙋🙋
You should do a reaction video for my plague by slipknot
I'd be interested to hear your take on Slipknot - Medicine for the Dead. A song about depression.
I would love to see you react to behemoth
Please do Solway Firth
Fat Mike from NOFX played bass on the studio version of this
You should react to Get This by Slipknot the lyrics a so meaningful
Hello! I suggest you react to The Burden by Slipknot, it seems to be about PTSD
I love how hype you got to this lol
Do the lead song Sarcastrophe
Joey is the video! I'm not bs,ing!
Would you be down to react to Martyrdom by Seasons Awake?
"This is the third song that really deals with the inner turmoil. And I know there's a misconception out there that it's about Joey, and it's just not. And I know people are very adamant in their opinion about it, and it's just not. It’s about trying to make sense of the whole ordeal, and the thing that I realized while writing these lyrics was that Paul's death made me see what I was taking for granted, and that I was spending a lot of energy on selfish needs. I had the choice between the negative me, or who I wanted to be. And I guess if one good thing came from a tragedy like this, it's that I was able to put everything in perspective and realize that I took this band and this life for granted." Corey Taylor
The instant stinky face when Corey starts to sing at 1:00 lol
Not metal but I’d love to see video reactions of Stone Sour
I remember when this first came out and people thought this song was about Joey Jordison who just got let go (fired) from SlipKnoT.
@HeartSupport I really like your emotions and analyzes of slipknot songs.😍 Since last video you analyzed a song from the second album - iowa❤. I would like to see an analysis of other songs from this album - “Disasterpiece”, “People=shit”, “Everything ends”, because these are real heavy slipknot❤ and there is something to look of lyrics and music. But I would also like to analyze other cool and interesting songs from the 3rd album😍 - “Opium of the People”, “The Nameless”, and my favorite song “Scream”.
"All we ever sacrificed has paid" ❤
Try Lonely Day by system of the down
I’ve found you, where have you been?🎉💯🥺😁
Please react to Disturbed - A reason to fight [Official Live Video], it's the most powerful live performance I know with a great message. Greetings from Germany 😊 love your reactions and thoughts
Purity the next pls!
❤
Again, please, Pittsburgh by The Amity Affliction.
My life boiled down to a music video. We were supposed to get a Grammy for that one!!!
Why in the hell would slipknot getting a Grammy be a good thing? The Grammys are the least metal thing out there. Fuck the Grammys. Based on all these comments, it's clear to me slipknot sold out a long time ago. Iowa was their last great album, the last album they did before selling out, and being watered down, radio metal.
@@metalmacabre9991 uh that's what happens when you work for the man. At least they're free to do whatever they want now.
Pure power .....😜,grüsse aus Deutschland 😘!!!!!!!!!!
you should React to "Metabolic" by slikpnot?
you should listen "a tu le monde" from Megadeth , is a very good song that speaks about suicidal thoughts
❤❤❤❤❤
You should definitely react to Infant Annihilator's song blasphemian.
❤❤❤❤
Can you please react to more songs from the Iowa album PLEASE😭😭😭
Can you do the nameless next
I agree
Slipknot Killpop
Man I still highly recommend Rise Against they hit on a lot of topics.
