Gareth Edwards try against NZ for the Barbarians in 1973. This is one of the greatest counter attacking tries ever

As its topical, the very last try in the video has a good (bad!) example of a cheap shop on the try scorer by an opposition player. Lots of players are getting injured by these cheap shots at the point of scoring and referees need to start issuing cards.
Genuine question does Union not have anything rules wise like League where if you commit an offence against a player who is the act of scoring a try you get an additional penalty kick at goal from in front of the sticks?
@@michaelscott7166 Good question!! - I didn't realise that that was the case in League. To answer your question: "No" there isnt an additional penalty. However its entirely possible to yellow card (or RED(!)) a player who commits such an offense.
Several players in Union have suffered significant injuries (usually cracked ribs) but there is no serious attempt to deal with the issue. However I like the League solution. Cheers.
@@MrRugbylane It's a very rare occurance as if the foul play happens after the ball is grounded then it's a penalty on half way (obviously still kickable) instead of a kick off. Any way here's an example

Forward passes are judged in relation to the player passing the ball, not in relation to the field. It's possible for a legal backward pass to go a long way forward. This one was pretty much level.

If YOU knew anything about rugby then you would understand this: The Saudony try was scored in a test match, and although not a great AB's side, they were certainly far more testing opposition than the AB's in the early '70's - one of the weakest periods in their history. Also, the French try didn't have any forward passes in it.
The Baa Baas try is celebrated by British romantics, with fuck-all rugby knowledge, clinging to any victory over NZ. And also by children. Which category are you in?

very dissapointing... what about the two length of the field tries by bryan habana against australia way back when. What about the Takudzwa Ngwenya try against the springboks in the 2007 world cup?
Rugby UNION tries ... some of these are superb but some are just bang average that you see week in, week out, that Argentina try had two forward passes (incl the final pass) and a foot in touch.
And in any case, 'counter attack' doesn't count for an interception.
The sport is called rugby. "Rugby union" is a retronym, like "field hockey", "association football", or "real tennis". It can be used for disambiguation, but it's not the actual name of the sport.

May not be any from the All Blacks but there are a huge number of tries there that are either set up/scored by All Blacks, as well as one scored by a New Zealand super rugby side.
