  • UPDATE: With the 2021S2 build this doesn't work any longer in the Porsche Cup car since we now can burn the clutch ;-)
Since I often get that question on streams I thought I might as well just make a guide how to do those really good standing starts.

    1: setup clutch software
2: practice and tune against AI
3: qualify 13 because I took too long practicing starts and no time practicing qually.

I have a way to do this without any other software:
Set secondary clutch to button on wheel (0 or 100% clutch)
Now set your foot clutch in iRacing to only 43% (to do this hold done when your clutch is only pressed to 43% then it will be 43% at full pressure)
On-Grid depress the full actual clutch (which will be 43%) and button (will be 100% clutch) - now full throttle
at green lights release button - car will be at 43% clutch and you can throttle clutch like normal with foot

@@gesunderpsychopath8569 Going from ACC public lobbies to iRacing is 100% worth the extra money. The cost of it is a strain on me personally, but I still find it fully worth it for the quality of racing.
Biggest adjustment is understanding the braking is completely different and the cars are a bit twitchy.
I've learned a massive amount in iRacing so far, and got to compete against known drivers that I had no business sharing a racetrack with.

I think an easier solution to not having three feet is to map the brakes to both the brake pedal and a button on your wheel (100% braking whenever the button is pressed). This way you can use the clutch and gas pedals with your feet while holding down the brakes and there is no need for vJoy. Once the race is ongoing you can move your left foot to the brake pedal.

I thought it was the button not engaging properly but that's not the case. Everything is working fine and I've even achieved the same issue while doing the clutch manually without any buttons. Almost like it glitches the clutch maybe? I'm wondering if you've seen this issue or had it yourself and had some feedback that may help. Thanks!

I am using Method 3 and have followed your instructions exactly as you explained, however when i tested it in a "test session", the car starts the same as it would with anti stall clutch, no faster. I even deliberately let go of the clutch button early to see if i could get wheelspin like you did in your video. I got no wheelspin.......OOPS, ok i figured it out. Doing it in the right order is a MUST, Brake, Throttle, Button clutch, 1st gear. I was putting the button clutch last. Works great now! Thanks Dan!

@@DanSuzuki That's great! I think my biggest weakness is proper brake control. I've noticed most guys over 2k irating generally brake way later than I feel I can to to hit the apex. I'm not talking about trail braking, I do that ok, but the corners where trail braking isn't as effective. I'm at my ceiling of around 1750 irating and until I get better at braking I think I'm stuck there.

Not sure what is the benefit of the dual clutch if you use it like this with the brake pedal oved the First simple method. In both methods you release the brake when the gear is allready ingaged so what is the benefit? The slow release of the clutch?

I've tried this, got the clutch to work at 43% and followed the exact sequence - brake, throttle, 43% clutch button, first gear. However, when you change to first gear your throttle drops in the video to have a smooth engine sound (but you're still holding down maximally). Mine holds full throttle on the engine still at max revs. What am I doing wrong?

Hi, long shot here for some advice. I got this working on my Logitech DFGT but since coming back to PC now when I run vjoy, UCR and the Logitech wheel software it only allows my steering to turn about 90 degrees left or right and the wheel turns very fast in game. I could only fix this by reinstalling the Logitech profiler
Is there a way to fix this without having to do that every time?
