We don't have the paper Canadian dollar anymore! We have a one dollar coin..the loonie. If the dollar has a mistake or uncirculated it could have value otherwise not much. We turned all our paper $1. ,$2 and pennies into the bank. They are obsolete now.

Most 1980's and 90's sports cards are worthless because they were so mass produced. Postage stamps have totally tanked in value. I wonder if they just left the stuff that had low value so wasn't worth the trouble. The old postcards don't have much value unless they are Halloween theme. Antique Halloween post cards in good condition are worth crazy money.
I would not have paid $1000 for that, but at least it looked neatly stored

Just Jeff, the Canadian dollar is just like any coins or other printed money. There are variables such as who issued, what names are on it, what year is it, how well is it preserved, what mint produced it, are there any errors on it. Best to go to experts for that or do an awful lot of studying.
I wonder if the owners were dealers in cards and various other things. Maybe at Flee Markets?
That looks like it's more work than a twenty footer loaded with household goods. You'll have 2 full time employees on that for a month.
