Don't like sports but like gaming? Then the latest craze might be for you: exergaming. This combination of exercise and gaming is already extremely popular outside Europe, and now it is also possible in the Netherlands.
In Almelo there is a gym where there are no more treadmills and training equipment, but only game consoles such as the Nintendo Wii, Xbox and Playstation. It started as a way to get people with disabilities more active.
The computer game programs appear to be eminently suitable for removing physical barriers that occur in the real world for people with physical and mental disabilities. But now everyone (young and old) is welcome in Almelo to exergamate.
