    👋 A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
    Hi! I’m Christina, the chief cook and bottle washer behind It Is a Keeper. I’m a self-proclaimed recipe hoarder that reads cook books cover to cover like most people ready a juicy novel. It Is a Keeper is a look into my kitchen. You get a first-hand look at what we are really eating. Most of the things I cook are not fancy and I don’t use hard to find ingredients. They are everyday recipes for everyday life. I know what it’s like to manage an active family. Good point that on cast iron grills you're trying to scrape off the chunks and build up from the grill, and not trying to scrape the grill too hard as it is seasoning itself with repeated usage.

      @ItIsaKeeper  Před 7 lety

      yes, you don't want to remove any of the seasoning that's been built up. Just the gunk.

    Great video, Good advice throughout and I enjoyed the presentation.
    I actually just got the Napolean XT 525 (the 2021 version of your model I believe) on clearance at my local Lowes for $200! FIgured I'd mention it, if you were ready to finally replace the one in this video, since this video is 7 years old now. :P

    I cover the tray that comes out with foil. It makes it so much easier to clean!

    Thanks! Do I have to cover my grill after every use? Do I have to disconnect gaz everytime I put the cover or just for the winter?

    • @ItIsaKeeper
      @ItIsaKeeper  Před 8 lety

      I usually cover mine each time I use it. I wait for it to completely cool before putting the cover on. We only disconnect the gas at the end of the grilling season. However, you should make sure you turn off the gas valve after each use.

    I have a charbroil grill with stainless steel grills.i was told not to use sos pads as it will take off the protective coating.whats the best way to clean them?

    • @ItIsaKeeper
      @ItIsaKeeper  Před 8 lety +1

      I would check with the specifications for your particular grill -- you can probably find them online.

    What brand of cleaners do you use inside and out?

    • @ItIsaKeeper
      @ItIsaKeeper  Před 7 lety

      I use Simple Green for a degreaser and Carbona's stainless steel cleaner.

    Hmm, you're not really cleaning out everything, and some Napoleon webpages suggest using soupy water to clean the flavor bars, inside of grill and the grease trap. Thoughts?

    • @ItIsaKeeper
      @ItIsaKeeper  Před 7 lety +1

      You can definitely use soapy water if you'd like.
