They aren’t covering the movie version they are covering the R&B version that plays over the end credits from the animated Aladdin. That version was sung by Peabo Bryson and Regina Belle. You should compare those two versions. I think there’s a lot you could analyze, comparing R&B vocals of the 90s vs pop vocals of today.

Asking Zayn to dance... my directioner brain cackled. Zayn being very resistant to learning to dance from way back. He was part of One Direction and they got their start on the X-Factor. The contestants had to learn choreography and they had to basically force him to comply. So yeah. He's definitely not a dancer.

Zayn has an insane vocal range and experiments a lot with his voice. He can sing it all, rock, pop, R&B, even reggae...you should listen to Dusk til Dawn acoustic version for the most amazing high note at the end

I really love this version. Its like they switched the roles of the voices and now Zayn is the lead vocals instead of Jasmine/Zavia. Like Aladdin is finally leading the song and not Jasmine. And their voices really fit well together.

Nope. that's just her style. Zhavia is American 😂 Very unusual and unique technique, huh? Honestly, I love this duet. I love it so much more than the original or anything.....THIS is my favorite. Like a modern, almost R&B version. Zayn brings the sultry, almost sexy texture, while Zhavia brings the deep raw confidence sprinkled on top. I love it. Thx for the reaction

I’m not sure what you’re calling the original, text when I think of the original I think of peobo Bryson and Regina Bell. That was already on R&B version. But if you’re talking about the one that was in the movie then yeah obviously that wasn’t R&B.

It’s not my absolute favorite but I did end up loving this one because it definitely has it’s own vibe, which they own.
Favorite for me is still the OG (Lea and Brad from the animated film), then actually this one, then Peabo and Regina, then the one from the live action film. All of them are really good but that just my personal list.

I agree, it was. Zayn requested Zahiva to be his duet partner so I don't know why they would be a bad match. Ha has enough experience to know how he sounds good, so the only issue can be in the mix. Haven't heard the song in a while but I recall its very r&b (especially the vocals), so of course its not perfect. Maybe that's why its not a good "match". But I love the song and zayns vocals so will go and listen to him for the rest of the day

Zayn has an interesting voice, but I do find in some songs, he seems to sing so nonchalantly that he sometimes sounds lazy and like he can’t be bothered to put in any real effort and he calls that his style. When he enunciates more, he sounds amazing.

No that legit is how he sings most times. It has to do with his accent. He’s very technical with how he sings and his pronunciation is his accent really. They use to tease him back in one direction for it.
