I DIY'ed myself a connector to attach my Feiyu-Tech G4 Handheld Steady Gimbal (www.aliexpress....) to the GoPro Suction Cup Mount which was attached to my bike's fuel tank. My Facebook friends already know that my experiment's gone very wrong...
BUT the recorded footage before disaster struck looks fantastic IMO.

I basically used a piece of plastic tube to fit the gimbal's handle. This piece of plastic tube got screwed onto a GoPro buckle which can then be mounted on top of the NEW GoPro suction cup mount. Unfortunately the screws failed and I smashed my beloved Hero4 camera after 40 minutes of filming and riding. This almost meant the end to my filming season this year.
Miraculously the G4 gimbal survived the impact onto the road while doing more than 80kph. Check out my Facebook Page to see the video of the gimbal and camera falling off my bike...

+Stratum Runs I never did anything for exposure because I can't stand social media folks who advertise themselves. I always was fine with how things went here. But since a couple of months I'm actually losing subscribers and I'm not exactly happy about that. Thanks a lot for the suggestions regarding the Q&A thing. It's worth a try although I'm pretty sure it won't work too well. Because even with the first Q&A video a stunning lot of the questions I received were more or less asking for the same answers. I don't think these questions will change over the course of a month.

Ich sehe es ähnlich wie bios, wenn man nicht überall zu 120% present ist bei fb, google+, yt, und weiß der Geier wo sonst noch wirds schwer. Das weitaus größere Problem ist jedoch, dass das was die Leute sehen wollen nicht dem entspricht was du zeigst. Schau dir doch mal die Videos von den größeren Motorchannels an.
Ein Großteil sucht nach Dingen wie " r6 do wheelies" oder "Nahtoderfahrung mit einer Fireblade". Solange man nicht völlig über sein Können hinaus fährt, nicht beinahe in den Büschen landet oder generell unterwegs ist wie ein Geisterfahrer wird es schwer werden genügens Klicks zu bekommen.
Natürlich geht es auch anders, wie z.b. bei RoyalJordan oder wie der channel hieß. Der hat aber auch eher einen Quasselchannel wo es primär ums reden und testen von Bikes geht.
Was viele leute sehen wollen:
1) Unfälle
2) Teure Bikes
3) Fahren gegen jede Regel
4) Actionvideos mit epischen Szenen und Musikuntermalung
Ich finde deine Videos gut, keine Frage, vorallem weil ich auch mal eine cb500 hatte, nur leider denken 99% der Leute anders als wir und können damit nix anfangen wenn jemand mit einer kleinen Maschine zeigt was er kann und wissen das auch nicht zu schätzen :/
Ich bin jedes mal von neuem verblüfft, was du aus deinem Mopped rausholst. Krass!

Ooooooooh that is so strange to watch compared to the fixed helmet camera view. I found myself banking with each corner because the camera was staying level. I love the "tiny backwheel slip" reference, that would have been a "LARGE BROWN TROUSERS" reference if it was me. Yet again another great video, even though it made me lean from side to side in my chair. Have a Good Christmas and a Happy New Year. Nice!...Die Halterung auf dem Ausgleichsbehälter...da vielleicht den Gimbal anbringen, wenns irgendwie geht? Fände die Einstellung mal interessant, dich auf so einer schnellen Straße zu sehen, was so Fahrver(gnügen)halten angeht und deine Technik. Und dann eben noch der stabilisierende Effekt vom Gimbal...Mhhh :D

The tiny slip was no big deal though. I know this road very well. The tarmac is very good but the grip level is not the best. You have to ride carefully when you reach big lean angles. As long as you stay alert and careful you'll end up with small slips and no big disasters :D

Love your videos man, these are what made me decide to get a gimbal! I'm curious what setting you use to have the camera only look forward? I had my Feiyu WG on the first, one-click setting and it kept tracking left and right and made the footage look odd. Keep it up!
+chixwithtrix I was afraid of this happening with the G4 as well since I experienced similar things with my previous gimbal, the G3 Ultra. Unfortunately I don't have a secret recipe. It simply worked on the first click setting this time. Thanks for the nice words though :)

Hey Schaaf, would be interesting to see you doing those roads of yours on a few different bikes... Maybe test riding a few of the new bikes?
+Tris Desnos that's JUST the idea I had for this year. The trouble is: I don't manage to get any bikes to test ride. Only a few friends are crazy enough to give me their bikes. And most dealers are too far into town. They usually give you 30min to test the bike. I'd need at least 3 hours to get comfortable and to reach this stretch of road.
+Schaaf Perhaps if you bring to attention the fact that you have 16K followers on your channel and you'd mention their business etc they may be persuaded to give you an extended test ride period. I've never done it myself, but I've noticed a lot of English moto loggers seem to do it... But they don't ride like you or have access to those roads you have :)

+707LAKE thanks! Yep. I used small screws to connect the tube and the GoPro suction cup mount. The screws came off probably because of the bike's vibrations. I recommend buying the G3/G4 clamp from sailvideosystem.com or get a WG gimbal from Feiyu-Tech. I'll definitely test the WG version for my stuff next season

I cant belive Im saying this but I'm not a fan of this point of view with the gimbal, it took all of the camber away from the shot and made it look like the mountain was flattened out by a giant steam roller. it would of been cool to of had an angle just behind the fork leg showing the front wheel on the clutch side kinda like what your left knee would see if it had eyes that would of been awsome to bad there was an accident with the gimbal

+ilovecandy not really. 2 or 3 years ago I started to think that maybe it's the CB which makes me fast and not my skills. This year I finally tried a couple of bigger bikes and now I know for sure. Riding an old CB500 is more like riding a bicycle than anything else. I can't really transfer any of my skills to different bikes. I'm just glad I never claimed I'm a skilled biker. I'm a skilled CB500 rider ;)
