This isn't the first instance of implied metafiction in the Crash series. Von Clutch owns every game in the series, and in Twinsanity Cortex laments the poor reception of The Wrath of Cortex.
That could be possible as to why Coco Bandicoot is a gamer in the first place. Maybe N. Gin has introduced Coco to video games in the first place while doing some testings in Cortex’s laboratory? I think that Coco Bandicoot will be a great game developer. She could probably work at other game development studios to help them make games. That’s a great theory video CGE.
N. Gin was a nameless Lab Assistant until Cortex accidentally hit him with a rocket misfire and Cortex took the opportunity to enhance Doctor N Gin at the cost of his own sanity.
I mean there was 2 of a same game where in Crash Purple Ripto’s Rampage you go through the adventure as Crash and Spyro Orange The Cortex Conspiracy where you play as Spyro. Even through they exist, I remembered that Crash and Coco only knew they beat Cortex only 3 times.. it’s possible that Spyro eventually visit them eventually and started doing this collab but that’s all I can think of from this.

Great video! However, there are a few things I think you are missing. First of all, remember that Aku Aku and Uka Uka were also once supposedly natives long before Papu Papu was around. So while it does make sense to say that the tribe created the games, it does not necessarily mean Papu Papu was around for the origins of the games. (Also he could still be added later for all we know, so his absence does not necessarily mean anything yet, even though it is weird that none of the natives are there besides the masks) Secondly, there is a loading screen tip in Rumble that specifically says that Wumpa Fruit grow in crates, but you are right that a harvest season does imply that it can only take place at certain times of the year. That said, the Wumpa Games may be more symbolic now and may have evolved over time (evidenced by the relic stations existence as the OG natives were unlikely to have that kind of tech) becoming less traditional over time. Similarly, just like with real life agriculture, perhaps they have developed a way to grow Wumpa year round, negating the necessity for a particular "harvest season" I do agree that the Tawna and N.Tropy thing makes no sense at all though. None of this debunks your theory, if anything , I also see this being a game created by Coco but based on a "real" sport in their world, similar to how the Madden games are, and the lore explanation may be an explanation of the origin of this "real" in universe sport, even though we are just playing a simulation of it. Overall, I agree, just figured I'd add a few additions and corrections.
Here’s what I think. The Wampa Harvest started out in the main dimension we know about, but Coco was like, “hey you know what would be cool? How about we make this a team battle across the multiverse? Get our friends and rivals from other Dimensions to join in the harvest” and then Coco started to set up everything, even getting a commentator. Either that or Coco just created a game based off the wampa harvest but on a grander scale. Or could simply be a classic case of breaking the 4th wall and meta humour
In that final cutscene where they're playing crash team rumble on the couch, it ends with Aku Aku looking out at the islands. I think he's feeling nostalgic. Perhaps when he was still human, he competed in the harvest competitions.

The existence of the comics is evidence that the events in Rumble are taking place, unlike Crash Team Racing we just don't know what started this event between the characters. If it were all just a game why would the devs bother with using the comics to explain Catbat and the Spyro characters? If it were all just a game then they would just be dumped in there with no explanation. I think Toys For Bob is just holding off on the story premise and are focusing more on the seasons and bug fixes for now. Now this doesn't necessarily mean that Coco can't have developed a game based on the Events taking place in Rumble, which is where most of this evidence points towards.

Back in the 80s there was a television series (St. Elsewhere) where the finale implied the events of the series were all part of a child's imagination. One of the criticism I have for the game would be the lack of intended cutscenes or a short in-game story mode that gave more juice to the lore, similar to team racing or... yeah Crash Bash (still like more rumble than Bash 😅) I'm not counting comics uploaded by Toys for Bob... but I even would've liked more these ones were also added to the main game, maybe just in a section from the main menu to see it.

Crash Team Racing and the PS2 games are now alternate dimensions after Crash 4 brought back the multiverse setting to the series. The Bermugula's Orbit dimension in Crash 4 has references to Nitro Kart and Nitro Fueled, implying that this is the Racing dimension. I think Rumble is more interesting as an alternate dimension and deserves to be one. To explain your points about the teams and wumpa collecting, it already happened in Crash Team Racing. Characters that should hate each other were competing in harmless races before Oxide showed up, and items that belong to a specific character like Brio's beakers are used by everyone as a game mechanic. The wumpa collecting in Rumble is half being a game mechanic and half being a harvest season tradition turned into a competitive sport played in other places, at any time of the year. The videogame that we see them playing at the end of Crash 4 could be a parody of Rumble, while the real Rumble that we play is the story given by Toys for Bob in that Q&A. I think as an alternate dimension, Rumble has more space to grow since Toys for Bob don't have to worry about adding characters that haven't appeared in the main timeline (Crash 1 to 4) yet or Rumble being the debut of other guest characters in the Crash franchise, as it could eventually be Banjo-Kazooie now that Toys for Bob is an Xbox studio.

N.Sane has time travel via the Time Twister, which is how Coco is playable in 1 and 2, so she would be able to know Ripper Roo as he was in Crash 1 as well.

OK, so here's my theory: The N. Sane Trilogy and CTR Nitro-Fueled are also games within the Crash universe, developed by Coco and "based on a true story". The Spyro Reignited Trilogy also exists as a game, which is why Crash has a Spyro pool toy.
Why are there no credits for the art and voice acting in that besties skit? Multiple people have asked who did it in the comments, and nobody's received an answer. As an artist and amateur voice actor myself, that kinda rubs me the wrong way.

Reboot Crash was in Skylanders before Crash 4. And Coco was in Skylanders Academy too, which is a Netflix Skylanders thing but still could count.

Coco is coming off increasingly as Toys For Bob's avatar, I can buy they are a merticulous tech loving group that's into e sports and 'hardcore' gaming, especially seeing how they designed their two Crash games. Even the whole 'competitive little sibling' angle kinda fits them being a much smaller group than most of the other developers under Activision.

@@CanadianGuyEhof course one of Crash Bandicoot 4's Concept art shows Crash and Coco Playing Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, So it's possible the characters from Nitro fueled will be in the game since CTRNF was a Game simulation Coco was playtesting just like Crash Team Rumble within the Crash Bandicoot Universe.

OK, so here's my theory:
The N. Sane Trilogy and CTR Nitro-Fueled are also games within the Crash universe, developed by Coco and "based on a true story". The Spyro Reignited Trilogy also exists as a game, which is why Crash has a Spyro pool toy.

Why are there no credits for the art and voice acting in that besties skit? Multiple people have asked who did it in the comments, and nobody's received an answer. As an artist and amateur voice actor myself, that kinda rubs me the wrong way.
