Tu Kaha Sensory Room

Tu Kaha, the sub-acute unit in the Mid North has the first sensory room in Northland and potentially New Zealand.
“A part of a bigger project in the development of a rongoā sensory garden, the sensory room provides people a safe space to have appointments, meet visitors or just be in a calm place to spend some time,” offered Occupational Therapist Sonya Marais, Mid North Community Mental Health and Addiction Services.
