The mobile Diagnostic Van is a 2022 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter fully equipped diagnostic clinic, with a dual-purpose ultrasound scanner, computer, WiFi, a bed, as well as air conditioning to keep patients and staff comfortable.
The van enables health specialties to provide a range of diagnostic, assessment and treatment services for people, closer to their homes and without them needing to visit a hospital.
Te Pahi O Ngā Iwi is a fully connected, mobile clinic with the same capabilities of an in-hospital clinic room. It connects to the Te Whatu Ora network infrastructure using the cellular (mobile phone) network.
This connection goes via VPN to enable secure transfer of echo imaging, access to hospital systems, and secure video conferencing.
It requires external ‘caravan type’ power to operate, along with a good strength cellular signal.
