I am half European and half Asian. I spent most of my life in Japan and now I'm in Germany. I had never dated a Turkish woman while I was in Turkey, but from what I have seen, the concept of family is very strong among Turks. I saw many men walking their babies in parks, taking their children for a walk, sliding down the slide with their daughter, running with her and having fun 🙂 In Japan, you don't even hug your parents. There is always distance. I hugged more people in Turkey than I have ever hugged in my life 😅 It seemed very strange at first, but over time I realized that this is food for the soul 🙂 Turks are very warm-blooded people. You completely feel the sincerity. In this respect, they are very similar to Mediterranean people. I think they are very similar to Italians, Greeks, and especially Spanish. For now, Türkiye is the country of my retirement dreams.

But they forgot to tell you that those soap operas are airing once a week, not every day. So you don't spend 2 hours every day on the same show. However there are other shows. Like for example you have Lale Devri on Thursday, Canan on Friday, Yer Gok Ask on Saturday etc.

Yes. Though it became more of a tradition than sign of respect now, especially in country side. It's not a big deal if you do not attempt to kiss the hand I think, but I generally tend to comply when that is shown to me to kiss :P

My relatives lived in Gevgelija in the Ottoman Era and ı heard so many stories about how they really get on well with their Greek neighbours no matter what we lived together and we are brothers with a similar culture and people.
