He couldn't say no to that cute noise. 😂 That kitten was the sweetest kitty we ever had. But sadly we lost her at 14 years old recently last month. We tried our absolute best to save her, but the doctor said there's not much else we can do since trying to prolong her death meant more suffering for her and more money down the drain. So we let her go and cross the rainbow... He tries not to talk about it and gets upset when we do, but I know it's because he really misses her like we do. 😟

This was my dad with our dog! Hated dogs, only ever allowed us to own cats growing up. My mom loved dogs. I got in a bad car crash and used it as guilt for him to get a small dog. He talked crap about her everyday. Got so mad when she had accidents or barked. Now if she has a accident it's all "oh no, you dont feel good? I've seen this with my mom's boyfriends. One of my mom's boyfriends didn't have any objections when my mom got me a kitten for my birthday ages ago (back when I was a teen). I named the calico kitten Spicy. What I was not expecting was him to then bring home a gorgeous white Siamese mix, putting her down and declaring "Sugar is better than spice!" And so we had Sugar and Spicy, lol. I'm sure my mom was the one to facilitate getting the second kitten (she was older than Spicy though), but I wasn't expecting him to be so gung-ho about the cat.

I had the exact same experience with my mom when I got my first and only cat. She always said she's allergic to cats and we can't keep one and finally someday I told here we're having a cat, I don't care, and in the end she loved her as much as I did, as if not more. He talked crap about her everyday. Got so mad when she had accidents or barked. Now if she has a accident it's all "oh no, you dont feel good? Cats have oil glands in their foreheads & back, so when they rub against something they're using their scent/oils to "mark their territory". :) So the cat rubbing its head or back on you is them telling you that you're part of their clan/family. :D They're letting other cats & animals know this, too, as the others can smell it.

I've seen this with my mom's boyfriends. One of my mom's boyfriends didn't have any objections when my mom got me a kitten for my birthday ages ago (back when I was a teen). I named the calico kitten Spicy. What I was not expecting was him to then bring home a gorgeous white Siamese mix, putting her down and declaring "Sugar is better than spice!" And so we had Sugar and Spicy, lol. I'm sure my mom was the one to facilitate getting the second kitten (she was older than Spicy though), but I wasn't expecting him to be so gung-ho about the cat.

I had the exact same experience with my mom when I got my first and only cat. She always said she's allergic to cats and we can't keep one and finally someday I told here we're having a cat, I don't care, and in the end she loved her as much as I did, as if not more. She kept her close and even allowed the cat to sleep with her in the bed. Cats are amazing.
