  • A drive thru town, and I was depressed and sad over the continuing mistreatment and neglect of the first Americans. My commentary. We can spend trillions killing people in the middle east, yet we have little to nothing for these people.

    I loved the beautiful Blackfeet reservation when I visited Montana. Beautiful scenery, ranches, and animals. Free roaming horses and cattle in the road. Beautiful night sky. Nice people in Browning. I didn't see it as a war camp. It's a beautiful place many call home.

    Only the ignorant judge by a glance. I'm from there, and it's home to me. Beautiful people, just like me, ahoo.

      Do you remember Grace...who lived in Butte? I think she passed a few years ago. She worked at the Super 8 in Butte...she was a beautiful soul....

    You can call it a prisoner of war camp. I left in 1988 After graduating from the black feet community college. Over the next 36 years, I was able to come and go as I please. You can't do that in a Prisoner of war camp. I love Browning but the Indian government is lacking. Since 1988, 36 years what changes are there? Community college got a Huge face left, new high school, New casino, New grocery store, and New Subway. If anybody else can add new, Please share. I remember when the pencil factory was running. I remember when they had 3 or 4 restaurants running. I remember the war bonnet lodge and motel across the street that was runned by Heather, both leveled. I remember Bob Scriver museum on the West End of town. I think they call it the museum of the plains Indian. Kind of funny over here in here in Oregon and Washington. They don't like me using the word Indian like it's a bad word. They want me to say Native American. I just tell them, I am not ashamed of the word Indian! So the last 36 years, there is nothing I can see where the people there are prospering and better off. At 1 time and probably still now, all blame was on the white people. I put some blame on Federal government but I put most of the blame on the local government. Lining their pockets, getting rich and doing nothing for the reservation. The truth is in the pudding and I have not seen it in 36 years.

      I'm from Oregon, moved here to Montana for a jib. I miss Oregon a bunch, but I remember being raised to say Native American. And even the Native Americans that my family knew said to refer to them as such. Then I lived in Grand Ronde for nearly 3 years and they called themselves Indians.

    I’ve been to Browning many, many times. I find the people there to be very accommodating and friendly.

    “B.T.B.C.” - Blackfeet Tribal Business Council, a nine-member elected council. You were looking at a campaign sign. Most are hand painted.

      Do you remember a woman born and raised there named Grace? She worked at the super 8 in Butte, was one of the nicest most sincere people I have ever met…She would be about 60 today, I heard she passed

      Wow. She sure was a nice person. Like I mentioned, the only two people who noticed I had been very sick and were truly concerned were Grace and one other person in the Seattle area. I will never forget her... :-)

      Your right. I left the rez when i graduated from high school. Worked my way thru collage and became successful. You can make your own way in life. It's a person's choice to excell or not to.

      I left Browning in 1988 after graduating from black feet community college. I went to Portland Oregon, into the army, back to Portland Oregon, and Spokane county every since. I have run my business for the last 24 years. There are a couple of things I always kept myself away from. I always kept myself away from people who were prejudice and those who were hooked to addiction. If a person is to succeed in life, You have to surround yourself with positive and good energy.

    • @MetalTeamster
      @MetalTeamster  Před 4 lety +2

      I believe it is a " reservation "... I use the term " prisoner of war camp " in honor of Russel Means. That is what he described " Indian reservations " as.... And I believe he is right.
