When I lived in California and rode GMR on the weekends I was the same way. Definitely preferred riding uphill in the canyons. You can stop much quicker and maneuver better going uphill as opposed to going downhill. In a canyon with a cliff on one side, momentum the bike carries is critical to how it feels and you carry more momentum going downhill which feels more sketchy.
Just be careful! I got hit by a SUV at the bottom first turn at GMR, I was exiting and he was entering the canyon, and he crossed over the double yellow into my lane around that first blind turn and hit me head on. Broke my neck, nose, orbital, mandible, and arm in that one.
I have a few old videos on "my channel" (only posted to show friends, I don't make vids) of me riding up there. Definitely miss riding there!
Did you recover 100%?
I’ve been running Q4’s on track for the past year and they HOOK! Not the longest lasting tire out there but I’ve never felt them push out of lose grip. 1-2 laps to warm them up depending on temp and then send it. Ken Hill just did a test at my local track Jennings and tested the Q4 against slicks and they came out with impressive results! Awesome to see you shredding on a tire a lot of us street/track guys run
Always great content cool to see a pro racer just having fun on the street. I'll be at the Road America race in June. Definitely would be cool to ride with ya sometime
Wow, those drifts are sick! I really enjoy watching how you handle this Panigale v2. I fell in love with Panigale too and seeing how you use this motorcycle to it's full potential is just stunning. Another great video, keep up the amazing content Josh!
Doing great man!! I'm excited to see you have loads of fun and meet other youtubers and create some legendary footage 🙏🙏👏
Sick video guys!! Glad to see you out there having fun with riding. I hope you can eventually make it out to TN for a group ride.
Your videos are great! I love that V2 can’t wait to see more!
Been watching forever, I’m so excited for the future of this channel
Josh, I've always been a big fan of you and I like where you are going with this.
Your feel and touch for the balance point on a wheelie is fucking incredible! No matter what bike you're on🤔! BIG Josh Herrin fan, I live less than an hour from The Ridge, saw you sat & sun last year, won't miss it this year! So jacked you got a ride this year😃. Good luck Josh!
Thank you so much! One day I will figure out how to get it further back and use the rest break! I love faster wheelies though! Thank you so much for the support!
@@joshherrin That looks pretty far back to me and if you're that far back without even touching the rear break...impressive. Can't wait for the season!
I am a great French fan! Love these vids with Nick! Canyon roads, big skids, wheelings, vlogging! Perfect for me! Only missing the departure from your house saying wife and kid:"I'll be right back!" 😂😂👍👍🔥🔥🔥
Great video Josh. As an older guy and fan of yours for years, I am glad you are slowing down on the high speed wheelie’s in traffic. I enjoy your content as well as ripping up (to my ability) a canyon road. Excited to see what you have coming
Thank you for the years of support! I appreciate it. Thanks for watching!
Been a dunlop guy since day one in my riding, will always be a dunlop guy. One day we would love to have to have you and Nick to come to the dragon and do some riding! we love what yu do and the energy you bring bubba!
This takes me back 24 years to Shane ‘shakey’ Byrne and fast bikes magazine in the south of France. This is what got me mad crazy into bikes and I’m sure you’ll inspire a whole bunch of riders and riders-to-be…..
Awesome video man. Its always nice to see when its actual pros doing these type of videos versus some of the other stuff out there. Good luck on this years Moto America season and I wish you the best. By any chance do you play Ride4?
Good stuff, Josh! Moto America fan here. I'm excited to see where you go with the channel.
Josh, have fun brother. The street stuff will add way more subscribers and bring you bank. Stay in your lane and let Maxwrist do the running wide and endangering others. You show how you can ride fast but still be safe. 👍 We support you.
Incredible wheelie, would love to see a video tutorial 👌🔥
So cool to see this content taking place on roads I ride!!! Awesome 💪💪💪✊✊✊
Those drifts around the corners…love em!! Would love to learn how to but need content from you…lmfao! 👊🏼. Maybe a wheelie tutorial too lol 🤦♂️😝
Josh, you are one with that bike!! Absolutely fantastic video
These are the best videos man! 👏🔥 beautiful! 🚀
👀... Man you back it in everywhereee. Mad props.
"Cuz I suck and I'm scared in the canyons!" Hahahahahaha..... then he just gets out there whippin it making me feel like I need training wheels
Washington state in late July and August is pure enjoyment Josh - you have both the beauty of the west side (Puget Sound) and then heading east over the Mountains to the desert /plains beauty of Eastern Washington, unreal mountain hwy runs and views for sure !!!!
Love your stuff two wheel brother - keep it coming !!!
Smoked my ass, there's only one rider smoking out there. Great stuff mate love ya work.
I smiled a lot… happy for you… you can hear that this makes you happy… and you are being yourself
Good to hear! Thank you for the support! We appreciate it!
I just subscribed to your Channel, I don't know why I didn't see it before I have been following you for about 5 years now oh, you are definitely one of my heroes.
Azusa looks fun! Would be great to see you shredding out on Palomar. It's where all the cool kids hang out. ;-) One suggestion or request really... I'd love a video of you running through the mountains where you talk about what you're doing. How you pick your lines. Your braking going in and throttle coming out. There's lots of videos teaching theory and other videos of guys riding fast, but not much with a pro rider like yourself breaking down what they do. Anyhow, liking the new channel. Hope to see you out on the road some day.
Uphill in a canyon is always much nicer than going down, agreed. Awesome to see you at one of my local rides!
Awesome unicycling on that Panigale V2!
Hell yeah, Josh!
Keep the videos rolling!
Great wheelies bro~!
Holy shit. This is what a top tier good Moto vlog looks like. You gunna take YT by storm. 💪
I think this year will tell the truth with our weekly uploads. As long as we can stick to that, it should do a lot better. Thank you so much for the support!
I have a feeling we are watching the MotoAmerica Supersport Champ for 2022. Glad to hear you talk about riding down hill, I don't like it and thought I must be the only one. haha Hit some West Virginia twisties, the state is loaded with them.
Love it bro I look up to the videos
Awesome video! Come up to the Oregon coast Josh! Some really good roads up here to ride!
And by best tire on the market, I mean for “street use”. I have used mine on a track day they did amazing as well.
Cool video I've always been a street rider love finding new roads to ride
Great video!
Looking forward to this season of moto America and MotoGP! Bring it on with no regrets! #dunlop #kneedrag
Hey Josh, I also ride the 2021 V2. I got mine the weekend after Roadamerica. I must agree with you on riding down hill, it does feel wierd! I definitely prefer riding up!!
Great video and we'll see you in June!!👍🏻
I am very excited to all videos you make.
I just got back from Thailand and I spent some time in Phuket. Man, you have GOT to go there and ride around the mountains there. There are some stunning roads all around the country that are fantastic.
Love your videos man ❤️
Sick pov footage really sold me
Awesome! Good to hear! Thanks for watching!
Just discovered your channel and man! Thats a road I ride often with good friends. Looking into getting a set of Q4's for my first track day March 18th! We have a lot of local SoCal canyons we can show you! Keep on Shredding 🤙🏼
Can u tell me what road this is EXACTLY? I'm coming from Huntington Beach to ride it
Use what information is given to you and do some research"
Google maps buddy
Great footage. Damn I gotta learn to slide the rear like that! 👏🏼
I ride q4 and they are impressive tires, and yes it feels easier to ride fast uphill. Great vlogs bros
My only advice is don't try too hard and be urself !!
Long time subscriber, will love to see this channel explode !
Love n Peace
Nice more of this is great idea keep it up!
Wow you can ride! Very impressive
I love my Q4. Personal favorite for the street in NE is the Q3 and have converted plenty of friends 😤 coke to the kancamagus in New Hampshire! There’s a pre road that’s amazing and all the way up you got a couple miles of twisty love
Hey Josh did you move your clip-ons to be a lil straighter? They look sick and super comfortable.. are there any clearance issues?
You rock bro!!!!! Keep up the awsome work!!! See you at vir!!!
Great footage! Btw there’s plenty of amazing roads in good ol TN ... center hill dam road , the dragon , devils elbow, Simmons bluff Rd . Plus we can do tandem wheel stands and backing it in 😎
very exciting to see how long the V2 mirrors last before they vibrate off!
love it!!
😂 Fun Thanks for the video Josh
From the looks of it, you changed internals of the front suspension, better steering damper and lowered the front end?
GO JOSH!!!
Upper Big Tujunga Canyon Road is sick AS FUCK. I also love the 33 from Ojai, its 15 minutes away from my home. That's so cool how you fell in love a new form of riding, stay safe brother.
I'd love to see you shred "The Tail of the Dragon" in TN, "The Back of the Dragon" in VA, and "The Snake" in TN. I also loved watching the mini-moto, kart track content you used to post as well.
do you have a different triple tree on this v2?
Duuude, never scrapped it uphill at Palomar, but dusted myself downhill twice. Still love the downhill.
Hello Josh my name is Tim soper. We have a small crew just outside Yosemite. We have a amazing road 14 miles and 159 turns. You definitely should come out and ride definitely worth your time
Come to Colorado!! Ill show you around some sweet roads!!!
Any reason for using the clutch when the V2 has QS and blipper, or just habit?
Hell yeah Dunlop! Like watching max wrist at double speed and less wadding up s1000’s
Awesome videos like always josh...been a fan of your since your Scronnie skinny graves Yamaha R6 days........I live up noth in Modesto CA........we have a few up here...or the bay area..like hwy 9 up to skyline.
Josh! Please come ride with me on the Gap. Will is a buddy of mine up there. Please come play this season with us at, Deals Gap! And yes, Q4’s are my favorite tire on the gap. Come on bruh
Can’t wait to see you kick ass at Daytona!
Love to see you ride with MaxWrist. Fantastic to mix it up on this one.
Why would he ride with that waste of space? Lmao.
Cool footage ! Easier to push into corners faster when going uphill for sure,
I am definitely going to be promoting your channel and promoting people watching motoamerica and watching you race in it.
Yup riding up hill is easier for me too. It helps you slow down and makes you feel more traction.
I love your mentality and of course your skills
Looks good on the Ducati👍
Love seeing you enjoy the street rides. Come on up to wine country and try out Skaggs Springs Rd, never disappoints. Couple nice vistas for drone footage, barely any traffic, only downside is not a lot of pullouts.
👍 if you get past this point 34.24743135357332, -117.86624228325348 there is almost no cars (maybe on every hour or two hours on weekdays) where you guys were there is the east fork bridge (don't turn there keep straight) there is a gun range up there so you get cars and patrol. Go farther up past those coordinates, there are nice straights long sweepers and goes in to tight twisties then loosens up again before the end. Most guys hang out at the "water tour"... weekdays are super quite, weekends AM quite then about 11:30 it pops off with lots of bikes.. The canyon road is good because it dead ends just past Crystal Lake (14 miles in) so no transit traffic making it a unique road. Heads up very little cell service so make sure to take your precautions.
Who thinks it would be sick for Josh to do a meet up in the canyons!!!!! It would be mad, so many people would come out Josh, the content would be epic for your channel
Come to hwy 9. Off of 35 here in norcal.. right down from the famous Alice's in woodside CA
Loving the content! Love the canyon carving, sucks here in the U.K. we don’t have roads like that! Also, what mic are you using josh? Sounds great 👌
Hey I haven't been notified of any of your videos for a while now.
@@franklinwilkerson2061 hi bud, have you checked your notifications, as others have said that CZcams has been turning off notifications for no reason 🤔
Sick content dude! You should come ride Mount Lemmon in Tucson AZ. It's 20 something miles of awesome mountain roads.
If your ever in New Mexico sunspot hwy from cloudcroft to tiberon is a awesome ride
Hey Josh! Love your stuff! Not to mention Nick's vid skills! Can you please explain / break down what your doing at the approx. 2min section where your getting the bike turned and back wheel skidding / leaving the darkey
I need new tires,i have a Pentigale V-4 and my favorite road ride is in the Columbia River George, highway 14 in Washington state, so beautiful, the views on this ride are breathtaking, hope to hear from you soon.
Great video
Come to Mt. Palomar. We’d love to have you up on the fast side with us dude.
Enjoyed it! We love it also on the street! It's what we do. Cheaha Mountain State Park in Alabama east of Birmingham. Highest point in state. Super fun!
I know how Lanky feels, I was getting some footage at the Compound of Ashton, Brandon, Rodio and Lochoff doing wheelies outside... got some good photos that day.
How do you back it in like that?
Uphill mountain/canyon carving always feels more stable, planted and comfortable and I'd say overall better confidence.....downhill is more brakes and uphill is more throttle which is way more fun IMO.
Mid Missouri area is nothing but 2 lane twisty roads for days. Think Ozark Scenic riverways! Lots of great riding and cool places to go. And the best Springwater fed rivers for floating and having fun!
Saw one of those v2’s in person today. It’s such a small bike!
Great vids Josh keep them going. Come to Palomar Mt. The Mafia would love to see you there. Plus I would like to try some Q4 sticky buns.
Definitely like going up rather than down, I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains so I get a lot of both. Hope I see you at ViR in May, gonna be dope.
Definitely a beautiful bike
come to manawatu Scenic Rd, Mangaweka New Zealand, see ya there to shred some dunlops!
