Just to start off this is my first video im watching of yours and man oh man I love your energy! Thank you for the tips, have my first track day coming up soon and just trying to work on foot, hand, & head position as much as possible before heading in! 🚀 STAY HYPE MY MAN
I recorded my ride with the same camera angle as yours and found out i'm not doing such a bad job as i thought. I see that i need to work on sicane corners. The way you move your feet so quickly is something i need to practise to achieve. Thanks again for the video Josh!
When I finally learned to use my heel and bottom of the outer foot to hook the peg cornering became so much more enjoyable! Best tip out there for sure
Same here, at the beginning i was putting the outside foot in the same position as the inside one, learnt to position my feet properly and felt way safer and enjoyed way more cornering(maybe the track itself(motorland aragon) had some influence on that too hahaha)
Josh you came to the dealership I was managing back in 2008 Yamaha 99. It’s been cool watching you progress as a racer since then. I was impressed how nice and down to earth you where back then. Keep puttin in that work on track!
Great video josh! I’ve been following you for a long time. Your a sick rider & a super cool dude! Keep it up man love the videos. You’re making all us average riders a little better. Thanks again! 👍
Went to motoamerica at sonoma raceway and was rooting for ya josh awesome riding by the way, good to see the tips i ride on the balls of the feet like you say just may have been hangin the toes out a little too far...gotta get my tuono to the track and let er rip. Be safe bro keep the rubber side down and good luck
Josh has one of the most natural racing styles in the sport. he’s a great rider and a very cool guy with a great deal of experience and he can explain how to use your body to get the best from the bike
I loved the video. The mucking around was fun but the foot tips were excellent. I now know what I am doing is right and what my mate is telling me is wrong.
I like how you got Ben to roll around on cam for you. You seem fun. I'm going to totally awkwardly say hi to you when you're at Jersey. I was there Saturday of last year, dude you were absolutely nuts in the wet. A+++ would spectate again.
A racing line video would be great if you haven’t already done that! Maybe an actual track layout with your preferred line choice. Thanks for the content!
Two years late but this video was fucking great. Been riding for about 6 years but just recently have gotten into motosport and racing, actaully just saw you at VIR a couple weeks ago. Anyway, this taught me a lot and really can't wait to take this new knowledge out on the track/road. Seems so simple but its like a "duh" moment when you see where you're making mistakes. Thanks Josh and keep on keepin on! 👍🏻🤙🏼
Good info! IMHO a bunch of hard core track day tips will get you a bunch of new subscribers then you can start doing more fun(for you) vids.. good luck with the channel---I love it. PS i still want to see you race some motoamerica guys on the mini bikes.
Another awesome vid. Your outside foot seems to pivot-out more on the left than right side. Wonder why... Can you do a video on how you map out your breaking points on the track? Do you pick spots on the track to tell you where to brake? Do you prefer to brake late?
i have a question..and maybe next video..i work at cyclegear (hasbrouck hights whoop whoop) and i hear alot of people crashing is when there breaking!.. (mostly new riders) i try to give them my tips " go to parking lot prctice ..initial the brake and then starts slowly pressing harder and harder till you find your limit or the bikes limit so your are fimilare with how to break in a emergency situation"or if your at a track.. i hear alot of my customers go down beacuse they are useing the rear brake ( tail slides out and they high side) or just slamming on the front brake ( low side) my question is am i coaching them correctly and if you make a video i can refer them to your video to better educate them and everyone else on 2 wheel!.. thank josh keep up the good work and congratulations! on your win at cota cant wait to see you race this weekend good luck bud!
You mean I got to take off the Go-Pro mount off the top of my tank! I already put back on my left rear passenger peg for more turn in weight! And I had all the people standing around me all pissed off because I was constantly revving the engine! Dude I was LMAO when you said all these things... because I new some racers were heeding that advice!
tthis foot positioning tip is very key , forces all your body down on the bike giveing yourself more traction especially during cornering, to be honest it felt like the bike was alot more controled and planted to the ground during corners, gives you the confidence to push just a little more in corners
@@joshherrin hi there yes and no, i first came across this tip in a different video, but this video was able to give me a little more details, thanks for the tips man
Does it matter if you’re all up on the tank? For straightaways it could be better to help keep the front down but what about turns? Do you shift weight forward backward at all or is it mostly determined as a result of your wrist/foot position? I guess just in general talking about body position in terms of forward and back would be cool to hear.
killer video...I have that same bike, but I might as well ride a Honda CB 250. My track days looks nothing like yours haha. Love the tips and the fucking around bits equally much
Oh and congrats on that last win my friend, the wife and I was watching with crossed fingers after Tony had that downshift problem and you blasted by ..... you could easily see what that win meant to you through the tv screen
Josh Herrin I’ll be tuned in for sure, been a fan for a while! I saw you win in person at Barber on a 600 a loooong time ago.. what probably 2007 or 2008??? I want a stand up Rossi style wheelie if you win at VIR , much love from SE Tennessee
How about foot weight distribution? Do you put more weight on inside or outside pegs? Or equal? Does weight distribution change on corner entry, mid, and exit?
Personally I find that I have most of my weight on the inside peg, you can also see in the video that in a tighter corner he lifts his outside foot completely off of the peg. I would assume the weight distribution gradually increases on corner entry and then equalizes on exit
Yo Josh thanks for the foot tips I’ll definitely be practising that when I’m out and about. But here’s a tip for you.....when unloading your motorcycle off a truck or trailer CONCENTRATE!! 😂😂Adam 🏴
Bro your unreal and down to earth man I’m from the U.K. you should visit one time and tear up the Streets. ✌🏻 good luck this year you got it #lightwerrrkkkk
Question: You said your outer leg is relax but hooked to the tank, so is it just your leg thats hooked on the tank the only thing thats holding you on the corner or do you put some weight on the inner foot as well to help hold you on the corner? Please shine some light on me! lol More power!!!!
How do we set up rider training with you if we are at the same track or want to be at a same track day as you. Been wanting more coaching especially being a Kevin Schwartz Suzuki school graduate from many years ago. He does not do the school any more .....
Josh Herrin foresure deff agree actually road a buddys bike today with standard and kept putting it in 2nd when pulling away outta habit so used to gp.. but once going all good funny how we can go back and forth like no big deal just that random misshift every now and again lol
Josh,
I want to see braking technique. Front vs rear braking, pressure on the lever during braking, and trail braking videos.
+1. Very interested to see how you set up, trail off, and release.
+1 vote for this video as well
Would like to see this as well 👌🏼
On track; 99.9% front. rear brake is used to control wheelies out of corners etc, just a touch is enough.
i don't think he uses rear brakes at all
Just to start off this is my first video im watching of yours and man oh man I love your energy! Thank you for the tips, have my first track day coming up soon and just trying to work on foot, hand, & head position as much as possible before heading in! 🚀 STAY HYPE MY MAN

When I finally learned to use my heel and bottom of the outer foot to hook the peg cornering became so much more enjoyable! Best tip out there for sure

WOw, did not expect the wear was that significant. Very impressive!
Some people said to shorten the video and just talk about the foot positioning. I for one enjoyed the humor, especially the foot away joke. LOL!
Love the videos. I still can't wait to try out the tip about the mirrors.
Awesome Vlogs Josh!! You're an entertaining guy to watch. Can you go over line selection in corners and hitting the apex??
Hey Josh your video's are awesome man. And not too serious either ..hahah great humor. I subscribed😁👍

Most of that was not new, but some was a good reference for me for the future. Thanks for the pro style perspective.
Awesome videos Josh!
Great tips. This also makes me right on the balls of my feet even on the street which makes me feel like I have better control of the bike.
I feel like if you are riding on the balls of your feet you are more prepared when shit goes down on the street. Thanks for watching. 👍🏻
Yes! Track Day tips!

Love the new bell helmet paint schemes. So sick

Could you give a walkthrough of doing figure eights knee puck to knee puck? I struggle with lefts and I cant left turn circles down. Thanks Josh!
Nice josh 👌🏾 thanks for everything first off brother , second. Give us some breaking type when coming into a corner
From The tribe of Judah I’ll probably be covering this in my next video. Thanks for watching.
Great video really useful!
Need more of these tips!!! Trail braking please
tthis foot positioning tip is very key , forces all your body down on the bike giveing yourself more traction especially during cornering, to be honest it felt like the bike was alot more controled and planted to the ground during corners, gives you the confidence to push just a little more in corners
matt wang so awesome! Were you able to apply these techniques to your riding after watching this video? Thanks for watching! ✊🏼

Body position braking exiting acceleration. Thanks 🙏
Great info as always! Thanks Josh.
#RideOnKentuckyKid
Tim Alcorn 👍🏼
More of this video was excellent
Awesome tips! Tq 😊
Awesome vid Josh. At 4:53, are you doing a small foot dangle thing before tipping in? Thanks for the tips by the way!
That’s awesome. I live like 15 minutes away from that track
Keep the good work 🙌👏
Dude I love your videos. Please do one on braking - like backing it into a corner kinda braking ;)
Backing it on is done on the downshift. Just hammer down the gears, breaking traction to the rear. Super motos may vary.
I learn this awesome tip to try then look outside and it starts to snow for the first time this year lol. For next year it is ha.
How do you get that sound from the go pro? What external mic are you using and where is it? Sounds great 👍
Josh, are you still doing 1:1 coaching. I’d be interested during the MotoAmerica off season, CVMA winter series.
Just stumbled on your videos. Have you or will you do a vid on rearset and shift lever position for track riding?
Hi!
General body position, in corners, why like this etc.
Need more off these video's!
More track tips/instructional please!!!
I’d like to know about body prep and hydration to beat the cramps. Might be a boring video but could work it into another one.
Oh and congrats on that last win my friend, the wife and I was watching with crossed fingers after Tony had that downshift problem and you blasted by ..... you could easily see what that win meant to you through the tv screen
Stephen Crumley thanks for the support. That was a huge one for me. Make sure you watch VIR this weekend. 👍🏼
Josh Herrin I’ll be tuned in for sure, been a fan for a while! I saw you win in person at Barber on a 600 a loooong time ago..
what probably 2007 or 2008???
I want a stand up Rossi style wheelie if you win at VIR , much love from SE Tennessee
You prefer BW Clockwise or Counter Clockwise? Been like 10years since I rode that track, back before I moved East. See you at VIR this weekend!!
Thanks for the tip Josh, when do you change the soil of the boots? Those ones seem quite done :)
Another female subscriber...great tips and entertaining banter, what more do I need!
Good stuff. Team Suzuki.
You could be Eli Tomac’s little brother lol . Love the video wish i could ride with all of you one day
Good video and tips not related to the video but where can i get that Suzuki hat from ?
Josh,
Nice ride. can you share the web links of where we can get your motorcycle gear ?
Thanks Josh!
Female subscriber here lol! Have a BMW s1000rr I am wanting to take to the track. You are so inspiring!!!!😊
Danielle M awesome! It’s nice to have a few girls on here. Thanks for subscribing. Have fun on your new bike. Hope to see you at the hyacinth! 👍🏼
sir do you use rear breaking while cornering and revving your engine while decreasing gear
Yo Josh thanks for the foot tips I’ll definitely be practising that when I’m out and about. But here’s a tip for you.....when unloading your motorcycle off a truck or trailer CONCENTRATE!! 😂😂Adam 🏴
I find my self trailing the rear brake into the corner and therefore cannot place my ball of my foot on the peg. Is it incorrect to trail brake?
Never been a fan of the gixxer but this new one is unreal 💧🤑
Ste Bradley I was very impressed the first day I rode this bike. I love it.
Bro your unreal and down to earth man I’m from the U.K. you should visit one time and tear up the Streets. ✌🏻 good luck this year you got it #lightwerrrkkkk
great and entertaining video Josh, see you at VIR this weekend, you need me to bring you some cold Coors lite?
I want my gsxr to clutch less start!🤯 They say it get stuck in neutral map is this true?
what are the advantages of those early upshifts on corner exits?
Josh how come you dont ride with GP shifting?? Great tips and BTW the Bike sounds A M A Z I N G 👌👌👌
Samurai H
He does😂
13000th subscriber here..! Yeah
FORTY3 awesome! Thank you!

How do we set up rider training with you if we are at the same track or want to be at a same track day as you.
Been wanting more coaching especially being a Kevin Schwartz Suzuki school graduate from many years ago. He does not do the school any more .....
great tips!!!!! thanks....
Hey josh, where can we buy the camera mounting for the gas tank?
How to put elbow n knee in best position for corners? Modern riding style not kenny roberts era
1st thing I noticed no gp shift.. i know to each there own but surprised I guess
Kgsxr7S0 it’s just rider preference. I just haven’t switched this bike over but I think there is an advantage to both ways.
Josh Herrin foresure deff agree actually road a buddys bike today with standard and kept putting it in 2nd when pulling away outta habit so used to gp.. but once going all good funny how we can go back and forth like no big deal just that random misshift every now and again lol
What’s up Josh.......I’m a fellow Moto-vlogger and was wondering what the best mount position for a Camera on your helmet? Also nice win at COTA!
King I’ll post a photo on my Instagram story tonight of the mount we put together for my helmet. 👍🏼
the whole cow pasture thing, I’m like “hmm must be going to Buttonwillow” hahaha
Hey at 6:07 you fully removed your right foot of the peg was it a situation where that was necessary
Where can we buy one of those blue hats you are wearing?
