    I don’t buy & sell, I find & sell. In my apartment complex people are always leaving stuff at the dumpster, I just bring it home & flip it! It’s not a lot of money at all but I get a little dough while connecting things that almost went into the land fill with the people who need them.

    I had a similar start up. I had £30 & brought 10 plain white t-shirts. I got out my paints & did some stencil designs. They all sold for £10 each. 300% profit on everything I repeated the process for years. It quickly got to 500 t-shirt sales per week & evolved to other clothing. The best days of my life. 😊

    Thanks for sharing. I also flip as a side hustle. I started with extra stuff I had around the house. Then I started buying stuff at thrift stores and selling for a profit. I have made thousands over the last 4 years by just listing 5-10 things a week. What worked well: furnitures, xmas tree stands, curtains and rods, small electronics, small appliances, wood outdoor furniture (I just do a quick sand and stain), outdoor tools, snow boots, large baby items like minikitchen or slide, lego/tous/kids bikes, snow pants, kids floating jackets, boardgames.

    Love this video. A couple of months ago I picked up a free wooden dining table. Fixed the table legs, gave it a nice white colour and someone picked it up for €60,- 🤩 I enjoyed the process too and it felt so good to fix something that wasn't that functional or beautiful anymore + give it a new life with someone 🙌🏼

    I started selling on eBay because I would find really cool items secondhand. I spent a lot of time researching things. Like, a lot a lot. I learned that this advice is very true, start with what you know. For some things, knowing about an item takes a lifetime of knowledge. Like coin collecting. Or stamps. Dolls. Etc. I sell mostly jewelry now. Because it's always been one of my favorite things and it's SMALL.

    Thanks Nicole, As a fellow cheapskate, I have to admire your resourcefulness. Been doing this for years as a side hustle. I rarely ever use my bank card, Just pay cash for everything. Once I found a really dirty beat-up bike in the garbage container in town and I removed the front and rear wheels, thinking I might be able to save the rims, but after a closer inspection, I saw the tires were good too, So I just cleaned it, treated it with armor-all so it looked almost new, than sold it in one day for $160- Cdn, Someone from another city drove here to pick it up and paid full price for it, I am really good at selling and marketing , also good at photography and image editing in Photoshop, so I edit every single picture I post on marketplace. Most of the time I have a few hundred $$$ in my pocket, but I still make my coffee and don't spend senselessly. It's all about discipline, that most ppl don't have.

Now that I’m back in England in my home city (in South West England), everybody wants things for free. Anything I’ve sold on eBay in the UK has been sold to people all over the UK, except from any city in South West England. They’re all tight fisted.

    Kinda cool in the short term, but sooner or later it hurts everyone. Getting deals at second hand stores have definitely been affected. Poor people end up without. And as far as flippers go, when everyone's doing it, it loses it's shine.
    Really though, it's all just a sign of a declining global economy. The milk of human kindness evaporates one inflation point at a time...til we're back to bartering our gold teeth for bread, like the good old days.

    Forgive me but this is like buying tickets for a concert and reselling them for a higher price. NO difference. I sold many items especially baby items after having my son. I always tried to put fair price or even below for somebody who cannot afford nice things for their baby. I used things lightly for the same reason = so somebody after me can use it too for a cheaper price. And you here are telling me that I helped people who make business out of it while I thought I make a good deed? I admire your business spirit but I am disappointed in you for this is overall like selling tickets for a higher price or like being a real estate agent extorting money for nothing..just because you can.

    • @manifestingsanctuary
      @manifestingsanctuary Před 23 minutami

      Flipping may be what they need to do to get by...they may have children pets family etc they need to support or just needing it for themselves. All businesses involving sales does a variation of this charging more than the base intial price of the item; this is why so many people can earn a living on this planet. Would you rather only the people who manufacture the item be able to make a living? The amount of unemployed people would be out of control. If you want to do a good deed look for someone who needs help, confirm they need help then help them no strings attached. If they're paying you its not really a good deed; I sell items cheap too; I never considered it a good deed...
