The pocket clips are removable. Some people have put the l2 clip on the l1 to make it deep carry.

👍Nice review Mike. Surefire have always made some good tactical lights, but a bit on the pricey side when compared to others.
I have one of their original 6R lights from 1990😊. Xenon incandescent 6v lamp assembly unit with a massive 65 lumens😅(not sure of candela rating, but it's a really good beam even by today's standards). 2 cr123 batteries or with extension tube and a special 6v rechargeable nicad cell (totally dead now) and proprietary charger this battery.
For the time it was revolutionary and outperformed a 6 D cell Maglite.
Still easily takes on most 400-500lm modern flashlights 😊.

Wow, cool. I love hearing about original lights from companies.
Yes, they are certainly on the pricey side.

Do they always come out with lights that run on non - rechargeable? For sure you'll pick the weltools over those?

Both of these lights can take 16340, but (and that's quite a significant detail) it's got to be a LiFePo4 16340 3.2V (aka LFP123) In the case of EDCL1 you're going to need one LFP123, and in the case of EDCL2, two of them, respectively. Also, in the EDCL2 you can use a single Li-Ion 16650 3.7V cell, or you can put a 6V head (from the EDCL2) on a single cell body of the EDCL1, and in this case, you can use a single Li-Ion 16340 3.7V instead of LFP123. I hope this helps.

@@AntonChiseliovdoes the edcl1t share a same body with other Surefire E1 series? Can I just put the 6V head on for example, a E1B body and then use a 3.7V battery ?

Do they work with 18650 and 16340 ?

For the EDCL2T a 16340 would work although they noted a slight step down in lumens but i cant tell the difference myself
