@BobandBrad Any advice or modifications for someone with Baker Cysts in back of the knees from Rheumatoid Arthritis? Tia
🤠Howdy from Texas. How can I strengthen my foot and back? I injured both and maybe even the tendons, I am walking again. I want to prevent injury since I don't know if it can handle another one.
@@shelly936yes!! I would like know this too!
Thanks
Thanks for the video.
I have chronic fatigue syndrome, and it slows my ability to make any kind of fitness progress. Nothing will make me stronger in two weeks. I would urge people not to think about the two week part of this. I can do squats now, so I do them. I was very slow seeing any progress. I completely ignored the idea of looking at the calendar. I found what I could do and did it without putting any other pressure on myself. For over a year or two, I could do fifteen or twenty. Only after a year or so am I going over twenty squats on good days.
That's actually really good, kep up the great work!
Bob, brad, Mike you're always very thorough on how you explain and show. You rock.
Thank you
Wheees bob?
I completed 5 months of physical therapy after vertebrae fractures [osteoporosis] and I have found that following Bob, Brad and Mike I am continuing PT at home. Thank you for your complete explanations of these exercises, showing correct form and also explaining what these exercises benefit - and when you should not do them due to specific condition and concerns. Thank you so much!
Thanks for watching, all the best in your recovery!
1 @ 2:47 quad strengthen (ball under knee), 2 @ 4:38 sit to stand, 3 @ 6:28 split squat, 4 @ 8:32 step-ups.
Thanku so much for the wonderful message

Thank you for this very helpful video! ♥️
Thanks so much for this video! I've been pushing myself way too hard for too long exercising from 5 to 6 days a week not realizing that I was putting a strain on my body and not giving myself time to relax in between! You guys are the best and Thanks For Sharing!🌟👍💯😊
really useful guide for elders to continue strengthen leg muscles together with proper diet.
thank you for the simplicity.
Great help... thank you.
Great to hear it was helpful!
Thanks for great video.
Thank you
You are very welcome!
Thank you.
You are very welcome!
Thanks guys, I don't have the buckling problems yet but don't want them so I'm going to do all of these every other day.
I do have a knee that will buckle at times. This is great information. I am 70 yrs. young and I need these kinds of exercises. TY
Thanks!
You are very welcome!
Thank you so much for these leg strengthening exercises, Bob, Brad and Mike
You are very welcome, we are happy we can help!
In sewing class during a free fashion show where we got to model our creations to other classmates in that junior high school the teacher pointed out how I may have benefitted by keeping the hemline lower for myself when having heavier legs. Now that I am over age 65 I am feeling thankful to have inherited heavier legs from my dad's side of the family.
Thank you for watching!
I walk 10,000 steps at a brisk 3.5 - 5 mph and I have implemented the calf muscle exercises that you fellas have recommended on another vid, I also climb 15 flights of stairs daily, but I definatley need to strengthen my quads. I do have lumbar issues at L4-L5 , so the seated squats are not for me, but I will definitely try the others. Thanks fellas!!!
That's great to hear! Keep up the great work!
Thank you for the video! I’ll let you know how it goes moving forward!!
That would be great!
Awesome and very helpful , as usual :)
Thank you, will help after my knee replacement!
Happy we could help!
Thanks Bob, Brad and Mike for sharing this video. I've just finished PT and I was doing some of these exercises, but not the one with the ball. I'm going to continue these exercises at home and I will also add the ball exercise.
Excellent!
Thank you for this info, its very helpful I will try this today as my legs are weak.
I have a right hip-replacement left knee replacement & have to try to keep these muscles strengthened. X
Love it🎉
glad to hear it!
I wish you had the type of video that leads us through a routine so that we could follow along with each time we do exercises. I have the bands so a video for those would be really nice.
Thank you I broke my hip and was feeling weak now I know I was doing it daily ❤
Happy we could help!
Super helpful!
Great to hear it!
Very timely for me, fellas, thank you! Now, I just need to find Mike's shoes to take this outside as the weather improves!
Thx boys:)
Love your videos, I'm 66 and don't have enough strength in my left leg (since ACL repair surgery a few years ago) to still be able to get up on my horse. Do you have a video that would show me exercises for strengthening my leg so that when I get my foot in the stirrup (about 34" from the ground) I would be able to push myself up with my leg into the saddle. I've ridden since I was 10, but have gotten out of condition. Thanks.
Thanks I’m 68
My husband
85 yo
2 mini strokes
NO balance
Will not do the PT advised exercises.
Out of guilt, I (his wife) take him to his weekly PT
They always say
Great work, you’re doing great
I tell them, aside, he doesn’t get up from his tv chair, not once a week
I’m elderly also, he has no balance, I carry him along his walker
Trying to keep him out of a rest home, He’s getting combative about not having to do any exercise at all
Thanks for listening
Regarding using the stairs…I’ve found standing sideways on the bottom step and lowering one foot to the floor (touch the heel not the whole foot) helps isolate the exercised leg and removes the tendency to “push” off with the lowered leg. Standing sideways still allows you to hold the banister for support.
Very nice explanation sir. Pl make video on pincers in acetabulum . How to remove it.
Thankful for all the great exercises with tips Oh, also mike is the cutest 😊. Hi from 🇨🇦
I will be trying these to see if I can strengthen my legs, especially the right.
Ii have such bad arthritis in my right knee, I’ve been going up and down steps one step at a time for at least a decade, leading with my left leg going up and my right going down. I always need a railing or cane. I don’t know if I could get up one step starting on the right.
When I walk, I don’t have much trouble walking uphill, but downhill kills my right knee. I found that if I turn sideways with my right side toward the downward slope and walk sideways, it is much less painful.
I use Nordic walking poles for walking. Besides taking pressure off my lower joints, apparently one can burn more calories than regular walking and it also exercises the arms. I can walk faster and farther than without the poles. Another benefit is they provide stability. Using poles, I’ve avoided falling several times. But even with poles I avoid walking in icy conditions.
Amazing shocase. Especially at the beginning when he mentioned that this might not work for everyone.
Rope Flow saved my life ..low impact..it refreshes muscular memory..very efficient..start slowly..because it really affects entire body .
🙏🙏🙏🙏 for Mike❤
Thank you!
Great video, very helpful. My best to Roberto, too.
Glad we could help!
3:21 The "Zero-Drop" Shoes being worn in this shot Are Fantastic 'Healers'!
After decades of aches/pains/etc from absolutely abusing my body skating, riding bikes, motorcycles, etc. I finally took a chance on getting/trying a pair.. Within Minutes, I could already feel a difference..
[High arches don't help anything out] I added a pair of supports, and WOW! Bought 3 more pairs!
BMX/Skate shoes are usually my go-to's for the most part, but, when I'm out and about 'adventuring',
Zero Drops are what are on my feet! Relatively cheap and Extremely Effective!
**Peripheral Neuropathy wasn't completely killed, but, it sure met it's match! 👍
Thank you for sharing!!
Thank you guys, perfect timing for me. I've been noticing my legs need strengthening as I've not been walking the hills so much.
You're so welcome!
Bob and Brad is their brand and business!
Big boy is THE EDITOR.....XXXX LOVE AND MISS YOUR SMILLY FACE...XXX
Perfect timing for this video to pop up as recommended. I have fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue and went through a long period of time where I had no choice but to be sedentary. I am very much wanting to get some strength back and my legs and this video was just what I needed to see.
Thank you Brad and Mike!
For leg strength and full body strengthening, I like using a rowing machine. Rowing 20 minutes a day while keeping your heart rate in a comfortable range (ie 140 bpm) Rowing is safe, easy to learn, and has zero impact.
Thanks for sharing!

Thank you Mike, what ever your doing to lower the pitch of your voice is working nicely. God bless you guys, specially Bob.
I walk 2 days a week.......then 1 day of eliptical ... 1 of rope exercises and 1 day riding my bike.I always do Holly Dolke weight training 2 days also. Its been a week and the balance exercise that i could only do 7 seconds before i can now do 20 seconds on my right side......left still 8 seconds.Ive been doing the leg lunges with Holly for years.
Keep up the great work!
l love the information and exercises you share with us. One of the things l have found very helpful for me are WATER AEROBICS. l love working out in water because it is easy on the muscles and joints, and for someone who has had MS since 1994 and thankfully still ambulatory...water is my go to.
l love you guys😍
Great exercises...did these (and more) in PT to rehab a bad knee.
Great to hear they were helpful
Just recovering from TLHR and need to get my strength back. Will take it slow soon as surgeon OK s.
Best of luck in your recovery! Here is a link to our program that might help as well: www.bobandbrad.com/health-programs/total-hip-replacement-fitness-program
These are the exercises I used for knee replacement recovery. It’s brilliant that they work overall.
Great to hear, thank you for sharing! This helps people to hear from other people that it really can help!
I'm to heavy and can only exercise in the pool . Been on a scooter for years after getting hurt at work. I have your cordless massage and it's amazing. Any ideas for pool workouts?
At age 80 , I’ve switched from using the electrical mechanical escalator to do walking up the stairs.
Been doing squats and lunges
It should read behind them Bob Brad and Mike it’s only fair ❤❤🇦🇺🐨🐨🇦🇺
You all should put mikes name up there now along with bob and brad as the the other guy won’t be returning hope he gets better soon though ❤ only fair he is so good to at explaining and showing how to do it….
Thank you for sharing your video. Tips are valuable & helpful.
What kind of exercises do you suggest for somebody in a wheelchair? I have extreme nerve damage in my legs from a botched surgery that I had about 7 years ago. My legs were my best feature at one point but for the past 7+ years, I have been immobile due to the nerve damage. I currently have no feeling in my left leg from my foot up to about my knee and I have neuropathy extremely bad in both legs. I walk short distances like down the driveway and back, up the stairs when I have doctors appointments but mostly I'm immobile. I use a wheelchair to get around. How do I regain the muscle in my legs that I once had?
Here is a link with a few videos on it that will be helpful: www.youtube.com/@BobandBrad/search?query=wheelchair%20leg%20strengthen
Split squats are also referred to as genuflections
Thanks!
I can do that exercise without the ball. My knees have always hyperextended, and when I was in my 20's, playing competitive softball, I blew out a knee after rounding 1st base with my sights set on 3rd. Unfortunately I went from running to flat on the ground somewhere between 1st and 2nd. I've never known pain like that. The only ligament that didn't tear was my PCL. As I close in on 40 years since then, I've had a total of 8 surgeries on that knee, 3 of them reconstructions. In 2014, I'm hoping that was the last one which was a total replacement. I blame my injury on the hyperextension but I wish I had a video of how my injury occurred. The morning after the total replacement, my surgeon and 2 residents came into my room and he had 2 exercises he wanted me doing. The 2nd one I refused. He asked why, so I asked one of his residents to come around my bed and hold my heel where I had raised my leg 6-8" off the bed, and told him not to let my heel drop. Then I released my muscles and he saw how much natural hyperextension I had so he agreed that I didn't need to work on that one. Over time, my right knee will still hyperextend, but if I would have known then what I know now, I would have begged for a replacement rather than reconstruction because my knee has never felt as solid as it has since the replacement. It sucks when you realize you will no longer be an athlete.
Thanks -- I need to do these exercises!
Does your skeleton have a name? At 4:55 he looks like he's been put into time out, dejectedly facing the wall.
At 8:20 he's back in your good graces, watching what you're doing.
Love to Bob!
I'm 63, I do a lot of bodyweight exercises and squats is one of them. I do 25 reps a set for 8 to 12 sets of 25 reps each. But I've been doing this since I was a kid. Bodyweight exercises were called calisthenics which were done in school. Sadly, seems like today's kids don't have PE anymore.
My physical therapist has me doing some of the same exercises to strengthen my quaids. But before we even started working on the quaid muscles, we spent a week to ten days focusing on my core strength. Stomach and gluts. "Quaid strength starts with core strength." Your thoughts.
🙏
Are these safe for replaced knees combine with complete lumbar fusion
Do you have any exercises for strengthening for someone planning on a knee replacement? Thank you!
Here are a few videos you may find helpful czcams.com/play/PL8l32k1r15l73BNZ2pEel1wB8pWO4vDXT.html
Hello! I normally do 2000 to 4000 revs Forward and backwards on a CUBII elliptical. It’s set to the highest resistance. I do about twenty sit to stands, a lot of wide side stepping and turning in place as well as high step marching in place. I do all of these routines every day. I’m wondering if doing this workout every day is too much.
I’m 71. For the last four years I have had problems with my left leg. I believe it was due to increasing walking speed and distance too quickly. I have had twenty weeks of PT, evaluations by orthopedic practitioners. Nerve conduction studies were normal. Should I do these on my left leg only until it is stronger and then add in my right leg?
Can these exercises be done in conjunction with McKenzie for recent L3/L4/L5 Disk bulge diagnosis. Leg weakness coincided with diagnosis and sciatica. Thanks for your expertise.
Do you have any exercises for goin area ?
My knees are so noisy on the step up exercise, even with good form. I'm not even 50 yet! Would love to make sure my kness are safely strengthened so will keep up small sets of all these and build from there. Any other advice for noisy knees?
And thanks for a good set of exercises even for those of us that are younger.
Interesting, I’ll try it but is anything wrong with leg machines?
Title Should be Bob & Brad with Mike
I need you to include on these leg exercises how to deal with the cyst behind your knee. All it takes is one squat and it swells up. Could you please address that thank you.
Bob & Brad featuring Mike ❤
Humans hate change. Just ignore the negative comments. Most of us appreciate your information. Very helpful.
Can I do chair sit ups as shown in this video or chair squats if I have disc bulge or herniated disc ?
❗️How many times a day for how long ? I’m assuming like 10 reps 3 times a day MWF for a couple weeks and then 20 reps M-F taking weekends off ?
Woa, that thumbnail, bro! I'd get that knee checked asap
Right!!
I discovered your channel after breaking my ankle earlier this month then watching your videos about walkers.
What exercises can a person do when their ankle is NWO?
Here is a link to a few videos that should help: www.youtube.com/@BobandBrad/search?query=non%20weight%20bearing%20ankle
Can you do both legs at once?
What age are these exercises aimed at?
Older people with arthritis, like myself couldn't possibly do those!
What is the timeframe for noticed improvement for the deconditioned?
Everyone's situations are unique, but you should be able to see improvement within a few weeks, even if it's a slight improvement :)
