After being in an abusive relationship with Amazon KDP for the last two years, Kobo looks like the healthy relationship I need. Thanks, Julie. You have given me hope.

Sooooo that is good BUT the benefits come in when you upload directly TO Kobo vs using the aggregator. I'm wide with D2D and I can't access the Kobo promotions dashboard because I didn't upload to Kobo.

I am also looking for self publishng platforms based here in Canada. This is helpful.
They are no longer based in Canada but they originated there. Also iUniverse is one that a lot of authors have used to get into Chapters but I know a lot of folks that are really unhappy with them. You can get into Chapters through Ingram Spark.
Is kobo only ebooks or can you print physical books too?

I don't think so ... look at Findaway Voices or Authors Republic for that.

Great question. We have always gone through D2D but if you are planning to do a huge Kobo promotional push I would go direct to Kobo.
2d2 gets a cut so going directly you’ll get all the royalties. I saw that mentioned in another video.
Is it better to upload your book directly to kobo? Or through IngramSpark?
My first book I did it through kobo’s author site, but with my most recent I went through Ingram.
(Also, I’m having issues getting my book onto google’s ebook store. Can you make a video about them too?)
Thanks so much for your questions. To take advantage of their programs I talk about you do have to upload direct to Kobo.
Google is a place we haven't focused much. There were a lot of issues with them a few years ago (sounds like that might still be the case) so I am not sure I have much to offer there. I can check with my team to see what, if anything, we are currently doing with them.

No - it's not an exclusive thing.
Can you upload ebooks that are already published?
Yes as long as you have the rights to do so and you're not exclusive with Kindle. You wouldn't be able to take advantage of the pre-launch I don't think ... but maybe you can??
Can I do both Kobo and Amazon?
You betcha! As long as you're not exclusive with Kobo you can go ahead and use Kobo too.
kobo plus is available in how many countries? you said 200 countries. which are those countries?

Is it possible to do both Kindle AND Kobo, or are they mutually exclusive?
Each one has its own merit it must be difficult to choose.
You can do both so long as you're not exclusive with Kindle.

Same here. I even set it up to "koboplus"
It's very user friendly to set-up and upload. But that's it. The book is just sitting there.
i sold books on kobo. but i do not receive payment on account, even though i have mail and invoice payment. Can you help me?
They have a minimum threshold you need to earn before they pay out. Also, they do have their own help and support, and unlike Amazon they usually respond promptly. I would try reaching out from within your Kobo dashboard.
How Authors Earn Royalities When They Enrolled Ebooks In Kobo Plus Or Subscription ?
It's in their terms or if you upload through Draft2Digital you'll see the payment schedule. When someone downloads your book you get paid.
