Thank you bud means alot, we greatly appreciate the support!
TheJ2effect feel me... love their videos
Vernon Justice all the paints have a bit of a natural gloss to em. Duller removes that.
I’ve been trying to get in the customizations business for a while now. It’s always caught my eye. These tips really help out people like me who don’t know much. Thanks bro. Hope to see more videos.
No doubt 🤙🏽 thanks for checking us out
I didn't realize duller helps with the strength too! Will def be adding to all of my customs - especially to prevent paint from coming up when you remove stencils. Thanks guys!
Angelus 2 hard helps with the strength as well.
Yes , 2 hard is good for a plasticey/leather material . Anything hard . Then coating on some 4 coat thereafter helps to seal it nicely
thank you i was stuck what finisher to get if i used duller and you helped me so much!!
Great video guys! 🙌
This is great info for beginners like me. Thanks!!
Thank you for this, helped a lot.
Man! Your videos are so so informative to the person like me and to many others too!
I have one question; do you use “duller” in every single coat or just in the final coat of paint please? Thank you.
Thanks man for your amazing advice
So glad I watched this video before I got started lol
Thanks 😁👍
His hands have a mind of there own 🤣🤣🤣great video tho!
😆😆😆
😂 😂 😂 😂
Distracting for sure 😜
Gta hands
Thankkksss man I was really tryna figure out how to exactly use duller ✊👍
Glad we can help 🤘🏼
i wanted to restore my tns, bought all the gear to help out ect angelus paints and the sneaker laundry... when i seen all the kit i had purchased i knew it was gonna be harder then i thought haha i feel like im doing a course for free and its very valuable to me for sure :) thanks man
Thank you for your videos, they're a great help. Im about to begin my first custom on a pair of vans, I just recieved some stencils from you, thank you. Do I mix in 2soft and duller with my paint? If so, what ratio? 10% of each, or 5% of each to add up to make the 10%? And do I mix duller with the finisher? Do I add 2soft to the finisher as well?
Thanks man the advice was greatly appreciated 👍
🤙🏽
Wow this was so helpful. Thank you!
I have a question. if I have painted a shoe without a duller and after having finished using it the duller and finisher do I still get a good result?
Great videos love them 💪
I'm making the transition, I've made up my mind 😂 I'm using duller from now on 💪🏻
Thanks .. it works
Thank you for this!
Left hand circle once..right hand circle twice. Good video..just the hands bro! Like a politician!
Lol
Nobody has mentioned any of this . Awesome channel !!!
This channel goes! Thx for the more-than-necessary prerequisite. I can’t STAND when they come out sticky looking.
Do you ever use duller and 2-Hard together? Or is it one or the other depending on material? Im planning to try my first custom on some retro 1 (Phat carbon fiber) they have some patent leather... Appreciate all the great content!
I appreciate you very Much My Brother...I cant wait to purchase my 1st Airbrush machine...Have A Blessed One
Great explaination man. New sub!
I painted my first shoe and its so shiney, thank s for the tips....Can we just paint over some new layers with the duller if I already have the 3 layers of non duller on ther?
So you could mix angelus 2 thin and duller at the same time? That's awesome discovery! Thanks you!
Love this tip! A game changer
Absolutely!
Hey, thanks for the video. I read that you use the angelus matte finisher & the krylon matte spray as finishers. Is it fine to only use the krylon spray?
heyyy m8 ur channel is helpful, Can i use the duller with the jacquard paints? and is there a need to use the duller with the jacquard paints (or any flat angleus paints as well) if im going to use krylon matte finisher or the crystal clear finisher for my desired finish? or do you recommend using the angelus finishers over the krylon spray bottles? i assume it wont hurt or help too much either way but im still curious to see what a professionals preference on that is. thanks for the content!
Great video! Do you know by any chance if this will work just as good with copic markers (Alcohol based markers) on vans? They just commissioned me some custome Vans and want the best clear coating for them :)
I just add duller to all my paint bottles and not worry about it later on..same for my finishers pre mixed baby.
Got yourself a new subscriber 💯
but i dont need the duller for paints that are already matte/flat? (flat black etc.)
nice video very helpful!
Omega Saphir no not really, but I still actually add a couple drops 😂 kinda like the secret sauce for me
I have a question. I am going to be painting Air Force 1s with a PAINTBRUSH. Will I still need to use duller? I have seen Marko and I do not think he uses duller.
Angles matte finisher!
Awsome video thanks for all the help! Do you use the duller when you are painting w/o a airbrush?
Yes, however I actually just use liquid kicks matte finish as a top coat at the very end nowadays and don’t even need duller anymore
When painting canvas shoes likes vans, do you have to use duller ? Or is only really used on leather
Do you mix duller also with 4-coat matte?
Instead of duller can I add the matte finisher on the paint when the painting is done?
So do you use both duller and matt finisher?? Or just duller
Can you mix duller and 2 hard with paints on rubber surfaces?
Can you put angelus finisher on mesh or canvas to protect the angelus paint I put on those areas ? Or do you not put any sort of protection on canvas or mesh materials after you’ve painted on them with angelus paints ?
Thanks
So you add “too thin” to the airbrush mixture as well as duller?
Love ur videos😊
Hello! Is duller necessary for fabrics too?
Have u ever work on New Balance 574 with suede? TY
Would this work in sneaker's fabric too?
I have a question about the 600 finisher, i used it on a wallet in 2 very light coats, a day has passed and it feels a little bit tacky, do i just let it dry another day? Or is it gonna stay tacky? Help please!
Hello what kinda paint will I use for white kobe ad nxt 360
How many coats of finisher should I do?
Can I just add duller without mixing any other paint to the already finished product painted?
Thanks man! I need this tutorial I'm planning to customize some shoes too, I just needed to buy some materials to do this.🔥
Deller +matte finish for plastic material?
Are you familiar with angelus neutral suede dye? I wanted to know exactly what would be a good time to use it.
When you’re trying to dilute a colored dye and lighten it up
Do a video explaining of every product of angelus paint please thanks
If I paint Jordan’s I don’t like angelus 2 soft right ?
Good info ,, a few questions for ya ,, or all .
1 - When paintin' AJ1's ,, if using brush ,, is duller also used ? ( apposed to air brush method )
2 - Would duller be used on AJKO's canvas ,,, or being canvas , not needed ?
...... Thanks all .......
Some of the news finishers like the matte 4 coat have made duller unnecessary. Now , thankfully you can just get a clean matte finish at the very end of your project. Before that just wasn’t possibility
How do you measure the percentage
What’s good ? Great video
I still suck at using duller
Armanithecreator haha it’s a must bro! Took too long for me to make it an everyday staple
I def need to re up . But again thanks again on the great video . Answered some questions I was wondering lol
I buy an Matte Acrylic Finisher for a custom Nikes but it was still shiny. Can I put Dull on top of the matte for it to look opaque like the rest of the shoe?
You can actually just use the Angleus matte 4coat or the liquid licks matte topcoat.. and you’ll never need any duller
Any tips for airmax 90 midsoles paint from lifting and cracking?
No unfortuantely man, I’m always very weary of painting rubber. I just don’t think it has long term durability
let's say you're doing a Simpson themed shoe with some glazed doughnut effect, would you want to put duller on the "glazed" areas or would feel like keeping those parts glossy and dull the rest? asking for a friend 🙃🍩😄
i like the shiny look XD
Hi can you use duller for just painting and not airbrushing, will it have the same effect?
Yes !
If a lil thick can I thin it out with H2o
Do i need acrylic finisher?
Is it a must to add at the end of the shoe?
Yup!
Can I use duller on hobby lobby Apple barrel acrylic paint
I wouldn’t recommend that
I added fuller to all my paints but when I went to apply the finisher I forgot that I didn’t add the duller into that one I got a sheen look. How do I take off the sheen without ruining the underneath art
You can add duller into your finish now
You use duller in your mixtures with fabric medium for knits/fabrics too?
Absolutely, you definitely don’t want your fabrics to have any type of sheen
Great tutorial! Do I have to use air brush? Can I use this for the bottom of a high heel shoe?
You dont have to use an airbrush, bottoms will unfortunately wear off again pretty quickly if you do opt to paint them.
Thank you! I look forward to more of your tutorials.
Not mentioning preparization, do you add only duller to angelus paint and then at the end matt finish(+ smth to prevent stains)?
Love your videos, they help a lot
MegaLukaszenko yup add it to the paint and the finisher
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear Sorry if I wasnt clear enough but i meant are these all of the essential products to make good quality customs?
Yeah you’re in good shape if you’re using all these!
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear thanks man, keep up the good work, looking forward to new videos
I mixed the duller with my paint and once I was finished with that I got ready to apply the matte finisher with some duller in it and after it dried there were almost like chalky streaks. Do you know why this could’ve happened or how to fix it ? Did the same steps on the other shoe and it came out looking fine.
How much duller did you use? Might’ve put in too much
Hi im doing a jordan 4 Bred repaint with flat white and flat black. They dont offer matte finish but have normal, satin and high gloss. Which of those finisher would you recommend and would duller be needed? Can also get krylon matte finisher if its needed
I would use the krylon!
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear gotcha, will be trying some bred 4s repaints thanks
What if you don’t have a airbrush or can’t afford one! Can you recommend to buy a airbrush kit! Cheap can you lmk. Please
Great video, I'm daze stop those hands.lol
🔥🔥🔥
would it be the same if you didn't add the duller to the color but finished it with a flat clear coat at the end?
Yea you can actually just the new 4coat products and don’t even need the duller anymore
Like white because i will cuztomize a pair of canvas or fabric shoes.
Do you use duller on every mix color for portraits and cartoon characters??
I do!
After you use the finisher do you apply any other products after, such as a sealant or krylon spray coat?
Yes, Angelus matte finisher and Krylon spray
Can you do a video on that? I know you can finish with the angelus finishers. There are videos on that. But I don’t see too much on other finishers. Basically a video on different types of finishes with products other than angelus? I just need to know how I should finish my shoe every time. I’m only doing leather shoes.
LenaTaughtYou great topic and one we definitely plan on covering soon! Too give what will be my long answer in the video short, I will say finishers don’t really matter much, especially on leather if we’re talking about durability it is way more important to focus on prep and then proper painting techniques and the finishing will only be about 5-10% of the final equation. I will go into this much more in depth during our vid
Hi could I just add duller in the finisher or in all the paint ill be using?
Finisher could be fine
Can I mix Satin Finisher with Duller?
Yes
So duller is optional ?? I ordered No.600 finisher is that ok
You’ll have a sheen to your artwork if you don’t use it, so it’s a preference thing
SIR DO YOU GIVE ANGELUS PAINT?
I CANT AFFORD TO BUY ANGELUS...
PLEASE IM A FAN HERE
So mix the paint, duller, and 2 thin all together? Also, would you recommend applying the matte finisher with a paint brush or airbrush?
No need for duller anymore. The matte 4 coats are plenty matte
@@DeJesusCustomFootwearthank you so much for the information!
@@divinegraphex701 glad to help
Can you combine angelus 2 soft and Ángeles duller into your paint or is it on or the other ? And can 2 soft be used as a thinner or do you need to get angelus 2 thin?
Yes you can combine them, 2 soft works as a thinner if you’re airbrushing onto softer materials
What if you already bought flat white or flat black paint? Should I just not use the duller?
Nevermind you answered my exact question in the comments lol
hi do you find that there is a big difference between the matt finisher and the usual finisher?
Absolutely! Even the matte needs additional duller
@DeJesusCustomFootwear so, I have to use duller instead of mate finisher? I mean, just 1 product not both?
Nope, you use both.
To seal the paint though if I use the “finisher” will it then give it a sheen?
Yes you mix the duller right into your finisher as shown !
Hey Dejesus! Let's say you have a 1oz bottle of Angelus Matte, how much duller would you have to add to give it a factory finish? (Not completely dull but nowhere near as shiny as original finisher)
Also, to add on, how exactly does Duller make the paint stronger to the shoe? I've heard sources say that it makes it a little weaker in comparison to paint alone, so they add duller to their final coats of colour
.1 oz, but in actuality I recommend just switching over to liquid kicks matte finish and not even using duller
I want to make a pair of black AF1s matte, can i add the duller to the finisher and skip the painting step?
Use liquid kicks matte finish , you won’t even need any duller and it’s the best on the market
@@DeJesusCustomFootwear im gonna be using a brand new pair , do it still need to deglaze?
@@Jevis97 mmmmmmm I kinda doubt it, but I suppose there is a train of thought that if you just apply a new finisher on top that it could crack since it’s not bonding properly
Can anyone help me do i need duller for the paint to be matt or can i use Angelus Acrylic matt finisher?
Both can help! The duller makes the PAINT ITSELF matte, whereas the finisher creates a matte, protective layer
can you just add the matte finisher at the end if you don’t have access to the duller?
No won’t get the same factory look
Do you add duller and 2 thin in your airbrush?
In the airbrush mixture yes, but I don’t put them in the airbrush and then mix them..
How can I know how many drops of duller do I have to use to paint my air jordan 1?
It’s more of a percentage based, you want about 10% of your total mixture
