15 min WALK FOR SENIORS and BEGINNERS | Low impact, heart-healthy exercise | 1200 steps

  • This gentle 15 minute walk has been created for seniors, beginners, anyone dealing with obesity, or for others just getting back to exercise. The walking workout today is a heart-healthy, low impact class with a total of 1200 steps. If you have mobility issues, hold onto a chair and just do the lower body portion of the class. Do what YOU can, work at YOUR own pace, and remember that small steps are also progress.

    I broke my ankle severely last September. I found you looking for chair exercises, and have stuck with this channel throughout my recovery. I love the focus on functional and whole-body movement. I feel it's really helped me throughout my recovery process. I would highly recommend these workouts to people of any age who are rehabbing from an injury or just want to build balance, health and fitness. I often do these with my daughters (15 and 10), and they love them, too. Thank you so much for sharing your expertise and talent!

    Love your videos. I’m 77 and started doing these every morning for just over a month. There are many videos to choose from but I always go back to yours. I have so much more energy. Thank you for this series.

    These slower videos for "Seniors" have really helped me since I had a femur injury. I usually do the other videos but could not do those with this injury. I am glad to see you had these. Thanks!

    Good Morning Jules.....I did this class, I couldn't find a day 3 for the Gentle Exercise True Beginners class, so I did this one and Day 6 of the Beginners Chair Exercise. I really do enjoy all of the them. I will finish the Beginners Chair #7 tomorrow. I going to check into some of the other classes and see what they entail. I will continue the stand-up exercises in the True Beginners for now. I am very thankful you have such a variety of classes, I truly believe they are help me physically and mentally. Later I will be taking a walk or doing my elliptical in the basement. Have a super wonderful day...God Bless.

      Hi Anne, you're a trooper with all the workouts you are trying out....and doing the elliptical, too! Maybe as the next step would be to try one of the all-in-one gentle workouts I have. Those workouts include cardio, strength, balance and stretching exercises all in one workout. I've put some up recently so if you go to the 'videos' after hitting the logo on the main page, you'll see them there.

    I discovered your channel because CZcams brought it up on my feed. I immediately subscribed and have used many of your videos in my morning routine. I started the habit of waking up weekdays at 6am with my husband and going right into exercise. I am 64 years old and mostly healthy but quite “fluffy” (lots of extra padding) and I do suffer with fibromyalgia flareups.
    Attitude of gratitude is so important! Thanks for that reminder. I am thankful for my Lord Jesus, for my family, for friends, for my home, for my hobbies and I am thankful for you and your many videos. So many choices in videos so I don’t have to do the same one over and over. I love the options of lengths and types to choose from Thank you.

    I first found you with your Abba workout and really enjoy that, but I haven't been feeling great for a few days so decided to try a slower workout to at least be moving. I enjoyed your commentary, but also enjoy the faster ones where you are not speaking. Thank you.

    I am 70 years old. When I retired, I would attend aerobics at our Senior Center and Aquasize at a retirement home where the spa was 94 degrees. Then we had a new grandson, my Mother became too ill to stay by herself and Covid closed everything. I have been looking for exercises that fit into my schedule and my needs. I found you on CZcams and have loved the ones I have tried. Thanks!

    I didn't feel like working out today because of a massive headache, but decided to try at least a short sequence. At the end my headache was less painful and my mood improved a lot. Exercise has so many positive effects on the body. I hope to stay motivated. Thank you so much, Jules. 😊

      I find exercise does help with mild headaches, too. I hope you stay motivated as well! What might help is to set a goal for what you will do every day…even if it’s to promise yourself a certain amount of steps, or even a 10 minute workout. Something is better than nothing. Another good way to get in exercise is to move for 2 minutes on the hour, every hour if you can. It all adds up over a day.

    I love your videos! They are just right for me. I am currently in physio therapy for a cranky hip with pain radiating down my leg to the foot. I am doing the chair exercises which seem to be easier on my hip. Thank you so much for doing these videos. Particularly love the the one you did with the "oldies" music.

    There is always, always, always something to be thankful for! You are one. Watching your beginner walks to introduce friends to my passion of walking. This one is a lovely entry level. You're such a good instructor, Jules, giving clear directions and adding motivation. It's especially empowering to hear how many muscles we're working as we walk.       Hi! Any amount of exercise helps and yes, you can lose weight/inches if you burn more calories than you eat. This series is definitely a good program for anyone who needs to start slow. Make sure you include strength training workouts I provide as well to get the full benefit. Strength training increases your metabolism so if you do cardio and strength exercises you will get the most benefits.

    My outside walking was interrupted by a heavy downpour: fallen leaves made the road slippery. I needed another 15 minutes of exercise and this was better than the perfect solution. It uses the upper body and other leg muscles not involved in walking. Concentrating on the moves clears the mind. Better still was the focus on three good things that have happened to me today. In the morning I watched a video about a woman born without arms and legs who writes and gives lectures to encourage other people with disabilities. It was not difficult to find three good things for me and the 15 minutes whizzed by!

    I've been doing other senior workout even though I am not a senior and your video was recommended. I love how gentle they are. It makes me feel accomplished when I finish. Those hardcore workouts always left me feeling too out of shape. I love these!

    Thankful for the many workouts you have and giving me the motivation to do one every morning. Also love my great family. I usually do your intermediate workouts but needed something short for the busy day ahead. I added 1kg weights and increased the pace, just the right amount of time for today.     Thank you so much for this video, exactly what I needed🤗. I am not a sinior yet, but I had a tummy tuck 3 weeks ago and the doctor said I could do the treadmill or stationary bike now, very low impact stuff But I don't like either of those and I don't own one of those anyway. So this one was perfect for me. I like everything about it. Subscribing and looking eto your next workout tomorrow😃. Or later on today maybe 🙂.
