Within this chapter, Kobe finds himself learning the foundational lessons that would eventually lead to him becoming the league's best player, and faces a challenge that will result in a defining moment in his career.

Del Harris clearly didn't know what he was doing. Kobe was better than Jones from jump & should have been 6th man at worse but Harris didn't want to play a high school guy like most the league. Kobe biggest obstacles his rookie year wasn't transition it was dealing with Harris
No doubt Del Harris mishandled Kobe's first couple seasons in the league. Bryant even said multiple times in interviews that he wondered what type of numbers he could've put up for his career of those two seasons hadn't been spent on and off the bench.
