Thank you all for watching! This hunt is a throwback to 2017: before Coin Quest and coin roll hunting placemats, there was Search for Silver. Shout-out to you if you remember these days!
On another note, this was one of my best nickel box hunts ever! So much variety in this box- we got a little of everything! Comment below what your favorite find was!
The Joke warning at the beginning of the video is so nostalgic 😂😂😂
It gets even better than that. I’ve only been coin hunting for about a year now, but it’s mostly been pennies and half dollars. This was only my 2ND nickel box. Overall I’ve had pretty good luck with coin hunting.
That nickel with the 20 and a wreath is from Switzerland and is 20 Rappen. I have found 3 is 14 boxes so far.
do not clean that buffalo nickel. it is a 1913 type 1. you can tell by the raised mound below the buffalo. please compare the back.
@@bestcoins6806 Correct 100%!!!
the first buffalo nickel is a 1913 raised ground
I hate you for spoiling that 🤣🤣🤣
Very nice finds, Thanks for sharing
Nice channel! When I was 13 I would roll nickels from 39-59, but I never thought they would be so desirable 30 years later. I hunted the V plate nickels when I was your age and those were the ones to find. Great job man, it never gets old, trust me:)
Awesome, great story! I'm glad to hear that it still interests you as well!
How many V nickels did you find a box?
Man, looks like a fun box!!!! Keep doing what you do
Some serious finds!
I APPRECIATE SO MUCH YOU AND YOUR EFFORTS TO HELPING US. REALLY YOU ARE SO GREAT😃❤👍
Very good video, I like it. Good job.
I'm super jealous of that box!! Nice hunt, well done😁👍
Nice! Im a huge fan, also great finds!
That’s awesome. I coin roll hunted and coin collected about a year ago and only found one war tine nickle in like 4 boxes. A little bit after that I took a break from collection but want to start again and might post videos on my channel soon. You were also the reason I found out about coin roll hunting so I wanted to say thank you for introducing me into this fun hobby!
Nice! I just got a 1867 shield nickel in a machine wrapped box a week ago! It’s crazy!
Great find!
Thanks! I made a video about it! I got about 100 proofs today! Ike’s, a Susan b Anthony, and lots of half dollars!
@@thatsrichie4580 what year on the susan b?
1981 s
Can I get it I will buy it from you
Excellent video!
I’m in the process of searching a nickel box. So far, I have found some great coins! Video coming soon! Love your videos!!!!
Nice finds! Good video too! I enjoy watching your shows. I subscribed a few weeks ago. Lots of information in your shows. Thank you!
My record for buffalo nickels is 5 all with a date no mint mark
WeekLongWorld Gaming Great Find!
I’m saving this video for tonight 👍🇦🇺
Dude! Wild box! Congrats on the low-mintage V-nickel! I've found 2 V-nickels since January-a 1904 and a 1911-both wiped and substantially higher mintages than '09.
Thank you! I was so shocked when I pulled out the red book and saw how much lower the mintage was for the 1909 compared to the ones around it. I will say this though...I haven't found a v nickel since so it's been about a year and a half now since I got one. Getting two in the span of four months is amazing, regardless of the dates- nice hunting!
The dateless buffalo is actually a 1913 buffalo nickel because the reverse is a type I variety
Dayron Garcia I actually found a type one on Tuesday and I was only two rolls in. Definitely no need to Nic a date.
@@deuceschinagirl congratulations! Good luck! 🙏🙏🙏
Dayron Garcia oh it was a very good box! I found a nice handful of 40s and 50s nickels AND I found a 38 d and a 39 in the same roll.
@@deuceschinagirl Wonderful! I hope you find some more amazing key dates!
The S version of this coin, (to witch I have in my collection) is VERRY, VERY hard to find and worth $50 and up.
great find
Fantastic! Great to see ya!
Thanks SJ!
Excellent finds my favorite also is v nickels, great day for you! Thanks for sharing Coin Roll Hunt! 💕🎈👍👍🎈💕👍
Your channel name is very fitting for that response! :D Thanks for watching!
I just went through my first $100 box of nickels and found my first buffalo nickel along with 19 nickels to add to my collection book between the years 1938 and 1961. including a 1955 Plain with only 8.3 million minted. This channel got me started in coin roll hunting and coin collecting and i really enjoy it. Thanks and keep posting new videos.
Awesome finds! You did something that I still haven't been able to do...find a 1955-P!
@@QuinsCoins sadly the buffalo I found the date was wiped...but i ordered some Nic-a-date to try and reveal it. Also i was wondering what you do with the duplicates you find after you fill the spot in your collection books. I plan on keeping all the silver war nickels i find but wasn't sure if any of the other dates were worth keeping.
update on the buffalo nickel. i used some Nic-a-date and its a 1916-P...nothing special. 63 million of them minted. It's still cool to have found one.
Really nice hunt!!!! Look for double die reverse on the 1939 on five cents and Monticello. Good video
Great box!!!
Nice finds, nickels are my favorite thing to search
Hmmm..... definetely recognize that intro
I do too.
Great finds in the first few! Wow
Nice finds! The Swiss coin is a 20 rappen, and the other foreign is from Norway. Awesome 1909 V nickel, usually you don't find them looking that nice, usually the liberty on the headband is worn away, so that is really good. You should revive the hunt for silver series, it's always fun finding silver!
Thanks for the comment! I will consider bringing back search for silver or something similar to it. Things have definitely changed since then. Thanks for watching!
The first buffalo nickel looks like a 1913 type 1
That first buffalo nickle looks to be a 1913 raised mound variety, I'm sure of it.
Woah... Thats one heck of a hunt, found some cool stuff
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed!
I like your videos keep up the good work
Congrats on your finds!
Thanks Diana!
Congrats on your find, you got some really nice coins.
Dear Quin. That's what's up! EXCELLENT JOB. Thank you. And keep hunting with that luck 🎯✌
Great hunt!
Great finds!!
I got my own nickel box yesterday and i did 16 rolls so far. I got a 1938 and 1939 and a couple in the 1950s and 40s. I was really excited when i got 2 2009s in one roll
Great hunt! 😁👍👍
The Swiss coin is a 20 Rappen coin. I’ve also found one while hunting nickels. I actually hunted a nickel box on Tuesday and only two rolls in when a buffalo popped out. It was pretty worn. No date and the words ‘five cents’ were worn off, but there was no need to Nic-A-Date it (I don’t have any, anyway). The reverse has a raised mound which means it’s a 1913 type 1 buffalo. I was really excited about that, but it gets even better. Further into the box I found another nickel and almost discarded it because it looked like a 1968, but I looked at it closer and realized it was a 1938 and when I turned it over, there was a Denver mint mark on it. If that wasn’t enough, I found a 1939 in the same roll as the 38.
Wow that is a great hunt! I have had terrible luck finding ‘38s but I always love hearing about other people finding them 😆 the type 1 is a great find as well, it turns out the first buffalo I found in this box was a type 1 too! Good luck on your next hunt!
Quin's Coins I’ve been coin roll hunting close to a year now but this was only my 2nd nickel box. I’ve had pretty good luck overall with coin hunting.
That nickel at 5:40 is a 1913 because it has the raised mound on the back of it
Good eye! You’re right, I missed this while making the video!
If only you found This during Coin Quest. 😂
I love finding those V nickels. About 4 or 5 months ago I found an 1883 first year issue V nickel and it's in great shape. I about fell to the floor. Nice finds on that box. I enjoyed this video. Take care and HH. Jim
Never clicked on a video so fast in my life
Similar thing happened to me with the swiss coins, during WW2 they made that same series out of steel. I bought them up cause I thought they were beautiful silver, but now I have a bag of beautiful steel!
Great video, those nickels look good!!
When we saw the "ornate 20" reverse we knew instantly it was (denominated in) Swiss Francs.
Youre right about swiss but its rapen.
@@toxic1ty_exe Yes! 20/100 of a Swiss Franc! We knew it wasn't 20 Francs!
@@tomgraham3612 it looks like my 20 francs coin from 1964 except mine is like a bronze 😂
Awesome V nickel find! Wow two years!
very nice box.I get so many weird coin in my box and have no idea what they are thank you for sharing.
Awesome box. Those are the ones that keep me going when you have a couple of bad ones.
The Great American Coin Hunt is underway!!
V nickel in a box is pretty incredible to find as well as that 1951 S thanks for sharing
Hi Friend...just want to say.....your episodes are the BEST,,,,Thanks
except this isn't a new episode its a re upload of an older one... i would hope that he would upload a new one
It's not a re-upload. It is old footage that was never posted on the channel until now.
you explain so clearly nice voice thank you.
I found a dateless buffalo a few days ago, in my fourth nickel box. It was dateless, but at an angle with a magnifying glass, I saw it was 1915!
Nice hunt.
5:53 that might be a 1913 type 1
That's a helluva box!
nice finds!
Oh how much I miss the armadillo gear.
Congrats on the 1913 type 1 buffalo(the first one since it has a raised mound) and the v-nickel!
Thank you! Good eye on the type 1, I didn’t notice it at the time of making the video!
I would still keep the 2009 nickel with the gunk on it because why not its still rare and Its cool to have in a collection
Cool coins! I recently found a 1939 quarter in a few quarter rolls I got.
HI Quin, I really enjoy your programs, if you role your return coins could you start pushing to have people black mark down the sides of the roles, just a simple marker line, to indicate the role has been searched. if we all did it it would really help knowing it's been searched.
that indian is a 1913!!!! the reverse is different
Yup, good eye and thanks for commenting!
these were the days AKA Search for Silver!!!!!
Hello i am so fascinated on how many are buying cases of coins and finding good finds. You should keep it an look into the coin more could be an error in my opinion. Wow i wish i new how to buy coins. congratulations
Nice hunt man!
Thanks!
Hi quin cool video as usual.
Thank you!
@@QuinsCoins your welcome
Nice finds
So yesterday I got a box of pennies and the very 1st roll was a ender! But it was very common tho it was a ‘52 D wheatie and also 98 percent of the box was 2019 pennies why? What do I do? I’m looking for the W mint
Hey, that Swiss coin had some reverse imaging going on; as you flipped the coin the head "obverse" was way off the center and that's the kind of error coin people like currently. Or foreign coins aren't centered like US coins?
nice video Quinn
What is the camera setup? Just curious, thinking of getting a magnifier/camera. Any recommendations?
Hey 5:58 was a 1913 type one buffalo nickel in case you didn’t notice
I do like that you can nickel hunt and it's no trick at all to find some 50 year old examples. Tons and tons of 60s, 50s, even some 40s without much effort.
I found a 1939 nickel while coin roll hunting and it was in really good condition like ms+! :D
i have found one of those!
Nice! What was the year on it?
the first Buffalo nickel you found at 5:37 was a first year 1913 because it had the raised mound on the back.
Just over 800 million American Bison nickels made in a few months of 2005 only, and only coin collectors even remember what they are --- but the Buffalo Nickels (1913-1938) are well-remembered by the folks --- about 1200 million of those were made for the whole series.
The buffalo nickel is date less it's a 1913 raise hill one , there the only year that fade like that on back
I found a 1942 d nickel not a war nickel last box, with the dateless buffalo. I also found a 1939 s key date nickel, at 6.6 million minted!
Ian back
شكرا كثرآ
incredible intro! still watchin!
Looks like you flipped a double reverse coin @2:48 😳
holly crap you found a 1913 type 1
just found the 38 s yesterday, I have a 38 d and I have 5 38 (p)'s, and 26 silvers all found in 3 weeks of nickle looking. Matter of fact I filled up a 1938 - 1961 nickle book already. been having good luck with the harrisburg rolls, since thats all anybody has been geeting anywhere in my area for about 4 months now. Havnt seen any loomis rolls since
Nice 1909 V .:) QC
about 2 yrs ago i got a 20 swiss rappen from 1944 in a roll of canadian nickels in great condition at that time i looked it up it was worth about 8.00 dollars and i only bought 5 rolls
I feel like you should keep that 2009 d
Hey Quin I found a 1893 liberty head V nickel. I wish I could show it to u. I work at a casino and that's where I found it. I was super EXCITED when I found it.
The buffalo looks like it may be a 1913 type 1 looking at the ground the buffalo is standing on
I believe that you are correct!
Where do you get the rolls at?
What kind of book are you using?
What book are you using?
Great CRH , like and sub.
Do you re-roll the coins yourself? All the banks in my area including chase have stopped customers from using the coin counting machines. No longer able to do this anywhere around here.
Im expanding out to looking for old nickel's... I currently do wheat-back pennies.. My oldest so far is a 1919...but it is corroded...can hardly read a date on it....i did not find it in penny rolls.....i actually got it back as change from Kroger. I def. looked at it under the coin microscope right away....and it is very real.
I have 1940 s all the way through 1950 s in nickels :)) so happy lol although I have alot of coins I'm sure you have quadruple the amount
