He also got a tune up so that he could make extreme explosion noises when he downshifts. He put mean studded tires on it and we drove crazy hills in the snow. my brother could wave at other Subaru cars and they would wave back.

As a Colorado native that drives that exact Subaru to you I say; nailed it. However, do you know why so many people in Colorado drive Subarus? Because when it's dumping snow and you got to get somewhere, nothing beats a Subaru. (Dumping snow at this moment)
20 years ago I would've totally agreed but at this point I don't think subies do much better than most modern AWD cars in the snow. My wife's RAV4 charges through it with the best of Subs

@@stevenhall657 they use 2 different systems, Subaru uses symmetrical awd where power is sent to all wheels simultaneously. Toyota uses dynamic torque vectoring awd where theyre front wheel biased (i think 100:0 actually but i could be wrong) but supply power when needed to the rear wheels.
Symmetrical awd beats out DTV in nearly every situation, but being worse in fuel economy. There are comparison test videos you can watch on them. There are cars that can barely move 3 feet up an incline that the Subaru almost idles up

I lived in Colorado and had a Subaru and this is 10000000% accurate. Also, in the mountains, there is ALWAYS a dog in the passenger seat.
True story: I was the first owner of an outback a few years ago. It was the second day into driving it and spot something wedged between the seat and arm rest. It was a big ass vape left behind by a test driver. My outback came with a vape.
Now in a WRX, this is too true from both sides.

I'm in Australia. The guys who drive subarus here are about 18 year old, drive a subaru impreza with spoiler and intentionally loud car exhausts, they are usually seen killing someone while speeding/street racing and or killing someone through a dui and all they can do is have their parents force them to say sorry to victims. They usually amount to nothing and fulfill their lives by endlessly modifying their 2002 impreza subaru, before they realise they have to get a career and get their parents to get them an apprentice job as a labourer or some shit.
