    When you consider who works at the post office, it’s no surprise. There’s an over-representation of a certain group in government employment, which is one reason why the government is so unreliable and inefficient. And it’s absolutely ridiculous that we have to buy insurance due to their untrustworthy employees.

      You have a solid point. It’s the socioeconomic group, not any specific race. There should be a barrier of entry to handle packages. It’s a shame that Amazon has better controls than the USPS.

      We have a little thing called the Inspection Service. They watch over employees very well. However the postal service has taken to cutting staff and hiring temporary employees and they don’t care. I worked in maintenance and we had calls every day about people that were not employees at the Postal Sevice, breaking into mailboxes, sometimes breaking in the boxes in the lobby of post offices. Too many crack heads roaming the streets.

      most of them look like former (or current) substance abusers from what I've seen. The drivers are usually better, but the postal centers are sketchy as hell.

      @@SilverHusky12 there is supposed to be but most of the posts offices don’t lock the employee or dock doors. And many of these offices have homeless people sleeping in the lobbies and shitting and pissing there well. Not to mention they are heating and air-conditioning the outside not too smart.

      For electronics, yes. In this case, we are discussing precious metals. Could also apply to high-end collectibles.

    I had $3000 in packages disappear this past year. I have a camera on the front of the property and mail area and even showed that the carrier never dropped off the package. They denied my claim and I was unable to get anywhere with them. I even showed that the time at which the package was marked delivered and the time which the courier arrived to my house didn’t align at all.

    They won't steal mine. I am that guy who is watching the tracking and holding EVERYONE accountable. It would be a bad idea to fk with me.

      Man, I can’t even tell you how close I watch tracking. They once told me “we can’t find it. Sorry.”

      @@SilverHusky12 If you use a credit card or Pay Pal, you can get your money back. I go through this quite often. It's a little diligence on your behalf, but if you want to do business, that's the way of the world now.

    Was it in a box? They do have insurance you know.

    • @SilverHusky12
      @SilverHusky12  Před 5 měsíci +1

      It was in a box inside of another box. As an aside, the USPS won’t insure precious metals unless they are numismatic and graded by a reputable grading agency. As discussed in the video, outside insurance is what is needed. The question is why do we even have to purchase insurance for packages when we are already paying to send them. Sounds like some messed up form of extortion.
