Fun fact, 12 is too few since we still have more things in this world
A good theory is that Cosmo doesn't corrupt the same way that Abyss does. And Cosmo is the element of the universal stars, while Abyss is the element of the underworldly stars.
BUT BUT, Abyss = Cosmo is also very much the case, which would reduce the element pool to 11 (for now, until we see other elements)!
Then is it possible that cosmo is an element between ether and void
If dain is immortal, how do you know it doesn't corrupt? Plus, this "cosmo" you suggest has the same star pattern as the rest of the abyss.
@@pieperson444 i was considering two possibilities, and one was what if that is the power of the abyss. And the question that stumped me was
1. How would he even get something like that
2. Why would he be so against the AO if he's also wielding the power of the abyss
3. He already looked like this in the Caribert cutscene prior to the AO's creation
So what Im thinking is that if cosmo was an element, it'd be a mix of both of the other two OR
The Abyssal power is already innate within the people of Khaenriah or that Dain just has some extra baggage we dont know about yet. Your guess is as good as mine
Ok
when dain says "beyond", and with what we now know of the war with the second who came about the nail's function, it's also possible that cosmo came from swc specifically, and maybe void did as well
it would be so funny if the khanriah story ended and then the devs were like "lol here's like 6 more elements"
Book 1 chapter 1 has ended. Now we start chapter 2
@@kanishkjaiswal5088 you mean book 2? chapter 2 was the inazuma archon quest
Then basically 5 or 6 years of new content - not the first time since they do the same with Honkai Impact
To be fair, this is only the 'teyvat' chapter
It would be even funnier if they did that and then go "Yeah, we're also adding the symbols of those elements in the loading screen as well so that you'll wait longer for the game to load".
i fucking love the idea that dendro is the fibers holding the world together. our nerve cells are called dendritic bc they are fractal like trees. fractals repeat themselves for all eternity; capillaries can spread infinitesimally through our bodies stretching infinitely thin and microscopic. makes me wonder if perhaps alice might be dendro, bc she is the only being so far that is truly omnipresent
Cool idea but in the original chinese, the element is grass.
@@pieperson444 Grass is everywhere, so omnipresence still applies.
@@adiaphoros6842 the desert and snowy areas: 👀
@@sussynanibaka69 dragonspine does technically have grass, its just not strong in dendro. and there is a little bit of grass in the desert, but we also know that the desert used to look just like dharma forest before the war with the second
I think aster got it backwards, that things are not basic forms of elemental energy. Rather, certain things contain elemental energy, but they are completely seperate. For example, a water slime has a lot of water energy, but doesn't have actual water in it. It can use water energy to manifest water. Likewise, water contains a lot of water energy. In other words, these two things are exclusive. You can have a stone full of pyro and no geo, or water full of cryo but no hydro. Attributing the elements to being the same as the things they are most related to would be a mistake.
... now I'm wondering if the 5 artifact categories (Life, Death, Space, Time, and Logos) are actually representing the 5 hidden elements
They might be analogues to Honkai Impact 3rd elements.
Life = bio
Death = mech
Space = quantum
Time = imaginary
Logos = psych
@@Gnidel quantum and imaginary don't map very well onto space and time.
Huh. And it checks too. Life being Ether, Death being Abyss, Space speaks for itself, as well as Time, and Logos could me Cosmic since if the power is from beyond Teyvat, it took knowledge to harness it. Imagine being right from 6 years from now
@@JulesVante It would make more sense for space to be aether.
@@pieperson444 I decided to map Imaginary to time, because time is tied to Imaginary Tree. Otto even managed to time travel using it.
Quantum for space because traversing through Sea of Quanta is like traveling through chaotic space.
Just looking at Star Rail, I think that the Imaginary and Quantum elements stand out the most, considering the Imaginary Tree inside the Sea of Quanta, where allegedly the world of Teyvat is located...
So it's possible that both the Light and Abyss elements are both the equivalent to Imaginary and Quantum, both powers from beyond. The twins were traveling from world to world, to me it's easy to guess that they were traveling within the Imaginary Tree, and since the Imaginary element is represented by yellow which is associated with light which is also the color of the Twins' original powers, I think that this is what their original powers are.
This probably didn't make any damn sense to
to anyone who read this but to me it's clear in my mind lol, I just thought I'd maybe leave that here
Honestly this needs more attention. It makes so much sense to me that if Genshin and the Honkai-verse are connected in any way, then the Travelers would definitely be aligned to the Imaginary element, and the Abyss would be Quantum-aligned. My personal theory is that the Heavenly Principles (or Teyvat itself) somehow restricts the elements to just 7, and that would make a lot of sense out of why the Travelers became trapped and lost all of their power (because Imaginary doesn't exist here) and why the Abyss seems to want to fundamentally change/destroy Teyvat (to introduce Quantum into the elements?)
Personally I think it's an entirely logical step towards the "Teyvat is an attempt to save humanity from the Honkai" theory. If the Honkai phenomenon is connected somehow with the Tree and the Sea, then maybe creating a space in which the native elements of the Tree and Sea are fundamentally forbidden may somehow keep them out? 🤔🤔
@@omnichromia Woah that makes a lot of sense actually.
i’ve always thought that the abyss in genshin is really just the sea of quanta. chaotic, doesn’t follow linear time, countless enemies waiting to ambush you, represented by a dark purple. that portal leading you to the abyss could very well just be something similar to the eye of the deep
Now that I think about it, you're probably right.
Altho, the hoyo-multiverse thing doesn't change the fact we have around 3 other elemental powers unique to Teyvat
in HSR they already introducing Calestia at day 1, meanwhile in Genshin the Calestia isn't even showing up, we only know about Heavenly Principles and her power isn't even elemental power, so the story isn't even at the main course is still long way to go
The one thing that scares me when thinking about additional elements in Genshin is that they will be another hue of blue color. Like, we already have three of them so why not add another one or two.
Genshin loves blu
It would make sense that dendro was the original element and the only One to have never changed since It's HEAVY connection to irminsull and the dragon still being alive
No light definitely is
@@Iyala-iyala what? Did you reply to the right comment? If so what do you mean?
YES real
okay so if too much hydro slimes can be harmful to humans, then how do Xiangling eat pyro slimes
Xiangling built difference i guess
Maybe its because of the vision? Idk
Maybe there's a way of separating elemental energy from a body or object? Or it just happens naturally on death (the second seems more likely while the first seems more likely to be very important if it doesn't exist yet in genshin)
Because She cooks them and her blessing makes everything She cooks good and edible
xiangling paradise
What if Dainsleif doesn’t even use an element and the energy he makes is just from some where Khaenri’ah tech bullshit lmao
Edit: Is it just me, or is it REALLY weird to the fact that the traveller hasn’t received a vision yet. You could argue it’s because they’re from another world but so is Aloy and yet she has a Cryo vision. It could be the fact that the traveller doesn’t need a vision to utilise elements but still. Since currently the only elements the traveller doesn’t have is Hydro, Pyro, and Cryo it’s still possible they could receive a Vision of those elements. Or maybe they get a Vision of one of the 5 missing elements.
Can a philosopher's stone be possible for something like that
@@kanishkjaiswal5088”You’re a wizard Traveler.”
Or the disappearance of the 5 missing elements are locked behind celestia, abyss, and maybe the dark sea
Teyvat is just a continent
@@RoyalTfriibased on what you said there could’ve been Archons for the 5 missing elements but Celestia had something against them and decided to kill them and destroy their Gnosises, then Irminsul-erasing them. Possibly permanently erasing them and their elements and stop the appearance of those elemental Visions.
Edit: Also possibly nuking their Nations 💀
a little extra thing idk if it was mentioned but the elemental specialist series 1 name card has space for exactly 12 elements. I suggest looking at it in game if anyone is curious, i always though how the elements on the card where always spaced out so weirdly.
13:06 pyro, hydro, geo, dendro, etc. are Greek words. so it does make sense to also have Greek words for the other elements: Halo (Light), Chrono (Time) and Cosmo (Otherworldly).
Maybe (Dark) would be Erebo.
Or (Void) would be Keno.
And (Space) would be Spatio.
Can we have (Mind/Psychic) Psycho?
I doubt they'd make all of these Elements playable. Time and Space would be far too broken. Light and Darkness? If they could make them more neutral so it'd make sense for both heroes and villains to use them, maybe. I'd have trouble seeing a Fatui use Light or Aether using Darkness. But, maybe it's possible? If it were; it'd be fun to add Nations to represent them. I would like to see Light ("Halo"?) Slimes and Darkness ("Erebo"?) Slimes too. What could they even do?
@@joesunday199 if hoyoverse decide to pursue integrating these “new” elements, i’m sure they can figure out a way to make the slimes of these elements work. that would be so interesting!
@@froeloe Elemental Reactions would be interesting.
@@joesunday199 Probably the same mechanics as in pokemons. And what they do? They do dark attacks with energy from the darkness while they are immune to psychical attacks. Pokemons have so many playable elements and it works, so why not Genshin?
@@petrzapletal7450 Maybe. But, Genshin has a lot different lore than Pokemon. It's just hard to imagine without more.
Edit: Aren't Ghost types immune to physical? I don't think it is Dark types.
5:07 about dendro not having to do with plants due to its association with electro, this was actually done with plants in mind, in one of hoyo's videos on creating it they explained how electro is the element of energy (electro traveler is a battery, high voltage grants a particle upon causing an electro reaction, the high voltage card lets your character gain 1 energy, etc). So applying electro to dendro and dendro objects is similar to giving energy- which in the case of real life would have to be light ofc -to plants.
On the other hand, sure we see kaveh and nahida use schematics and computer like abilities in their idles and attacks via dendro (most likely due to irminsul functioning like teyvat's memory storage like a computer stores memory), but that's only characters and its just particular to their specific roles of being either irminsul's guardian or an architect using technology for his blueprints. On the other hand, we also see nahida's burst growing plants at the characters' feet, alhaitham using leaves in his skill and burst, traveler using leaves and what appears to be vines in their skill, yaoyao using radishes in her skill, traveller and collei having mushroom based bursts, tighnari using flowers in all of his dendro-based attacks, and yaoyao using flowers in her burst. Ofc we have exceptions of the elemental attacks that dont match the raw form of the element in people like kaveh, baizhu, and later kirara, but it's not like we don't have that sort of trend within other elements either.
huh, the idea of having the light(purify) and dark(abyssal) in teyvat exists for quite a while and with the royal guards wielding something like abyssal flame I got this idea: what if there are 14+2 elements?
7x "clean" elements + light, 7x "corrupted/altered/counter" elements + darkness which would be a much better fit for the chess board as well, since the 7 archons represent only 7 of the 16(32 for both sides) chess pieces. And since "checkmate is not where the game ends" - Pierro, it got me thinking that we dont even know half of what is to come.
We dont even know for sure who we are even playing against, do we?
The Abyss is still shrouded in mystery, celestia even more, what exactly is/are the Sustainer doing and what about the other prime dragons or the dragon king, or the other shades?
And as long as Alice is not just meant to be a gimmicky, wild card, troll character, then we barely even touched the interstellar scope of a possible multiverse yet.
Similar to how Star rail presented us with 7 playable paths, even though at least 14 paths got mentioned.
If we're using Greek words for the formal terms of elements then Light would be Photo & Darkness would be Scoto.
If they introduce "Space" Element, and they have the Sustainer be a user of it then they may call it "Void" since she looks similar to the Herrscher of the Void form for Kiana in Honkai.
Wouldn't it make more sense to just call it "abyss"
@@livvyTV Yeah it would. I was just giving an example of an option they may go with. It would probably end up being Abyss anyway, but Mihoyo loves throwing curve balls.
I wonder if Dainsleif's element could be the Quantum element from the Honkai games. I belive they have a similar color scheme and it makes sense as a power from beyond
Maybe paimon might be using a mix between Space and cosmic element, not only that she can teleport (Which might be related to Space) but when she fly's she emits Some constellation like things which is often considered to cosmos
This is just my speculation tho
In the Apep story quest there is a little detail that really bothers my mind.
Its a small detail but if you remember the first time that elemental fungi talks about her child she said that she named her after a traveler from far land but because it has happened so long in the past she cant remember her child's name.
But in the fight scene with apep we hear that she named her child Nur(نور), which in persian means the same as Lumine.
The question here is that shouldn't her child’s name change depending on which of the siblings is your main character?!
Wow, I didn't notice that. Perhaps Lumine, if there are different timelines, is interfering with Aether's.
I’m a bit late but nur has a meaning in Arabic too. And it simply means light, which could resonate well with both aether and lumine.
Ever since TCG came out I’ve been referring to “light” element as “Omni”.
I believe the Traveler has Omni Elemental abilities and Principle might be using some kind of Void. Hard to say because Raiden Puppet hit us with what I’m used to calling “Void”. That Final Fantasy type of darkest enfeeble. The ones that make you slow, confused, sick and heavy all at once. I believe they refer to it as Gravity in some of the FF series. I’m curious if they’ll let us know what Raiden Puppet was using to turn our brain into molasses
Also in the 3.6 world quest we get the knowledge that the Khaenri'ans made their original power source with a complex purifying process of taking the pure elemental energy in Ley Lines, using Khvarena, which is capable of purifying nearly anything(making me think Khvarena might be the light element), and making an energy block out of it. About 5'000 years ago, they found an alternative energy source from beyond the heavens that they started using instead and might be what got them punished by Celestia. This alternative energy source could be a new element that is not yet introduced to the game
It's my theory that visions and "non-pure" elements are really abyssal versions of the pure elements, like Abyssal fire, abyssal water, etc. I think this is the case because we know that what is contained in visions are not pure elements, and what's the opposite of pure? Unpure, abyssal. There's also hints that people with visions somehow have a price to their vision, but it's never stated what this price is, which is similar to abyssal powers because Abyss powers nearly always have a cost
I would probably name Space element as Choro (derived from "χώρος" ptonounced as chóros which is the greek term for space.)
It's also very interesting bec after looking it up, choros or chora for space and chronos for time are always interlinked together, the same way only traveler and paimon had access to the usage of waypoints and time changing in the game.
a reminder about the Three Realms Gateway Offering Event in Enkanomiya in v2.5 where we collected Light Realm sigils - exactly the same as the other treasure sigils we collect with the element emblems on them, but instead with a gold token and a sun-like emblem. So we in theory know the sigil for an 8th element.
I'm not even 2 minutes into the video but I've heard the word "elements" so many times that I feel dizzy now 😵💫
Take a shot. I legit couldn't find another word to replace it.
@@ChillwithAster yeah I know 😆 I just wasn't ready for all this elemental energy all at once lol
10:21 The bluish lines and schematic-like blueprints that signify time manipulation remind me of the invisible constructs all around King Deshret’s Mausoleum. I think Ashikai actually proposed that those invisible puzzles in the desert aren’t just invisible but they exist at a different time in the past or the future.
I also see the goldish-yellow coloring of the Traveler’s Light element and it reminds me of the Imagination element from Honkai.
Likewise, the purplish-blue Abyss/Void energy reminds me of the Quantum element from Honkai.
I wonder if Teyvat or Genshin Impact in general is just another leaf on Hoyoverse’s Tree of Imagination and the Void that exists like a watery night sky all around it is the Sea of Quanta.
I also wonder if the Primordial One is some sort of creature that traverses the branches of the tree, like Ratatoskr in Norse Mythology, and goes around making universes habitable enough to sustain human life.
Maybe the Void is like the Honkais which only seek to destroy universes to make way for new ones?
When I think about time in Teyvat gears start shifting. Coming from a Honkai adjacent observation you shouldn't be able to see the future. Prediction (Maxwell's Demon style) is one thing but reliable prophecy shouldn't be possible unless your world is somehow located in the past or if the entire world is operates in a giant samsara or something. In which case the future which already happened would be recorded in Irminsul.
Just thinking aloud, making crack associations that are almost certainly wrong haha. Still gotta finish Sumeru questlines so there's probably something in one of them that contradicts the idea.
Samsara is highly likely, it's been theorised to be whats happening ever since 3.x samsara storyline.
It would explain a lot of things EXCEPT why the traveler isn't in Irminsul but the abyss sibling is.
9:55 Green Magic/Green Mage is a type of magic that specialises in Buff/Debuff Spells, not specialising in manipulating time as they learn spells like Protect, Blind and Shell. There’s a Time Mage in Final Fantasy series that has the gimmick manipulating the time in battles or Astrologian who similar abilities to manipulate Time, Space and read the stars.
The space element you spoke of is like reality manipulation...so my theory is that its the element of reality which gives the weilder power to create things in real world for short amounts of time, things that dont and shouldnt exist , but are being created is the result of reality manipulation, and teleportation is associated with other elements too( especially abyss one ) so that explains that teleportation doesnt necessarily mean space manipulation
I can see teleportation being specifically an abyssal/void thing. space is physical reality while void is 'the lack of', and after all the shortest path between point A and point B isn't a straight line now is it?
With you on Chrono for Time, but "Halo" actually means "Salt", not "Light". The Greek root word for "Light" is "Leuko". And "Cosmo" does actually mean "Space", so that should probably go there. An alternative for "Otherworldly" would be "Xeno" which means "Foreign" or "Alien" or "Strange", boiling down to "Does Not Belong".
"Void" being it's own thing is cool tho.
If the Space and Void elements follow the current naming convention it will be:
Space = Choros
Void = Kenos
Both are Greek direct translations.
Didn't Albedo mention in his story quest, that in different worlds, the rules for elements might be different? For examle, that it could be possible to wield elements without a vision. I think there could be much more to that
I imagine that there were only 7 original elements in Teyvat (see the 7 dragon lords) and all the others were imported from other worlds. While some of them manifest as forbidden knowledge/Abyss/Dains mystery element, some of them could be accepted by Teyvat (the ones coming with the primordial one). The primordial one probably had to prepare/change something fundamental in the worlds structure before that and we know he had to do something along those lines, to prepare the world for humans. Despite all of that, humans still can't be exposed to too much elemental power, except if they have a vision (see also hydro slime description). It's similar the other way around, as seen by bathysmal vishaps which fled and had to adapt to the human realms first, but still can't fully accept it (see Bathysmal Vishap Experimental Records).
Another interesting thing I found in the Bathysmal Vishap Experimental Records is, that it seemingly wasn't possible for vishaps to develop into the pyro element. Maybe that goes for other elements as well, but it was the only one explicitly mentioned.
Lastly I really love the colors of ther rainbow name card, which you also mentioned but it always makes me wonder since if there are more "fractions of the elemental colors", there still were exactly seven elemental sovereigns and still we only have 7 different playable elements. It makes me wonder if we could have a salt or a dust element, when thinking about dead gods like Havria or Guizhong.
Well elements in genshin aren't just fire, water, earth, air, lightning, cold and nature. They are energy that manifests with different properties for every element and they do in fact lead to the creation of these natural phonomenons. It could be that these elements are linked to the creation or rather recreation of Teyvat by the first who came after they won the war against the dragon kings. As for the other elements, it's very possible that the primordial one wields the light or omni element from which all other elements can be created, the traveler also wields it and thus can manipulate all other elements. The abyss element is the darkness element and it's probably the element that consumes and in a way destroys all other elements and is the opposite of the omni element. These are the two primary elements. As the primordial one has four shades, it's possible that they too represent a lesser element, the only confirmed shade is the shade of time istaroth, who would wield the time element if it's a thing. The other ones are theorized to be life, death and void, although I do not agree with this as dendro is basically the life element, void is the abyssal element and it doesn't make sense for it to be lesser to the omni element and as for death it's too similar to the void to be a different element.
His element is light, which is composed of colors when you break it down. That's why he can use every element in teyvat with their corresponding colors respectively.
I had a very similar idea, but the elements I came up with are more based in what we know from other HoYoverse games.
Minor spoilers for HI3 and HSR ahead
- Light/ The trailblaze path
It is the original power of the traveler, as the video said.
I like to connect it with the Trailblaze from HSR since we know the traveller used to travel to different world, something that is very difficult in the universe the games take place unless the power of the trailblaze is used. Also, the ideology of the path of the trailblaze kinda makes me think of the traveller. And yes, the power of the trailblaze is usually depicted as blue, but in the "Fables about the Stars" trailer we can see the astral express surrounded by a yellow energy in a form resembling shooting stars. The traveller could being a path strider or even an emanator from the Trailblaze.
Possible characters: The traveller, Alice
- Void/ abyssal power
I don't have much to add to the things already said in the video.
Possible characters: The abbys sibling, The sinner, Any current or future character from the abyss order.
- Quantum
So, if you have played HI3 or HSR, you should know the universe in which these game occur is conformed by two principal forces. The first one is the quantum, which represent the possibilities and the chaos. It is also the thing that separates different worlds. I think this could be the element used by Khaenri'ahns, since it's usually represented by a blue-ish color similar to the color of Dain's powers. Also, if Khaenri'ahns were able to open gates to other worlds it could mean they got some kind of power over the quantum.
Possible characters: Dainsleif, Pierro, other characters from Khaenri'ah.
- Imaginary
It is the other force which constitute the universe and represent abstract concepts and order. I think this could be the element of Celestia, since is the opposite of quantum, the one I associate with Khaenri'ah. Also, there is Istaroth who is (probably) from Celestia and she controls time. Imaginary is related with honkai and honkai is related with time.
Possible characters: Istaroth, The Primordial One, The four shades.
- Forbidden knowledge
Yeah, I don't think forbidden knowledge is the same as abbysal power. Mostly due to abyssal power being represented with a purple-ish color and forbidden knowledge with a red one.
Possible characters: The unknown god (since her arm and bubes are of this red-ish color I was talking about)
Wouldn't Unknown God be more like Void since her attacks ressembles Herscher of Void?
@@yukishiro3287 That's true. But as I said, I'm thinking more about the colors
Look at the 5 artifacts those are some elements. Life death time space
hmmm... I was initially thinking dain's element was the abyssal element, but upon further inspection, even compared to the abyss sibling's ingame abyssal power, dain uses a different colour, even within the same cutscene.
though, dain did say in the 2.6 archon quest that he's very familliar with abyssal power. abyssal power also fits the description of "a power from beyond", since the abyss is often described as alien, otherworldly, etc. for example, the greater lord calls forbidden knowledge "knowledge that is not of this world. it came from the very bottom of the abyss", and chunk of aerosiderite also mentions that gold created monsters with alien blood flowing through their veins.
with khaenri'ah's contact with the abyss, there'd also be an explanation to how dain got it.
but then again, dain doesn't like the abyss, and the abyss is consistently shown as bad/harmful... so yeah, I guess time will tell.
but, regardless of what his element is, I theorise that pierro also has it, since his mask also has that dark blue colour, and he's also from khaenri'ah. and, since we know dain will be playable and will bring a new element with him, I imagine pierro will also be playable, since they're gonna need characters with this element.
It feels like if Genshin is going to take the destiny 2 route of elements being representations of the physical and mental spaces in the universe
Maybe abyss manifests from the will to change fate by destroying and holy is manifest by the will to change fate by preserving, protecting, or creating.
Putting this question here because I’m unqualified to find the answer
If Irminsul was an original inhabitant of Teyvat, then why is its current avatar considered much younger than apep “only existing for a fraction of what you know as time”. Unless apep was talking about nahida and not Irminsul, which has me thinking what was its relationship with the other dragon lords and the Primordial one? and how did it get in good graces with the heavenly principles. I need answers about the God of wisdom? Is it playing celestia
God it's too late thinking about genshin lore
Space and Cosmo would be crazy as playable elements. Aesthetic-wise, I agree with you about Space. we NEED a royal red like that and the Sustainer has my fav design and powers in the game even though she's not even really in it yet
since geshin elements are greek words, they might be something like....
Void, Kenos
Ether, Aithéras
Space, Chóros
Time, Chrónos
There's also the Imaginary and Quantum elements from the honkai series that could play well with time and space or light and void
The way that they represent Dendro in character animations is more akin to holograms rather than actual plants but the imagery is still there; Nahida has leaves, Yao Yao uses radishes, Tighnari's bow becomes wrapped in vines. In essence, it's still nature. Not to mention, using Dendro on plants restores them after they're burnt from Pyro, they restore life to them.
Dendro is connected to Irminsul which is why it's more electronic in presentation (since Irminsul is like software) so I'm inclined to think that maybe Apep manipulated just like our characters do.
I really enjoyed this video, my only differing opinions would be I do believe dain wields abyssal energy in the form of abyssal fire and it would just be so dain like to be able to wield it without consequences and it could still make sense if the consequence of it exists would be his blue veins possibly causing him pain which he's learned to adapt to when using his powers and to me Khanreiah being a nation who became so advanced from man power and no help of the elements has always seemed to be the most truthful when dain talks about power not of the world I believe he means power the traveler may possess and on a side note I'd like to believe Apep was the dragon of nature if dendro didn't exist at the beginning because even though we'd likely have Earth, Earth and nature are two completely different things
I have a random shower thought when Aster mentioned celestia.
What if the power of Celestia is a form of mimicry of the original elements of Teyvat that the descender who introduced it used to control the dragons?
It might explain why there are separate conventions when tackling raw elements and elemental energies, why Apep became the Dendro dragon,
(Apep is known for their adaptability. If the Celestia emulated the elements and created Dendro, Apep would be the first to integrate that into its system and make it their own.)
why Celestia was able to impart all 7 types of elements into visions (and why the visions are steps closer to Celestia) and might be the reason why the Tsaritsa was collecting the 7 gnoses. To use them all at once and wield Celestial magic of her own.
Love the music choice ❤
We'll definitely be getting Imaginary and Quantum though they'll probably be called Light and Abyss or something similar in Teyvat. In Hi3 they were more associated with unit type and have another element tied to them, but in HSR they seem to be more their own element. Hi3 and HSR both also have the Physical aspect in place of some characters not having elements so I'm surprised we haven't got any pure Physical characters (yet) in Genshin. When Raiden Shogun was stripping those of their Visions would have been a good opportunity imo. An empty Vision orb seems the perfect host for a Physical sigil to appear in it if they ever wanted to, though for a Physical Vision sigil to exist would mean the birth of a new God as well which would be really confusing in the current lore. But then again, doubt Light and Dark will get any Visions neither and will just be tied to the character's element similar to how a Visionless Physical would probably be. Think we'll only see their sigils in the character screen so we as players can distinguish their damage types.
Interesting! I agree that there are in all likelihood 12 elements (in lore), and your proposed examples feel like good ideas.
Thinking of other in-game examples: Light energy: characters appear to use it to hide their weapons, Inazuma sword characters use it in their sheathing animations and Hu Tao uses it to teleport in her uninfused sprint. Void on the other hand: Ei and Venti's burst, perhaps? And the hole in the ground/sky in the new desert region. As well as the teleports into domains, and the teleport spheres; though the latter might be cosmo instead.
Jumping into trans-game theory crafting, I'd strongly suspect that the yellow and dain's blue variants of energy are Genshin's versions of the Imaginary/Quantum; making one the element of logic and the other of space. (Goblet of Eonothem and Circlet of Logos?).
Anyway, what I did want to say is that I've seen moments of a magenta energy in the game as well, though usually not in places that clearly mark it as an element - for example, if you look carefully at the animation when using Sumeru's spiderman anchors (do they have an official name?) you'll see the character turn into a yellow ball trailing being him teal, magenta and yellow.
The split between elements and elemental energies is also interesting, I haven't come across the idea before. Might that be what white is? Pure elemental energy, uninfused by the world's natural elements?
Sumeru Spiderman's anchor = Four leaf sigil
I enjoyed the frequent use of Aether when talking about Ether.
I do LOVE this theory but I wanted to shed some insight on the Hydro Slime part at the beginning! Pure water is actually very unsafe to drink, because all the water humans drink has nutrients and minerals inside. Pure H2O would have no nutrients or minerals and would actually sap your own -- this has been tested in real life, where a guy who drank pure H2O said it felt like his tongue was burning. The water was leeching the salt and minerals from his own tongue.
Time to upload this video directly into my brain. I wanna watch it again and again and again until I've reached maximum understanding and and and- hey cool video
If the speculation that the primordial one was the winner of the war between itself and the second who came, this would all make a lot of sense. If the winner of this war was who would proceed to become "the heavenly principles", who has also been thought to be the first descender and has said to have been the one fighting the seven sovereigns, primordial one and it being one and the same seems to check out.
It has 4 shades, so in total there would be 5, with istaroth being one of them and phanes either being the primordial one itself as surmised by before sun and moon or a shade. So, 5 + the current 7 archons = 12.
Phanes is the god of light, and istaroth is the god of time. Suppose that sustainer of the heavenly principles is one of the shades as well, the powers she was seen wielding that trapped and separated the traveler could be space. However, if we're to go by appearance, she looks like Hi3's Kiana Kaslana in her Herrscher of Void form, so there's that. All in all, already 3 out of 5.
As cosmos also has meaning of to order and to establish, or even to prepare and to set in array, it could be the primordial one itself (if it's not phanes).
Really compelling theory! Thanks for the video. 😊
So, if we're going by the theory that artifact sets represent the five extra elements, what would each of the five elements you talked about correspond to? Time would clearly correspond to the Sands of Eon, and Space would correspond to the Goblet of Eonothem.
I'm assuming the Flower of Life would correspond to whatever Khaenriah's element is, as it has 1) the flower motif, and 2) Rhinedottir was all about creating life, Albedo/Calx/chalk the substrate of life yadayadayada. Some Khaenriahns were also cursed with immortality, making it an ironic twist on people who were able to create life (which also seems to kinda mirror what happens to their flowers). If we associate it with the Cosmo elemnt you mentioned, it's neat to mention that there is a cientific theory that life of Earth was not originated on Earth, but rather on a different planet. The idea is that the most basic forms of life were created in that planet, which was later hit by a meteorite and chunks of it were sent out flying through space in the form of asteroids, one of which eventually reached Earth. And while it's not a very well supported theory (mostly because of how convoluted it is), it does fit the Traveler's lore of their planet likely being destroyed and them later arriving at Teyvat.
As for the Mask of Logos and the Plume of Death... I honestly have no clue.
i just thought of something, because i remember watching an anime in the 2nd season (SAO btw) there was this guy who wanted to, ig in this case go to 'celestia'. but when he found out how to get to it, he like found out that there was no way to get up, it was blocked by ig "celestia". i guess its just a thought, since i watched your other video and you mentioned, i forgot the actual term, but it was saying there was like layers? like celestia is on the top, teyvat is in the middle and the abyss is at the bottom. like what if the 'ladder' to celestia was just something that happens when celestia find worth in someone and wants to keep them prisoner to, ig stop them from evolve faster, to prevent the same thing that happend with khaenriah. its just a thought that passed by my mind :P
Their are 13 elements in genshin
Anemo
Geo
Electro
Dendro
Hydro
Pyro
Cryo
The 4 elements of the heavenly principles/Primordial one
Life
Death
Space
Time
The 2 central elementa
Light
Darkness/Abyss
Light is just ether while Void abyss
I have predicted the other 5 elements missing, i only missed 1 which is cosmo. I have Force instead as the element of natural forces (Magnetism, Gravity, basically Push and Pull)
idk if this would work, but Spacial could be categorized as Astro haha
also, I love that Canon in D is playing in the background
Chill with aster : explained a very detailed reason as to why these "new" element exist
Me : METALO
I truly hope mihoyo add new elements and weapons after the end of Teyvat Chapter which is the first chapter and especially with Celestia gods being capable of wielding stronger elements than the 7 we currently have and also the lore said there are other elements outside teyvat like the darkness element the dragon lord used in the war against celestia
I wanted to sleep but no, this pop up now I gotta watch it.
This video hurts my head.
But on another note, it was quite interesting to learn that the current elements might be more impure versions of the original ones! I always thought them to be one and the same, but I guess not. Really something to think about.
Cosmo could be the art of khemia (science) pushed to the limits.
Dimensional manipulation, knowledge of the universe and so on
i feel abyss/void isnt quantum. i m more leaning towards
light = imaginary
cosmo = quantum
time/space/void/all seven elements are just facets of Honkai. because we know the finality splits off into minor authorities of things like fire/earth/void/ice. just like how a prism reflects countless colors.
Theory: We have only been exploring regions of teyvat, and as it is referred that lumine and aether travel from world to world, it is possible that teyvat is only a chapter of the entire game.
Can you truly consider the dragons as truly pure as if they were only their primal element , they would be conscious or have the semblance of a physical form as a dragon as they would simply be the element and just that.
When you talk about the elements introduced, what I see is a new introduced layer of reality some type of particle which when mixed with the primal element changes it to be turned into that specific element, just like a template to make a specific item.
It will make the process faster but it will make it wraker to some extent
I was think about it today. As you gave the example of hydro and water, Dendro and nature/earth are completely different. All Dendro powers are like holographic, none of them is an actual plant, Nahida and Tighanari has something related to nature because they in particularly have a connection with nature.
that manga panel of cyno on the thumbnail is 🔥🔥🔥
Dendro is the only elemant coming diract from irminsoul and cuz of historica antiqua II i am not shur if irminsoul was there or came with Po
One of my theories for Tsaritsa/Bronya agrees with your theory about her likely building a weapon. But… I don’t think it’s going to go the way people are thinking at all.
I think the Tsaritsa knows that Tevat wouldn’t stand a chance going head to head against who/whatever is currently occupying Celestia.
So my theory…. She’s assembling all the Gnosis into a weapon that will blow a massive hole in fake sky. Tevat isn’t a prison, therefore one can safely conclude that the walls were erected to keep something out. Not to keep something in.
When she blows open the fake sky it will unleash chaos and give her team the opportunity to gain the upper hand and take control away from “Team Celestia”
I have no idea what’s outside but using the books allegorically one can assume there’s monsters out there and Tevat is well hidden because, if I’m applying the stories correctly, it resides in a dark dark corner of the universe where the sun has been extinguished. According to Ike it would be no problem for him to reignite the sun but doing so would be to shine a spotlight on themselves and put them all in danger.
If the “Second Throne” is the Sky People, as I’ve speculated, then they’re going to run fast and far as soon as they’ve been discovered. They’ve got a date with their destiny and they have been running like cowards all across the universes.
Just a theory 🤷🏻♂️
I believe this theory also explains why the Lay Lines are in disorder. It’s on purpose.
The entity that calls itself “The Will” uses Irmunsol to travel to the different universes. I think Celestia is actively preventing that from happening by keeping the Lay Lines in disarray.
It also would explain the Nails. They’re plugging up potential openings for “The Will” to enter Tevat.
I also believe this explains why Celestia prevented the Travelers from continuing their world hopping adventures. When they opened the door to leave it would have also been opening the door for something to enter. That’s why Susty put a stop to that.
Simply put, I think the Second Throne is using Tevat as a hiding spot. And Tsaritsa’s plan is to ruin their hiding spot so they pack up and leave
Hmmm maybe when they bring the other elements they put them in one category and maybe call it the outer elements since I don’t think there will be visions with those elements
Hoo boy, can't wait to collect all of the Chronoculi, Haloculi and Cosmoculi...
That bgm...
I love you Kiana.
I still think about the black flame Collei used in webcomic, she was injected with archon residue and could talk (somewhat) with the consciousness of that thing.
Could it be an element that was lost during the archon war or was it like branch of pyro?🤔🤔
I feel like it will be an inevitability to introduce new elements to this game. I wonder how exactly they'd make new elements interact with the world. When it came to Dendro, they found a specific direction and went with it in terms of both lore and gameplay. Would also be interesting to see if we'd have a whole new set of elemental reactions specifically for them too (I know some games like to put light and dark in their own web of RPS where they counter each other for example).
Just a few notes though:
1) I'm pretty sure the pronunciation of Ether is the same as Aether since they are the same word or at least ether is derived from aether.
2) Since the elements' names are derived from Greek, I'd say the light element could be called Phospho. Though idk if that looks cool enough. My second favorite take on this would be the Latin word for light, Lux, but with an -o so Luxo (pronounced luke-soh). It also being derived from a different language as the others would denote how different it would be compared to our seven "basic" elements."
3) When it comes to space, they could take some liberties in describing how it is. So instead of space, they might refer to the stars and the Greek root for the word does also end in an O: Astro. Though I feel like this would be a stretch even for their standards.
4) The element of the Abyss might already have its name mentioned, though with a different root in Latin. Abyssosque is the Latin word for Abyss, and its Greek root counterpart is Abysso. And yes, I thought of these last two points because of the Adventurer Guild's (or rather Katheryne's) catchphrase.
Just a bit of rambling here from me though.
Luxo would be a strange one and I don't think it would imployed in such a case. Luxo isn't part of any declinaison form that lux can take form of. Also, minor note, Katheryne says "Ad astra abyssosque", abyssosque is not a word. Abyssos is the word as "que" is a conjunction between two words translating as "and"
@@yukishiro3287 I never said Luxo was an actual word or form of the word Lux. I just added an O to the end of it to fit with the naming conventions of the other elements.
I must've made a typo on the Abyss one cause I remember seeing the root being Abyssus/Abyssos. Guess I was just getting ahead of myself there.
@@JAMllostthegame Oh. Right. But it would still sound weird imo ^^; as of abyssosque, you just remove "que" to have the word. "Astra" and "abyssos" are in ablatif (for which "abyssos" original form is abyssus) due to preposition "ad", which means towards. I don't think that was a typo
While watching this, a sumeru quest made me "water" a plant with HYDRO.
i doubt that even if these were all canon, that most of them would be playable, just because their colours are too similar to existing playable elements.
light is too similar to geo, void is exactly the same colour as electro sometimes (and even hydro in the case of mona)
space kinda works since there's not a red element (pyro is orange not red), but it still feels like a stretch, right?
Theory
Khanreiah-Light(Traveler)
Abyss-Dark(Dansleif)
Celestia-Omni(Paimon)
“Please don’t hurt me I am really short” 😭😭 LOOOL
Dendro
Pyro
Cryo
Hydro
Geo
Electro
Anemo
Cosmo
Chrono
Halo
Necro
Spatio?
The time element blue schematics remind me of the invisible walls in the sumeru desert and enkanomiya
Hoyoverse: here's dendro finally guys
Also Hoyoverse: here's also lore about 156819 other elements
[This comment is not originally mine, I saw a similar comment in the comment section, please don't attack me for 'copying' it]
The Imaginary and Quantum elements shown in HSR and HI3 are yet to be shown in Genshin, so maybe Imaginary is Dain's element, since he can basically control it freely at will and even make ropes that bound that Abyss Herald in the We will be reunited quest? And Quantum may be Void, because it looks so similar? Honkai and Genshin are supposed to be connected, and there are many theories that Genshin is the result of project Ark from Honkai. So maybe the elements are still there, but in different states? And there's also Biologic and Psychic elements (I'm assuming Mech would be physical damage), with Biologic maybe being space and Psychic being an alternative for Void/Cosmo.
I think void and light elemants are equevalant to quantum and imagenary
Now hear me out i dare say that ambysmal is not void
I am still confused on what dendro actually is, other elements like cryo and pyro are hinted to be: Cryo is cooling, literal definiton, pyro is heating (probably) but the 2 ones i am confused about are dendro and geo which still make no sense for me.
It's oot but the more I look at the Enkanomiya and the map of Teyvat, the more I am convinced that sure that one day, traveller will bring the enkanomiya up to the surface of Teyvat and it will be located between Inazuma and Guyun Stone Forest.
I would love for Light and Darkness to be added as playable Elements (Time and Space would likely break the game beyond repair). However, is does appear like Light has a more benevolent nature while Darkness (Abyss) appears to have a malevolent nature. I doubt that our Traveler (mine is Aether) will use Darkness. It would likely corrupt him. Darkness has potential to be fun to play with but it's unlikely.
But, for the sake of fun; let's say it were to happen (let's say the Traveler finds a balance with both Light and Darkness). If it were to happen; there would need to be other playable characters made to make the Elements fit in. As well as enemies and locations. 2 whole new (new to us anyway) Nations could be formed. Imagine playing as a Light Catalyst wielder or a Darkness Claymore wielder.
While I think it would be cool; it is very unlikely.
The names of the elements are actually based on Greek roots. So light would be "photo."
For void/darkness, there's nycto, scoto, or melano. For spaces, there's choros or topos.
Void has a name in Greek tho …it’s Chaos …but Chao sounds too funny 😂
I think a better way to describe the space element would be matter manipulation
Very well done, while I am cosmo light/void, Celtea is spacial, yae is eternal and the last is solar. Dains arm may be less of a form of power and an infusion. As my left arm is an agarthium vibration peice made of stone like material.
The spiritual is complex and the Belmonts had a basement full of stuff... sorry probably sounds like fan fiction. Could be keeping him in form.
Oh I should mention light is intertwined with darkness so it fits into darkness as the base format for our universe with nothing is pure dark. Light cuts through its space and time and creates a defined space, as such light is just the chalk on a blackboard ;)
@@iColm in simpler terms you're talking about imaginary and quantum rivalry right? But the thing is, universe is made of both IMG and Quantum. So neither of them oppose the other. IMG is more like the non tangible part of the universe such as it's laws, time, reality, etc
I have a theory on the "Astro" element, the star element, and that Paimon is the possible Astro Archon.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention quantum or Imaginary which are both in honkai and genshin exists within the same multiverse of
Photo woule be a good name for the light element! I personslly call the void element Abysso.
And then there's my all time favorite element, salt
I think the unknown goddess is corrupted. She has a lot of Geo esque elements, but it’s darkened. We learn that darkened could mean corrupt. What if that’s the case? What if she’s been corrupted?
What about the element of surprise, which has me losing out on the limited banners & upgrading the wrong stats in artifact rolls.
We will get the abyssal element by interacting with 1 of 7 statue of the 7 like things in khaenri'ah
Nice
What a nice music, what's the title ?
conquest, are u there in all 3 days?
The archons aren't originally from Celestia tho, and the light element could be the element of the primordial one, or it could be the combination of all the elements
