I'm not a SEAL. Retired USN. Spent my last 5 years at NAB Coronado. Walked by this course hundreds of times. My stomach got nervous just looking at it. And yeah, most of the poor bastards that did this were cold,, sleep-deprived, and sand-chafed. Godspeed to all of them.

These obstacle set ups are always about 20 times more difficult than they look when you actually have to do it, and thats on a nice warm day when you’re fully prepped for it. Dont think I could have made the cut on this in all reality.

I had the privilege of running the course in January of this year. Successfully managed all the obstacles but definitely found "the weaver" the most challenging. Doing this course on a weekly basis you can definitely master it and get better each time. Sand Runs must be killer I imagine. God bless all those that go to BUDs.

We would run (AKA BUD's shuffle) to the galley at NAB and back three times a day, adding up to many extra miles each day. Even in Indoc, a lot of my buddies got stress fractures from all the pounding on the pavement. We also spent a lot of time in the combat simmer tank on the amphibia side or finding good places to hide from the instructors to get a few minute's sleep.
It's been 20 years since I was there, but from the look of this video, the O-course has not changed too much besides the fence. Prior to 9/11 you could just walk into almost any part of NSW side. 9/11 changed everything though.
      What years were you there?

You used to but since everybody and their dog wants to go NSW now you can't. But you can go SF no problem over 30. It's up to you if you want to cry about not getting seal or just go SF.
