  • INKBIRD ITC-308 Temperature Controller: Unboxing, Overview, and Easy Configuration
    How to configure an INKBIRD ITC-308 included in this video.
    The goto in temperature control for homebrewing as it is an amazing product for things like temperature control for fermentation and keezers! It can, of course, be used for many other things where temperature control is needed through cooling, heating, or both.
    I've personally been using INKBIRD temperature controllers for years.

    Buy them while they are on sale! Eventually, I will be doing a giveaway for 3 of the 4 INKBIRDs that INKBIRD sent me, so keep watching for that video to post, probably in October.

    Just wanted to share that the website for inkbird states they are dual voltage 120/220 and I can confirm that! The US spec version works on 220v as well, here in Europe just needs a plug adapter.

    Convinced me - for my bronchitis breathing heater - I'm good with single channel and something simpler. Big thumbs-up!

      It is a great bang for the buck. I'm sorry you have to deal with Bronchitis as I feel difficulty breathing is one of the worst feelings. If I get around a person smoking or air pollution, it triggers my heart arrhythmias which can last minutes to days. I could never live somewhere like NY City as I visited a few years back and my heart was all over the place the entire time I was there.

      @@BitterRealityBrewing Apparently my suggestion was deleted. I'm sorry too, but you should find the video on long term metal accumulation and EDTA that reminds us that little bits of conductive stuff causes short-circuits all the time. Makes sense? BEST~!

    I have a 308 running my fermentation fridge - it is the bomb diddly. Uber reliable. I have a different inkbird device running my keezer - I'm on the third one in 5 years...Yes, I have considered adapting a 308 to the keezer...it's a little more "robust". Love to fiddle with a WiFi unit.

      Yep, I have 2 ITC-1000, 1 STC-1000, IBS-M1, Inkbird infrared point & shoot, and a ton of the ITC-308 (wifi and non-wifi). I'm slowly migrating to the wifi versions and considering a newer IBS-M2 to monitor all my temps. (I monitor my keezer, beer fridges, and freezers as I've had issues in the past and the early alert is a life saver.)

      @@BitterRealityBrewing - know what you mean...last time my keezer's ITC-1000 decided to start making beer pops...so, I got to experience ice bock and it was delicious. Dangerously delicious. 😁

    I just bought another one today because they're 20% off on Amazon. I bought the wifi one. Shout out to CH from HB4L for letting us know.

      They go on sale often, which is when I usually grab one as needed (I can't afford to buy them all at once, and the sales help), but I'm right there with you. I have been slowly migrating to the WIFI versions for convenience. I would have mentioned the sale but didn't know if it would be different from the regular deal they run from time to time. I saw INKBIRD had reached out to CH too as he posted at midnight. I was too busy fixing my computer till 1 AM as Windows decided it had issues. Thanks for the reminder as I need to jump on CH's video and give him a thumbs up and a comment.

    Great controllers. The wifi models are definitely worth the few extra dollars

      I'm slowly migrating to the WiFi versions just for the convenience factor.

    I purchased 2 upright freezers, i wanted to turn one into a fridge. Bought two of these set just like he said, both worked for 2-3 weeks then all of a sudden they stopped cutting the power on the cold side when it went below 32. The little light goes on and off correctly but the freezer keeps running and everything freezes. Of course the alarm goes off if you set it. What am i doing wrong.

    Can we use this 308 model in a big room brooder or poultry room where we rear chicks? I hope you understand my question.!! And only one function will work at a time like when cooler is on then heater is off.?
    I'm from a hotter region where summers last till November so is this model suitable or 306 will work too??

    • @BitterRealityBrewing
      @BitterRealityBrewing  Před 5 měsíci +1

      I don't see why not, but If you are running multiple heaters in different parts, I would consider several. My only concern is if any pull considerable amps, it might not handle that. I would check the amp rating before buying one.

    2:10 you won't get precise temp control with an on off control, that would be a pid temp controller.

    • @BitterRealityBrewing
      @BitterRealityBrewing  Před 6 měsíci

      Agreed but it will usually either be dead on or very close, if it doesn't need to be adjusted due to a calibration being off. I used the word directly from INKBIRD, and really wasn't considering a PID controller, although I've seen a few of those that needed to be corrected too.
