    Finally, an operational video showing how it mechanically works!!! Thank you!

    First time in my life I’ve seen an animated demo which explains exactly how the impulse coupling works... 🙋‍♂️

    Is there a special tool or trick to installing the drive gear on a 4371 mag ? When you try tighten the nut impulse rotates even when holding gear. Is there a proper way to do this ? Thanks. Great video

    Excellent video and graphic. This is the first time I understood how the impulse coupling works. The A&P maintenance videos and textbook designers should gave developed something like this instead of duplicating the decades old pictures and illustrations that show nothing of any value. Compliments to your graphic specialist and support team.

      Odd, it was rather straightforward when I went through only twenty years ago.
      It also helped that my bozo classmate spun his mag up in hand when I asked if his mags were hot.
      Impulse coupling snapped, and he had two fingers across the P lead and his thumb over cylinder one. Short-Round sat down in a fog.

    Nice animation. Good explanation. BUT! How are the fly weights held 'tucked-in' while the engine is running? Thanks

    • @mikkeljacobsen1152
      @mikkeljacobsen1152 Před rokem

      With centrifugal force

    • @90FF1
      @90FF1 Před rokem

      @@mikkeljacobsen1152 Thanks for your reply. I'll have to take another look. This conflicts with my understanding of fly weights under the influence of centrifugal force.

    • @mikkeljacobsen1152
      @mikkeljacobsen1152 Před rokem

      @@90FF1 The flyweight is held out by a spring during engine starting. After engine starting the flyweight gets tucked in by centrifugal forces due to the center of gravity located behind the pivot point of the flyweight.
      I would have linked a diagram but youtube wont let me.

    I have a question
    If an altimeter setting is not available, the pilot can set the altimeter to the airport's field elevation before takeoff. is this true?

    Please check out " Magneto Tutorial | Magneto Part 1 " here: czcams.com/video/9JnI8oN4h8I/video.html This tutorial kinda assumes you watched part 1 first. I hope you enjoy this. I tried to make this one as quick as possible, no filler.

    Why impuls coupling not active when run engine??

    • @PilotEffect
      @PilotEffect  Před 2 lety

      because its already at a high rpm, so its not required, just required at low rpm during engine start
