The Grand Designs' episode will make you appreciate the amount of sweat and hard work that went into the making this masterpiece. I mean the way that bathtub was put together only was just unbelievable.

OK. This is a house worth featuring. All the right details, materials, and overall feel are working well together. Nice variety of exterior surfaces and textures. Fun, playful furnishings including a floating, sculptural fireplace. Love that it's perched on stilts.

The fireplace was epic. The bedroom was perfect from the view point, you have front view and side view and sky view too. Very well design.

I’d have done the window framing at the bed differently, other than that, it is pretty much perfect. Also, refreshing to have a architecture channel with an actual presenter, who is both beautiful and cheerful and knows what she is talking about!

I love it except for the fireplace. And I hope they can drag that bed out to make it otherwise that would be a pain. What a view though.
Super! But would prefer a balcony/deck on the view side, or a roof deck. Get the toilet out of the shower. Need a full-size fridge and some more storage to make it a permanent home for me. Would also orient the bed so you could get on both sides. Maybe hang some curtains to close it off. Beautiful!

I love the front patio with the outdoor tub, but damn that whole part should've been placed on the other side of the pod in view of the water

Lucy good choice - love that creativity . Noticed that the black texture is too much used in australian house interior design even though there is strong sun light - does that increase the heat inside house
In terms of the cladding the black tones are more aesthetic however they will trap more heat. So glad you enjoyed this one, thanks for watching!

Yes, that tub was hand carved out of a solid block of morning wood
It was a pleasure to visit to see how it has settled into its surroundings!
The tub was made out of very small equal pieces of wood, glued together by hand and stacked to a shaped and then, a robot arm trimmed
It down to a precise shape. Saw the episode on how it was made - Amazing effort , time and, talent 💛
It’s nicely laid out but so dark.
The light actually changed a lot during our time there, it really is part of nature. There was wonderful natural light throughout

Is this made from shipping containers?
I like it a lot, but a few things bothered me.
One, that shelf behind the bed is guaranteed to make you hit your head everytime. Not comfortable at all as you cannot sit up without leaning against a shelf.
Secondly, I feel the placement of the fire is too restrictive and too imposing. I personally would have put it further to the left nearer the second seating bench so that if you had guests around you could all benefit from the heat from the fire. Then you would have an area for another sofa facing that view with uninterrupted views especially during the summer months when the fire was not in use. I think the current fire is way too heavy and imposing and distracts from the fabulous view.
Maybe an idea might be to place some lockable castors on the current sofa so it can be moved around easily?
Exactly my thoughts....I also think that unless the kitchen has some kinda recessed lighting it is just too aesthetic to be actually functional
My thoughts exactly. But the shelf above the bed also makes it difficult to sit up and read a book.

Please put the camera between the talent/object being shot and the light source. Do not shoot into the light. Or, open up the iris of the camera so that the darker area is visible. Thanks!

Gorgeous home... hideous fireplace. Saw this on Grand Design... Honestly to each their own and totally thhe homeowners choice but that place deserved better than that fireplace lol.
I was more bothered by the position of the fire place than the fireplace itself. It really needs to be in the corner near the record player rather than blocking the view.

Love everything except the shelves behind the bedhead and the placement of the fireplace. For me it seriously detracts from the view and from seeing this on grand designs I know the heat output is minimal.
Sometimes I feel like you got into this house touring business to drink other people's water.
