Mighty Morphin Serpentera/ Daijinryu First Appearance Split Screen (PR and Sentai version)

A long video deserves to the largest Zord/ Mecha of it's class. Its Serpentera/ Daijinryu (Great Dragon God). For those who don't know what Serpentera is it's basicly a big Zord created by Lord Zed who is piloted by Goldar and Lord Zed. For Daijinryu it is a Giant Dragon God that is sent forth to those that are a destruction of man kind and is around to keep balance to the universe. It is not piloted by anyone and destroys anyone good or evil.
Wanted to show case this because I know in MMPR there was plenty of things in Serpentera's appearance that made very little sense so yes show Daijinryu too to clean that up. And yes MMPR S2 did clip a bit from Dairanger and recycled a lot of footage from the Dairanger episode but what do you expect? I clipped a few bits from MMPR to focus solely on Serpentera and not the other things going on in this episode. I didn't expect to use a who lot from Dairanger episode to show Daijinryu but when your a Dragon God reining terror and play an important role in Dairanger yeah you need lots of air time.

In that case, instead of creating, kidnapping and daijinryu is under Zedd's control and named serpentera.

I can see why some users here prefer how Dairanger presented this plot point than in Mighty Morpin. Daijinryu is treated as a real threat compared to how Serpentera is just Zedd’s big toy that runs out of batteries.

I was deeply terrified when DaiJinRyuu showed up. Especially the way it demands the two groups to stop with their fighting.
Serpentera was plenty menacing, but Daijinryu was set up more like a force of nature than a character. There is no way to defeat him, all you can do is run, hide, and if does show up, hope that he leaves. Plus his entrance does cause a big impact despite his limited screen time.
Looking at the moment where Serpentera blasts a building you can actually see a brief shot of the Thunder Megazord.
Serpentera had power problems..thanks to Tor, drained most of the dragons energy overtime he tried to smash Tor to pieces...👉🏻 and you are correct there was no stopping Daijinryu!...only way to keep him at bay was if Earth would stop fighting.
@@willwozniak2826 That was the annoying part of making the robot into a weapon of the villains, the show needed to come up with reasons why Zedd couldn't kill the Rangers with it.
After watching Dairanger I realized the show used the same footage of Serpentera almost crushing Tor. That was already used before but I guess the creators felt like "Hey this episode's plot in Dairanger had Daijinryu approaching so we will also do it." Which meant needing to come up with another excuse with Tor someone draining its power.
@@dragonstormx I agree. Damiguen would have been crushed to death if that truce wasnt agreed to while his foot was basically killing Damiugen...,I didnt like it myself when they made the Great Dragon God Lord Zedds Zord.....🤬

The more I think the more upset I get that Daijinryu never got American treatment . Those outfits are badass
The Gohma Emperor creeps me out more as a adult then Lord Zedd ever did to me as a child.

Shadam: I'm good with that. At least Foxatron took after Serpentera but improved on it.

Well in there Daijinryu actually served a purpose. Serpentera felt it was just there because of the footage in the source material, and of course for merchandise.

When I first saw Serpentera I was terrified and amazed at the same time. Godzilla needed to be in that episode!
That would be cool to see. Keep in mind that Serpentera is 300 meters (1,640 ft) tall. However, I think that Serpentera would either crush or incinerate nearly every Godzilla version except for two. First, Burning Godzilla, right before meltdown would give Serpentera quite a beating, or at least try too, as that Godzilla is at planet destroying energy levels, which approaches Serpentera's full power but is still not equal to. If that Godzilla melts or explodes, then the earth and, possibly, Serpentera, would be easily destroyed. Secondly, Godzilla Earth would have the best chance of standing up to. Also, even though Godzilla Earth is 300 meters (984 ft) tall, Serpentera still towers over him. Despite the size difference, I would be interested to see a duel between Godzilla Earth and Serpentera.

From a massive zord created to destroy a planet to keep the peace of the universe to a villain's personal zord who destroyed an entire but abandoned planet.
What a plot twist.
Also, a twist from a mecha god dragon that only appears against them and no one else to a mecha dragon that has its power drained by a foot-sized turtle by fighting it in the exact same failure of a way it did a week earlier.

I remember seeing serpentera 4 the 1st time & being scared cus the screen turned red & evil was ruling, when it stomped on the turtle I peeked outside wondering if it was coming straight 4 my town, since mountains surround it, like when the thunder zords R called upon....
What's strange is Tor is never seen turning around to face the enemy as he transforms. Same for Delta Command Megazord. This means they're either skipping those scenes or the zords always face away from them.
Daijinryu (Great Dragon God) was awesome, he gave real stakes to the war against the Gorma. Serpentera on the other hand was lame, if Power Rangers wasn't going to adapt Great Dragon God as he was presented in Dairanger, they should have left him out it's not like Zedd needed a zord.

@@Prince_Eva_Huepow Pretty much, I remember when I was a kid watching power rangers, I remember every time Serpentera was part of the episode I was so bored because it's literally the same scenes over and over.
Man, Dairanger music for Daijinryu entrance capture what's its like to see a gigantic godlike being just all of a sudden arrived on Earth without any warning. Not too mention, the suspense building up is just great, his foreshadowing behind the moon shadow. Daijinryu is and are literally, a universal force of nature that act like a warning and the fact that his arrival forces a ceasefire between the Protagonist and Villain side speaks volume to his immense divine power. I felt actual fear when he appear unlike with Serpentera whose was a waste. If anything I wish, Serpentera should have been the ultimate final boss instead that would have been a great finale.
I can imagine this version showing say Avenger Infinity War, Miraculous Ladybug, Kraken Teenager, ETC.
How did the Power Ranger tech team change the hues from dark blue to a dusty orange-red? I’d love to know.

I mean, in Gosei Sentai Dairangers the dragon is actually a huge plot-point...whereas in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers it's just Lord Zedd's travelzord.
Why is the Japanese version louder than the American version?
And years later in power rangers, serpentera is destroyed by Cole Evans, the Red Wild Force Ranger
I always believe that it's mainly due to how serpentera wasn't at full power. It did have poor power efficiency.

Nice job on the comparisons....Daijinryu was unbeatable.....i been catching up on the Japanese counter part and its pretty darn good....MMPR season 2 should have kept on track and follwed this formula....shame.
Why did Daijnry wait until now to show up? When the bando-queen was first released she killed thousands of people in downtown Tokyo. Why didn't he/she/it show up to stop her or do anything to stop the violent world wars and genocides?
Probably because the humans were capable of fighting her themselves. No need to get involved if you aren't needed.

Are you talking about things that happen outside of Dairanger? The series are usually depicted as the same universe but each individual series is still supposed to be taken as its own thing.

Considering that in Dairanger it was ready to make thousands of people kill themselves it's no wonder Saban made it an evil Zord.
Daijinryu: Peaceful/vengeful dragon god that maintains peace even through violence. Not something you are capable of fighting against.
Serpentera: Largest dragonzord and one of the few largest PR bosses in existence that is however weak the plot demands it is. Going as far as to have a knock-off zord-sized version without proper scaling while also being somewhere other than where it actually was.
