Had to put my dog down yesterday. My best friend of 14 years. Just been drinkin’ and cryin’ and listening to this record. Trying to see this sadness as a gift.
Sorry to hear about your loss. I had to put my dog down recently. "Sadness as a Gift" and Mia Dyson's "Thank You" are two songs helping me to cope with the loss of my best friend.
This song straight destroyed me. It's been five months since I put mine down. She was only 8, and it felt so sudden. I still blame myself.
Coming up in my one year anniversary of having to do the same. I’m sorry, it’s rough.

I’m 28 and feel a little lost. This song was a gift to me as I sat on my back deck listening to it, watching the moon slowly disappear behind the tall maple tree in my backyard

I listen to a lot of sad music, it's kind of my whole thing. But it's still really rare that a song will make me cry just hearing it. This has to be a contender for the actual saddest song I've ever heard. 10/10

When people refer to “an amazing lyric”- they are referring to songs like this. This has a stream of consciousness feel that just didn’t feel forced in the slightest way. It was effortless like recalling a vivid memory.
