    Moe Abon, Just because they kill turtle they are not educated?why?...Is it because you went to college and learn about which animal should be illegal to kill?...Everywhere in the world they're killing animals, it just happened that these people kill turtle, it's their ceremonial food, special feast, unlike people killing cows, chicken and any other animal every day for money...I know for a fact that even in the Marshall islands they kill and eat turtle...I'm glad that these people are more educated in preserving their culture. Make it illegal in the Marshall Islands and let us preserve our culture living freely with NATURE...

    • @BonjoMaddisonWonne
      @BonjoMaddisonWonne Před 6 lety +4

      Its traditional, they do that everywhere in the Pacific. Pacific Islanders eat turtles and they boil the eggs ONLY in special ceremonys.

      Nolas Kaliga I’m from the Marshall Islands and turtle is served to and from our chiefs! It’s our tradition food! Hawaiians are such pegans for keeping them sacred!

      In Hawaii beaches lots of yummy turtles but they're belong to government..back home we make feast with High chief n villagers proud to be Micronesian Marshall Islands

    • @islandguy6928
      @islandguy6928 Před 4 lety +1

      Yes we do eat turtles in Marshall.However it's exclusively reserved for the chiefs not for everyone.Whereas Chuuk having a history of fractured leadership almost anyone can eat the creatures.Marshall is the only one in the Micronesian Region that restrict its people from killing nor eating them.In our ancient religion a Turtle symbolizes a Goddess of sea life.They were highly revered.Filled with "Ao"(Mana version of Micronesia) the chief considered them holy thus only they not anyone else can feast on them.

    okay! where I come from, men usually are the one doing the pounding. this is kind of exciting because women are the one doing it. I think that's cheating, why are you giving them the hard work? Why can men do it? To be honest I try it myself and that's how I know it is a hard work for women..

    The sad thing is that they're not educated enough about killing the turtles. I'm from The Republic of the Marshall Islands and I won't recommend anyone to do such thing like that. Killing turtles in the FSM should be illegal.

    • @islander31
      @islander31 Před 7 lety +7

      I've heard that they have cultural rules in getting these turtles: Mainly used for ceremonial or important events and it has to be a certain size of the turtles. This way, the turtle population remains. This is to say that they know what they are doing. Personally, however, I say leave the turtles alone.
