Here we go again with the "endangered species " and guilty " Turtles are food in the pacific islands, turtles are tradition source of food fishermans catch and feed the villagers, its a way of custom tradition still passed on till today and they too seasons nowadays to accustom the system of marine lifes preserving turtle species to produce, not all the time they go out and catch turtles, by seasons. I missed Eating turtles I prefer over steaks and tbones!
Kaduh nan sele, kompare kompare iou douluhl!! yummmmeeee! you dip it in hot local chili sauce, eat it with breadfruit, taro and banana (um) wash it down with coconut milk then walk over to the hammock after you're full, jump in it and watch the sunset..... paradise!
Im Micronesian myself & this is not fully true. These people come to see our people eat it so they do it. We do not eat it on a regular daily basis. It is only reserved for important people in our culture. If a chief frm another island comes to visit my island or village then we catch a turtle to serve that chief & his entourage. There is a certain part of a turtle that is ONLY reserved for chiefs to consume that is why its sacred.
You guys need to come Wotje or Likiep in the Marshalls Islands and they’ll show you how to properly prepare and cook the sea turtle in a underground um.
It was hard seeing them drag the turtle alive...! It's like someone pulling you by broken arms. 😢 there flippers are not supposed to be bent to that degree in the wrong direction.

3:00 I'm glad that their grandfathers and this current generation stopped worshiping turtles as gods because of the spread of Christianity BUT eating Turtles is still forbidden in Gods word. Leviticus 11:9, 12, “These you may eat of all that are in the water: whatever in the water has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers-that you may eat...Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales-that shall be an abomination to you.” Since (sea)turtles don't have any fins and scales it is in Gods eyes an abomination to eat it. I hope that someone on that Island opens up the Bible and read the book of Leviticus to understand what you can and cannot eat. Don't worry God won't condemn you if you didn't know aka you was "ignored" "And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent" Acts 17:30. So stop "repent" with eating unclean creatures. Or be a vegetarian just like Adam and Eve was in the book of Genesis. God gave humans a diet of fruit and nuts not meat😊

Not because God needed to do that.. He wanted to do that because He created us and loves us more than any parent loves their child. So that we can have peace with God again so that it can be as if Adam and Eve never broke the rules.
