      Pls don't overwter or underwater it will not die but the leaves will yellow. But will grow back to normal if u take a good care. Ficus bonsai are good strong plant and can resist purning, trimming and wiring. Quite of often

    My ficus is tried into a canopy shape and thetrunk is like a women's torso, that's what attracted it to me. It's very healthy. It has a few Ariel roots which I leave alone. It does get 3 or 4 hours a day. I live in Florida and it faces the east .

    How much you water a tree, or any plant really, is directly related to how much sun it is getting, humidity, root structure, the soil medium's water retention, the amount of photosynthetically active leaves on the plant and the species. It's a very variable thing... But it all just comes down to how much water transpiration is occurring from the roots and up through the leaves.

    Full sun will burn your leaves and it needs watered everyday if its in the heat. Don't let this tree dry out you guys! I've had these since I was 8yrs old n I have never killed mine! In the winter I grow mine under lights.

      It will not burn the leaves during the winter if you live in northern latitudes. In fact, southern exposure is a must in Ma in the winter. I even supplement with grow lights after the sun sets. I like this video because she makes clear that you need to take your particular environment into account. No direct light is not universally helpful advice.

    I've seen a lot of conflicting information about the watering of these. Some say it has to be damp at all times, don't let it dry out. Others say it should be watered once a week. Or once every two weeks and use a spray plant food in between.
    Some say to avoid direct sunlight, others say to keep it in direct sunlight.
    I'd like to get one and I'm a novice in plant care, but it's confusing.

    I recently just got one it was labeled ‘bonsai’ but I’m almost certain that’s it’s a ginseng ficus but anyway- I’ve noticed that on the leaves there’s white spots/powder. I use to spray them with a bottle so I thought that’s what caused it but I haven’t sprayed them and the white spot/ powder is still there. Should I be worried about this?

    • @AnnasViolets
      @AnnasViolets  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey Elide, yes, sometimes they are called bonsai, because you can also grow them as bonsai, but it's a variety of Ficus. If there is powder, it can be fungus, but ficuses sometimes have white dots on the leaves, it's their natural pattern
