She just keeps getting better and better. I remember people were worried how her voice would mature as she got older, but she's such a better vocalist now. She can still do what she used to do, but now she has so many different styles and nuances in the way she sings, and she also uses her voice as an instrument more than ever. And she just switches stuff up on the fly, like it's no big deal, and it always sounds great.
I don't think "Runaway" is going anywhere anytime soon, at least for full concerts, so I don't think you have anything to worry about. You're probably not getting "Lucky," though.
@@Dave-hb7lx She seems very excited about promoting and performing this album, so I think it will more than that. Of course, she'll probably change it up fairly often too, to get to more songs on the album.

I really like the X Nature remix which was released a few weeks before the album. I love the album version differently - they each have elements the other doesn't. And now this VEVO version adds a third experience of the same song. And I love it too. Each version brings something to the song. The winner? The song!
We are all the winners because we get three versions of a great song! I loved the Nature remix so much I was afraid I wasn't going to like the album version, but it's just as good in a different way! And we all know any stripped down/acoustic version is going to be beautiful!
Its been such a journey to follow Aurora. From the first time I saw her at age 18. This tiny, shy girl. Standing there, plucking her skirt while singing with this unbelievable clear and light voice, to this much more mature, (not only in body but voice) and confident woman with a voice that now spans the whole registry. She has now confirmed that a metal album is coming. I believe there is nothing she can't do. I can't believe I'm saying this but I would actually loved to see her in a musical like Chess, Les Miserables or something. I think she would be fantastic on that stage. Love from Norway Ash.
I was doing some work with her manager around 2014. The band rehearsed in the studio for her first concerts. They didn't know if she was ready yet. At one point she got up from the piano and just sang. That moment...😲. It was not at all unusual to have extremely talented young prodigies in these circles.
But I remember telling her guitarist OM, that they should take good care of her, because she was going places 🤩.

Ashlena,, she does look out for her reactors. One who is a big fan went to a concert a couple of years ago and went back stage hoping for an autograph. She greeted him by name like an old friend, so watch out for December, she has a huge intellect.

I think it's her dear mother who keeps up with the reactors and gives Aurora the heads-up. She must be especially proud when watching people react to one of her precious daughters.

I agree, this is her best. As I said before, maturity is starting to come through, in her songwriting, in her voice, and in her appearance. You need to prepare yourself for the possibility that the upcoming concert in Chicago will mainly consist of songs from her new album. There are videos of recent concerts and those are the songs she performs, usually ending with Invisible Wounds. I love every version but on the very end I think live version is stunning and most amazing. I also love this shoty piano run - there are piano in album version too but behind other sounds and even not sure if it is the same, but in this live version just amazing :)).
Ps. I also wander if this ending sound in the loop was made somehow during performance (I mean this breathing and then you still hear it in the loop like it was recorded [maybe seconds before] and put in the loop). Of course it could be prerecorded or someone off camera doing this sounds. Also later you can hear additional background piano keys. It does not matter so much but I am curious :)
It's possible. Some performers who use foot pedals to loop sounds on their mic.

Those "Sung Yells" (I can't think of another way to describe them) hit me in the emotions. This album is the best but I said that about "Gods" when it came out.
Ashlena, you know she always sings her music differently when live. The concert will be different as will the one in Manchester in October (I expect/hope)

Aurora tells the tale of the way of her music being released on the album half a year after recording, and the label forbidding her to perform in the meantime (which is ok for her) but also forbidding her to develop the songs further, which makes her hate her work at the point the album finally is released. So being able to work her music again and re-interpret it again once the album is out probably does her some good.

THe first version we got from "A soul with no king" ...the remix version. I wasn't feeling it too much.
I mean it's nice, but the instrumental part was a bit overschadowing Aurora's voice in my opinion.
Then the album version, I was like, yeas this is way better !
But then !!!! 😱 Then this live VEVO version dopped, and it just blew me away. Her hand movements, her interaction with the camerea (us actually), her short but o so beautiful piano intermezzo. And then her voice !!! How she held that high note..OMG !!! just amazed AGAIN by her. She is so awesome ❤❤❤

Sadly, Spotify is all about the money,so they will not include performances like the VEVO's. These recordings are gifts to the fans, many of them might pop up as bonus tracks on her album releases. Like the new edition of All My Demons..
It would be cool if, when you attend the concert, if someone had the ability to do a split screen showing Aurora singing, and of your facial expressions throughout the entire performance. I think it would be best to bring something with you to wipe the tears from your eyes. I envy you, Ashlena.

Happy early birthday!!! I was hoping u’d check this performance out. And even better it’s this song as it was a standout in the album. To me she is now at the height of her powers. In years past she would often go high and then even higher but now she’s fully tapped into her lower register as well and it sounds just as good as her high which is incredible.
I think that some will misinterpret, in A Soul With No King, the line "You speak of the devil like he's not your friend..." It can be better understood what the entire song is about if one looks up Aurora's explanation.

Great words, which I can only agree with, obviously. Aurora the (emotional) singer is so exceptional that a minimal musical set up can only highlight her even more. But it is also true that this singing lady is also much more than "just" a singer... Anyway, I simply love (!) this live performance... as I write this comment I just feel the need to listen to it again (well, to get lost in it through my eyes and my ears, precisely)...

That was great! She just slays with these stripped down live Vevo versions. One of my favorites from the album ( I really enjoy the drumming for some reason), but version is easily as good. Also she's always fun to watch. I believe she always plays Runaway live by the way. By far her most performed song. 🤞

From the many versions of songs Aurora does, I'm always more drawn to the "toned down" ones, so to speak. Less instrumentation and such. The...what, mandolin/balalaika-esque guitar here fits just absolutely perfect, for example. I think high production is not necessary for her, at all, though not saying that it's detrimental.
Considering you enjoy incredible singers, like Aurora here and so many others on your channel, and you say you're interested in vocals, I'd just like to at least have thrown out two names you could be interested in looking at, even if it's just for yourself (or your audience for themselves):
Song Sohee (for example the song "Infodemics", or the most recent one "Dear My Lover") and
Upiko ("Crow", or "Human Scramble")
It's a mandola - which is like a mandolin but a little bigger.
