For me, Aurora reaches her absolute pinnacle when she is either dancing as well as singing (the official videos of "Cure For Me", "Giving In To The Love" and "Winter Bird", her performance of "Conqueror" on the Jimmy Fallon show) or is accompanied by just one instrument (the acoustic versions of "Temporary High", "Dance On The Moon" and "It Happened Quiet"). This one is excessively brilliant because it is both. What she has achieved in her first ten years is astonishing, with her career being like the high jump or pole vault, the bar just gets lifted higher with each attempt.
You never get the dynamics in a pop production where all peaks are leveled down like in a live session. Auroras needs this room for her expression. She is at her best when she sings with musicians who can follow her wild and free dynamic style.
I sometimes find myself in need of some comfort and kindness and joy, so here I am. Again.

Going back in time to Nidarosdomen, Aurora looked nervous as she stepped on stage singing Nature Boy. Forward some years to today, and that nervous young woman has blossomed into a confident artist that just allows her music to flow freely, bringing out her emotions and fun side. Truly wonderful!

Hey, Ash. I love how you comment on her having fun in what she does. It is so refreshing and I do agree on how you compare her to other artist being so serious.
Aurora and her tempo I find impressive also on how she manages to do so much and hold so many concerts. But as she has said to her audience; "I needed your energy"... she does consume energy of her audience and what could be better? It keeps her going. She LOVES her audience, her fans, warriors. It is clear that she needs us as we need her.
But she is indeed a powerhouse and as a fellow norwegian to her, I am so so proud of her.
I am convinced she has litterally saved lives. In the thousands.

This is one of those strange thing. Watching you watching Aurora. Why does that give me such joy? Maybe its similar to watching a really good movie but that experience gets so much better if you watch it together with a good friend? Maybe.

I love the way that Fredrik's guitar (in this case mandolin) playing has come on over the years. He's always been good, but in some more recent live performances I've watched he's been positively shredding in the instrumental break. He's also playing a pedal board linked to the low notes of the electric piano here. They are both really talented, and you can see that they really have fun doing it, which makes it even more fun to watch and listen to.

Aurora is having fun. It’s the law really. If the new album has lots of vocalisation and voice sampling effects the live versions will be very different just like this one. BTW she looks fabulous in her dress here.
Of all her live videos this is my favorite as it really shows who she is and also her range!
This one is especially interesting, because typically Vevo performances are known for their perfection, but they kept this one very fun and raw. I'm glad they kept this version, because her personality is on display, but not at the expense of her incredible voice. I feel like Aurora is really living her best life right now, and it's so cool to see, especially knowing how much she struggled early in her career. 👍😍🤟

I’m at a loss for words, because you said everything that I was feeling. I thought I couldn’t love this song more - wrong! I got the chills at the same spots (her voice!) - the combination of power, clarity & tone she delivers is insane. And I totally agree about the fun she was having, it’s infectious & irresistible - she’s adorable. 🥰

Love it! She proved me wrong again. I never learn. I bi**hed about "Your Blood" at first, and then later played it like crazy, then did the same with this song. Of course as soon as she released this version, I loved it right away. Impossible not to. Quite addicted at the moment 🤩.

I was waiting for your reaction. You teased me at first and put up the wrong one. Like you, I wasn't stunned by the studio/music video version. But this version is just so stunning, with Aurora being so free and having so much fun. If you listen right to the end, she giggles off camera. Look up, the Museum of the UN "The Making of 'A Soul With No King", with Aurora and Brian Eno. At 3:28 in the video, whilst Brian Eno is at his computer, Aurora goes up to him, puts her hands on his shoulders, and rests her head on him. He says "that's very nice". It's a great watch, for seeing Aurora, being Aurora. When I studied ecology at university, Brian Eno's ex-wife was on our course, but I've never met him, but I did meet his daughter, Hannah, who went on Ecology Society field trips with us.
Oh that's it. In the video, she gives Brian Eno, a little bottle with her hair in it, as a good luck charm.

This was great! It’s so wonderful and cool to see her evolve from the beginning where she was nervous to now where she’s just having fun and being unpredictable. And her voice is also evolving, even better if that’s possible. It is interesting the first line of this song is so close to Billie’s album title, hmmmm lol.

Some Type of Skin was released first, so when I saw the title of Billie's album, it immediately made me think of STOS, and it did for many others as well in Aurora reddit and Mothership Discord.
Especially when the start of STOS plays in my brain most of the day :D It clicked instanteniously.
And the very beginning of STOS is similar to Big Time Sensuality by Bjork. Coincidence? I would say so, but the theme match of the two songs is incredible.
Actually, I played both songs now again, and the intro chords might even match, but I am just a drummer, not a musician :D

I've been wondering about the title of Billie's album since it came out. I wonder if there is a connection. I love that they kept the take where she forgets to play the piano. Usually VEVO performances are so polished and perfect, but this one has a cute little mistake. I still don't think it has fully set in that I get to watch this woman sing live at the end of the year.

I don't really know what to think about the video. It feels more like - oh we have little time left, let's make a video. And yes, it's funny and they enjoyed themselves but.... if we now look at the other Vevo videos, this one is a bit more sloppy. Besides the fact that Aurora has a piece of green tape in her hair, she has almost forgotten to play the piano. Some will say "Yes, yes, it's typical Aurora...." and "It's so sweet and funny" and it's also true... stubbornly there is a little - but - left. I don't want to criticize her and it's not an attack either, I really like her and the song in this version is fantastic and I can understand that you too think it's Aurora in a pinch ..... but.... 😉.
(phew.... now I have to deal with the fan base, not easy to criticize Aurora. Lets see what happends 😊)

There are many positive things in this video as you can read in the comments and they are all right. But isn't it ok to have a different opinion? Keeping calm is part of my daily life and it is important in dealing with the people around me. I thank you for your comment and i take it "quite calmly" 😊
