Maybe is his girlfriend of wife
Yes, his voice really did change

It must be a new girl.
So you mean to say that one of the world's tallest buildings at the time only took 410 days to complete, and yet it took almost five years for the builders to complete my house?

Yup, we’re not efficient or good at doing shit anymore. Everything is disposable garbage. If you can go to the Empire State Building and marvel at the beautiful Art Deco interior, true craftsmanship.

Nothing about King Kong climbing to the top in 1933! How could they miss that!

@TheSFS Dude dude is this a joke?
TheSFS Dude the point of it was that it was supposed to be a joke, they know its not real, anyways have a good day:)

@TheSpaceFlight Gamer Ohh really? OMG I'm fake 😱😱
CZcams recommended this to me and as I was watching I was thinking to myself “man these animations look like something Jared Owen would do” and when the video finished I saw his name and I got excited 😂
That's where Kingkong died!
Actually its when he was falling...
No, the fall didn't kill King Kong. It was the sudden stop at the end.

wtf is this comment so stupid but so funny
Not the tallest, but definitely the most iconic.
Debatable
Well, not any more obviously. It was the tallest until the WTC was built. That was a little over 40 years. I remember looking south and seeing the WTC from the top of the Empire State building back in the day. They should have rebuilt it. The skyline looked cooler back then.
@no. The should have at least made two of them in the exact spots. I feel like the twin towers was more unique than the freedom tower.
yea but I would look weird @@H4I2I2EE

Fun fact: The Empire State Building was constructed in the former lot of the old Waldorf Astoria hotel.
@Stella Hohenheim Nobody cares that you said that

That whole block
A magnificent and exquisite architectural work of art! I was lucky enough to see it in real life and it really stands out as the royalty of skyscrapers it is; a true landmark of NYC!!!
It is the classiest and most majestic sky scraper in the world.
@SpectactularChair TV shut up empire state building is more iconic and majestic.
If I can ever afford to come to the US, I'll visit this marvel called the Empire State building!
@Jeremy Caraballo hopefully.
Manjunath Naidu As an American, I've been to Manhattan and the Empire State Building quite a few times. While it may look very special, there is nothing really special about it. However, I will say that the view of Manhattan at night from the very highest floor is spectacular.
i have to say... the state of new york is in the US. the empire state building is in the US
@@okno7892 It was the tallest building in the world for 40 years. That ALONE makes it special.

The building was, at one time, 1,472 feet tall to the tip of it’s spire. It was eventually lowered to 1,454 feet but I cannot recall why.
At one time, from one of it’s street entrances to it’s roof (excluding antenna), Chicago’s Sears Tower (now known officially as the Willis Tower) was also 1,454 feet tall. This was changed to 1,451 feet because they were using a lower street entrance and not the main one when measuring the height of the building.
With it’s taller antenna added, of which there are two, the Sears Tower stands 1,729 feet tall. It held the record of being the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere by roof height from 1973 until recently when New York’s Central Park Tower surpassed it. That new giant along “Billionaire’s Row” topped out at 1,550 feet from ground to roof. It is nearly 200 feet taller by roof height than the 1,368 foot tall One World Trade Center. That building is commonly referred to as the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere because of it’s antenna, which also doubles as a spire.
By roof height, at least three towers in NYC are taller than One World Center. They are 432 Park Avenue, 111 West 57th and Central Park Tower.
It was shortened bc if airline safety and restrictions
@@christophervidaurri2956 Thanks for the information. Appreciated.

Twin Towers would have been more iconic if they were still up
I'd argue they'd be way less iconic if they were still up imo. The Empire State Building was definitely more famous than the Twin Towers before 2001 (I'd argue it still is. Everyone knows the Empire State as an American icon). If not for the incident, the Twin Towers really don't stand out that much architecturally, with the only special thing being that there were two of them.

Um,the World Trade centre was a HUGE architectural feat.It was highly unfortunate that 9/11 happened.

I have been fortunate go go up the ESB on several occasions both night and day and its just great; a true icon of a fabulous city and to think that it was built in a little over a year is simply staggering!!
It is 1250 ft tall it holds the record of the tallest building for 40 years!
Not the tallest anymore, but still by far the best looking skyscraper in the world.
Seriously? Lol
I think its the ugliest, I hate New York old buildings.
old skyscrapers = best looking skyscrapers
for me its the opposites
no its not really the best looking either. (in my opinion) in your opinion it might be but just look at these newer buildings like the burj khalifa.
Most beautiful building in world.
Yes She is!
Empire State Building, a skyscraper (1,250 ft. high, without its television tower) in Manhattan, New York City (1930-1931), formerly the world's tallest building.

Hey Jared, I have a humble video request: WTC 1 & 2. Unless it’s too sensitive a subject, then perhaps One World Trade (Freedom Tower). I just think your analysis, especially when looking at the stairwells, would be incredibly fascinating.
Thank you for all you do! 👍
many taller.....none better. Still the king of skyscrapers.
Burj Khalifa is better m8
BliTZarD Burj Khalifa looks like a junkie's needle
Burj Khalifa is ugly as shit compared to The Empire State Building.
Jason Young dude burj khalifa is about 3x times bigger than the empire state building
Burj is NOT 3 times bigger than the Empire State Building, not even twice as big. Empire is historic, legendary, and way better aesthetically than the shitty Burj. Empire is iconic, Burj is a stupid gimmick.
1:48 but what about the Willis tower and then that
THIS is TRUE.
Empire State is tall 381m(without) antenna. But with antenna is tall 449m no 443m
My favorite skycraper 😍❤
I’m obsessed with these building videos. I’d loooove to see Freedom Tower!!! Or Taj Mahal?
A dirigible approach was tried one time. Air currents swirling around the building made it a wild ride. Then the pilot did something that the building designers hadn't thought of. He dumped ballast water, soaking people on the streets for blocks. The ESB is overbuilt by a considerable percentage; it took a direct hit from a B-25 Mitchel bomber on July 28th, 1945 without compromising its structural integrity. Great video, thanks!
the title should be changed to facts about the empire state building
Man this makes me want to build a skyscraper in minecraft
Edit: I know the height limit. I could use a mod to increase it.
Minecraft has a 250 block/250 metre build limit
Do the indian imperial twin towers cause they're perfectly 256m tall
Remember Building twin tower and looks easy to build it is not
there's a mod which increases the height limit to 2000+ blocks
Biild metre... speak -eglesh- english
I loved the animation 😍🌹❤️
Absolutely amazing illustrations. Whenever I see anything on tv, whether it’s a fictional movie or tv show or a nonfiction documentary, I always wonder exactly where it is but that info is never available; which makes me wonder if I’m the only one that cares about that sort of thing. And the time line gave an awesome perspective of history; tying things together and putting things into perspective. It is indeed a rare talent to have this sort of insight as a teacher. I tend to think and talk a lot about the sort of things on your channel, which is probably why my wife always said nobody cares about what I have to say. So, glad I found a kindred spirit of our rare breed.
1:49: Currently is right, ma'am. My brother told me about another building being built in Japan. It's called the Angel Tower and it's meant to be a kilometre (3,280.84 ft) tall.
Really is there a text about this?
@@user-ic1tk6tl1u Well, no. Not that I could find. It was just my brother whom I learned it from.
Awesome!! I’ve been there.. all the way to the observation deck! It’s way to high though! And those elevators jam up there so fast! One of the most impressive things about the Empire State is the lobby mural and all the art deco work inside and outside the tower. Ya the view is amazing but I was more impressed with the design work.
I've been at the top of the Empire State Building, it may be not the tallest building anymore, but it is definitely the most iconic building of Manhattan
It is the father of skyscrapers
It's hard to believe, and I just realized, the Empire State Building was completed before my mom was born.
*WRONG*
The "Mooring Mast" was never even intended to be a Zeppelin dock, it was just to make it look like it had a purpose, when in reality it was built just so to be taller than the Chrysler Building, and for additional height in general.
So true. How would they have gotten the passengers out anyway?
Jump off!
Yep, it was all about marketing and sales. There were no practical passenger loading proposals.
then in around 1949 they added the antenna mast.
Paistin Lasta It actually was made for zeppelins. It was a crazy idea to catch more attention to the Empire State Building. Just because something is illogical, doesn't always mean it is false.

better than a long ,drawn out documentry.everything you need to know about the esb.in 4.25 mins.good video!
The background music always very fitting for the Era in which it was built. When she mentioned thr high winds at the observation deck, it should have been mentioned thst when I'd snows up there, it snows UP. It really cool!

So well seen Empire State
Ilke it. I had been there on top floor

1:41 yessir they mentioned my favorite building
I had the awesome chance to visit the 103rd floor. My dad works in radio, and his friend happens to work up there. Another one of his friends got us to the top of the sears tower. His radio work is boring, but it sure gets us places!
That’s cool!!
4:00 Too much wind (actually too gusty) is correct, but IINM typically the tail is not tied down to anything. The airship is free to rotate with the prevailing wind. Two thumbs up for a great video!
It would be cool if you did one on the top 10 tallest buildings in the world.

There's a very narrow stair way that leads to the 103rd floor. It looks very similar to a set of narrow narrow stairs in the Cincinnati Museum Center Union Terminal on its 3rd-4th floors. Which makes sense since both buildings were built in the 30s

Looking so good Empier state building
Fun fact: When the Empire State Building was built, it didn't have an antenna. It wasn't installed until 1953, due to ensure that it would be taller than the Chrysler Building.
No it was originally installed for a docking of airships obviously this idea is complete bogus for the reasons in the video but it was added anyway

Can you do the One WTC next?
My class teacher, Sukanya ma'am, gave me a task name 9 things except 1, person.
So,she named the building, Empire State, whereas I wrote...........Chrysler building.
This masterpiece was built in 1931. Nothing man made in the world at the time matched its height. The exterior of
this marvel of architecture and engineering is composed of 200,000 cubic feet of limestone and granite,10 million bricks
and 730 tons of aluminum and stainless steel. It has 6,500 windows and 73 elevators. In 1931 it cost $41 million to build.
If it were to be built now that cost would be approximately 3 billion in today's dollars.
I like her narration. She’s great❕ 👍🏼✨🏆✨💖
Can you do what’s inside the can tower
