I need to get out more! My town only has one thrift store and it only has a bunch of old lady clothes and not the cute kind. We only have one antique shop and it has TONS of antique clothing dating back to the '20s BUT since it's so old it's very expensive.
Online is an amazing space too! But don't beat yourself up if thrifting isn't accessible to you
absolutely love what you said about this style trend essentially making fantasy available to all. i could talk forever about the implications and details about such an idea but i wont, but i will say that such a movement makes me love this style/aesthetic all the more!

Fairy core started in my wardrobe in the 90's because I've been mixing these fashions since then along with the gothic elements 😂😂

I found a wonderful channel 🧚♀️💚
I believe this vid is mostly about fairy grunge, I imagine fairycore as a more ethereal version of cottagecore or the OG barbie fairies kind of vibes with pinks and pastels, all the pretty things and tons of glitters whereas fairy grunge on the other hand plays with earthy tones and grunge-y best description of this aesthetic I've come across is "ethereal, almost ghostly".
Fairycore has different themes, it all falls under the same umbrella though. Some people do water fairies with lots of blue and shells, others do wood fairies in dark green and brown with mushroom or toad motifs, some do flower fairies with pink and glitter, others do dark fairies with lots of black and spooky accessories. But the actual base look is the same, just different colors.

Soft grunge dosen't make any sense because it is totally materialistic which is the opposite of actually grunge, just speaks to how companies eat up a real movement and spit out a hollow shell to sell

So all fashion comes from the USA? Nope sorry! And I was in the USA in the 90s during the grunge movement. The style was basically poor kids that were also very intolerant towards others. Was not really something you wanted to look like. But that was years ago, history gets re evented.
