Okay, I have a very similar deck and its one of my favorites... but there are a couple things you can do to make it play better. As you said, have your infantry hot drop after making a push with your light armor. Instead of hot dropping an assault force, use your venoms to quickly deploy recon and reinforce points with lightning speed.
Use smoke artillery to blind the enemy while you drop infantry. Make sure your infantry are in buildings whenever possible, infantry in trees get wasted quick in this game once theyre spotted, so with short rang AT set to ambush mode (H) unless in buildings.
Your AA infantry should never be that close to the front line unless you have the area locked down by support infantry in buildings. You should never have AA infantry between your assault force and the point.
With your attack heli, you want to bring it in at low level to avoid detection and AA, instead of clicking on units to attack, bring it low behind a tree line a good distance from the front line, press "Q" for attack and select a position with lots of standoff. As the helo approaches the attack marker, transition to higher flight level and it will lob ATGMs from a considerable distance, keeping the helo safe and sniping tanks without getting in their range. The only time your helo should come anywhere near the enemy is for infantry rocket support.
Last thing, and this is personal preference. I move my supplies up near the front with an osprey/Griffin, and then use cheap trucks to move it to the front. These units are cheaper and much harder for the enemy to spot approaching the drop point, hiding your resupplies and keeping them safe.
Hope to see you in game some day ;)
Thanks very much for the detailed reply and advice. How to use the units is just as important as what you bring. 🫡
I knew what I wanted to do but executed it poorly when the fighting started (totally predicted 🤣).
Definitely will see me around 🫡
@@CmdrTyraelIm realising now how longwinded that comment is lol I had 4-cupcs-of-coffee energy lol
Really the attack helo is most important. If you control their standoff and just pop up and down behind cover, they are capable of taking out a whole tank push without being engaged, especially if they have the radar optics upgrade. Think of it this way, its much fast for them to dip down behind cover, than it is for them to take fire and then desperately hook-turn away from the enemy.
Basically, if micro'd correctly, only T-14s and sep3's will take more than one hit from a hellfire.
Been playing broken for over hundred hours since open beta (I have been grinding the game) I been trying to figure out a Air Deck and haven't found a good strategy to it, but this video will undoubtedly change that. I have mastered deck making for all Branches except for Air, I really appreciate this video a lot.
Glad I could help. Check the comments sound guys made some very good suggestions on how to play it.
I'd really like to see you attempt this again. Unfortunately you gave up on the doctrine pretty much as soon as the fighting began. Next time use your forces to drop into 'hot zones' where your allies are fighting, tip the balence and then use your air transport to bug out and regroup before heading to the next 'hot zone.' Trying to hold ground with such a squishy force is pointless.
No good plan survives amateurish micro 🤣.
I need to stay committed and not become distracted by the Artillery systems. 🫡
Thanks for watching.
@@CmdrTyrael Yeah the artillery really bogged you down. The inherent role that your build implies is that you should place the enemy into position where their advance leads to their defeat. You saw a glimpse of this when the enemy counterattack advanced into the killing field you'd inadvertently created whilst abandoning you tow and stinger teams. Overall your initiative was good. You forced the enemy to commit resources that would have otherwise been used agaisnt your allies. The mistake was thinking that you were a holding force when actually you should have been operating as a striking/rapid response force. That being said, thanks for making the video 👍
Would be interesting to see a deck docused around airdropping with fixed wing and really interfering with their backlines, as these maps do allow for quite a bit of manuvering and many times players negelct their flanks and back lines completely. A mix of ASF to gain & maintain air dominance and then dropping in infatry and light vehicles would be really interesting.
mmm delta force and ranger
In a game yesterday I got a single one of the Russian 57mm recon vehicles behind enemy lines and killed like 3 Pats a HIMARS and 2 supply dumps
You didn't move your supplies enough. Remember to move like onion, and keep your AA and TOW teams in 2nd line possibly behind armour. Also keep a small supply moving vehicle on stand by to supply these AT and AA infantry
This is a fantastic idea, but i think it took a bit too long to get your troops and supplies in and you should try to use the venom or a hind to forward deploy some scout units.
I like to use more ASFs and JSFs to soften points and apply pressure to enemy vehicles and supply lines. I’d use a few less venoms and use an osprey or two. The jets will provide cover while you place your troops a bit closer to the line.
Also, use armor for pushes like that. The Bradley is good but it’s not very durable. A couple SEP V3s/T90M Arenas will help provide the fire power to storm a point after an air strike, and then the tanks can draw fire and suppress the enemy while you bring in reinforcements.
I agree, little slow to react and fell apart when it mattered.
I appreciate the tips, just have to up the micro skill and keep on top of supply. 🫡
I can’t wait till the other army forces come out 😫
Me too! Having 5 armies to mix and match will be awesome.
Loved the video! Gotta try out the deck next! Looks incredibly fun actually :D Keep up the Broken Arrow gameplay! And I would also love to see a video where you are utilizing the same strategy as the Russians :)
Thanks for watching!
Literally making that video as we speak 🫡
Russian deck has excellent heli options currently.
That's nice deck I used something similar in Wargame and WARNO, but I'm very excited for Broken Arrow and future units like C-17, Chinook, Blackhawks and Apaches obviously, also on Russian side Smerch, Uragan MLRS.
Love the idea and really wish helicopters are not as vulnerable in the game. Maybe when the other specializations come out Air Assaults will be a more viable tactic. Just find infantry and helicopters the weakest part of the game…at least in the beta, which kind of was demonstrated here. Infantry are too slow and vulnerable in the open and helicopters easily get shot down.
From a tactical standpoint I would’ve done a probing attack if you are going to run infantry and Bradley’s. You were never going to be able to hold that point that close to the enemy spawn after the initial attack. I would’ve attacked with your ESV Bradley’s like you did but set up the rest of your infantry in ambush positions in the tree line. Then pull your Braldeys back to bait the enemy armor while resupplying your troops. Obviously there were a lot of micro errors but that stuff comes with time.
Overall, enjoyed to video and definitely would love to hear you cast some games when Broken Arrow comes out. That would be amazing.
My lack of experience in this game shows, but now that I've got a few games under my belt, I understand how the meta works.
It's a lot of fun to come up with a tactic and try to make it come to life!
When the game comes out, I totally intend to sink my teeth into more content.
I'm excited to see the competitive side of the game grow. Thanks for watching.
Great gameplay :)
Thanks for the visit
It's looks like right now you only have Marine Air assets for Air support Army Air cav used vehicles like the Blackhawk DAP the AH-6 and the AH-64A/D as well Chanooks
I know they are coming. So wanted to experiment with the doctrine.
I guess we were vietnam era in this game 🤣
Don't worry about being armor in the coming years the M-10 Booker is going to make they plan to put Booker at Platoon level.
When dies this come out ?
We do t have a concrete release date but I anticipate Q3 this year
"Cavalry deck" but no contact with an enemy before 20 min mark in game....
Manuevre is just as important as action.
The point was to show how you can use an idea and build a deck and tactics around it.
Teammates actually garbage and didn’t move the entire game
The curse of the random team mate. Sometimes you meet Alexander the Great! other times just General Turtle 🐢
